This was our third time to Hedo3; the last time we were there was October 2003. What we both enjoy about Hedo3 is the fact that it is "all-inclusive", and that we can get "wild" if we so choose...
This year, however, it seemed to us that the resort's "balloon" lost a lot of air. The lack of maintenance is making the resort look older than it really is: clogged storm drains, dull exterior paint, cracked tiles, loose bathroom fixtures, weathered furniture, peeling paint from pool floors, etc.
The three things that annoyed us the most were:
1) The housekeeping team was VERY slow to clean the rooms.
Our room was clean only around 5pm, and they actually forgot to clean it twice
in six days.
2) The total lack of daytime poolside activities. The weather was not very
cooperative, but even on partly cloudy days, the entertainment team was nowhere
to be found. This was a big change from a couple of years ago.
3) The midnight buffet. Very little choice or variety, no fruit, scarce service; this is definitely not a buffet by definition.
On a positive note, the bartenders and other staff were always very friendly. We enjoyed eating at the Scotch Bonnet; as always, the food was excellent.
We still enjoyed our stay at Hedo3, but we feel as though the resort is running out of steam and very quickly becoming less attractive. We think that what makes the stay memorable is mostly the chemistry generated by the different guests found at the resort on a given week. However, if the resort is no longer up to par, the guests will go elsewhere...
