Hedo with the December WWW group.
Our
departure to HEDO could not have been more hectic. I returned from Vegas on Monday, on a red eye flight, to the
Philadelphia area and had to take my DAD home to the North Jersey area.
He loves Vegas and whenever I go I have to take him with me.
Well two and a half-hours up and hour to make sure he was settled back
in and then the two and a half-hour return to South Jersey, only to find that
there was a problem at work that needed my attention, and also caused me to
return to the New York area to take care of a problem at one of our remote
sites. Needless to say the next
two days were very trying, with work, and making sure the dog and cat were
settled in at the kennel and then saying goodbye to our new twin
granddaughters we were very much in need of our long overdue vacation.
So
Thursday morning we head to the Philadelphia airport, in a mental fog, and
board our Air Jamaica flight to MoBay. There
were two other couples traveling on the same flight and staying at Hedo, but
we were so wiped out we didnt even notice them.
Sorry
Passed right
through immigrations and customs and then over to Tims air for the shuttle
to Negril. The shuttle was fine
and we decided to take the taxi rather than wait for the shuttle bus from Hedo
to pick us up. Well worth the $5
at that point.
Check
in was another adventure. What we
needed was someplace to just lay down and sleep for a while.
But Hedo was over booked and we decided that instead of being put up at
Point Village, we would volunteer to stay at Grand Lido for the night.
Note: Grand Lido was very
nice, very quiet and the food and rooms were much better than Hedo, but who
goes to Hedo for the food and rooms. It
was great to get a good nights sleep.
Friday,
back to Hedo. We were given a
garden view room instead of the ocean view we booked.
But all things come to those that are patient. Saturday we had a great room, a bit loud caused by the folks
enjoying the hot tube, first floor room number 2178. The problems with the room assignments were troublesome and
did start the vacation out on the wrong foot but we got over it very quickly.
Some folks were making a big deal out of being assigned the wrong rooms
but to us it wasnt worth the fuss. Just
go with the flow all will be straightened out in time.
Let
the games begin.
It
may sound hokey to those who were not there, but the people do make Hedo what
it is. This was our third trip
and our most enjoyable to Hedo. We
are a couple with very different interest from one another.
My wife is very content to lie on the beach all day sunning her self
while reading a book, while I cant sit still for a minute.
I have to try anything and everything.
The other guests respected our wishes.
When we didnt participate in something, there was no pressure.
When we did hang around with the groups, we were included along with
everyone else. The group was a
diverse group with regard to age, body types, geographic locations and
occupations. It made for a great
blending.
Some
of the activities:
I
tried to SCUBA. It wasnt for me. I
was so uncomfortable breathing thought the regulator that I couldnt move
from the side of the pool. Maybe
Ill have to try that one again next time.
Went
snorkeling and saw dolphins. There
was a lot of life in the water out by the reef, had a great time.
Went
on the special cat cruise for the WWW group.
Had a blast, diving from the cliffs at the Pickled Parrot, and Waynes
Jellos Shots they were the best.
Volleyball
with the young guys on the prude side in the morning was fun.
Every though they were arguing about who would have to have me on their
side. I know my butt is close to
the sand and I dont jump very high but it was embarrassing to be fought
over with the loser getting me. There
was a lot of good nature kidding at least thats what I told myself.
Afternoon
volleyball on the nude side was great and again the kidding was a lot of
fun. Pat with position 101 or was
it 102. Tina, who could be so
naughty and being with the rest of the rest of the group was just great.
And special thanks to Janie for not
trying to make that low save that would have ruined my sex life for the
remainer of the trip. ;^)
Taking
over the prude hot tub in the afternoon Twenty or so naked people invading
the prude hot tub was a sight to see. And
twenty-five shots of sambuca for all those who fit in there had the bartenders
scratching their heads wondering what the heck was going on.
The
toga party was fun, and again we missed the PJ party. Oh well there always next time.
Somehow
we all ended up with blue handprints on parts of our bodies during the
body painting festivities.
Denny
and Diane give great tattoo. And
someone is still waiting for that promised hug.
The
entertainment coordinator Mark is a crazy man, and Lewis was his usual sweet
self. The rest of the staff was
helpful and as pleasant as we have found in the past.
Special
Note:
We
want to thank Denny for putting together this little group.
As I said this was our best trip yet and we attribute it to the efforts
made by Denny, and of course the folks who attended.
Even thought we didnt spend any time in the chat room, and only sent
a few emails, we recognized people almost immediately by the photos on Denny's
web site. We dont know if we can wait till July to return to Hedo
with the July WWW group. But that
may be the reason we will have to go three times this year April, July and
of course December. We used Go
Classy tours to book our trip, as we have in the past, and again found that
the service provided by Lance and the staff at Go Classy to be exceptional.
Our special thanks to all that attend and made this a great trip. We hope our paths cross again soon. And your adventures though life are all you want them to be.
