We (Anthony and Wendy) had a short trip from October 7 through
October 10, but we made the most of it. I'll do my best to recap events.
Our last day of work was Wednesday, and it sucked. I was there until very
late doing some last minute stuff. Then I had to pack -- was up until at
least 2:30am doing that. We awoke at 4:30am to go to Newark Airport, got
there at 6 (after a trip from long term parking), and got on our 7am flight.
Air Jamaica. Pleasant flight, no complaints. The wind was tough coming
down, but our pilot was awesome, and it was smoothe as if no wind was present.
Yay! Jamaica, mon! Respect!
Customs/ Immigration lines were not too long on a Thursday morning. I've done
the Saturday travel before and the line was out the door. (But on Saturday
the lovely Jamaican ladies sing, sway and play guitar... "Come back to
Jamaica... what's old is what's new..." and none of that happens on Thursday
morning.) Check in at the Superclubs booth was fairly quick... but our bus
ride was hellish! The bus was fine, but they stopped TWICE! Arrgghhh!!! I
slept through most of it anyway, while Wendy watched the scenery. We finally
got to Hedo III at about 2:30pm (which is really 3:30pm for us, because
Jamaica does not observe Daylight savings time).
Once at Hedo III, all troubles of the world ceased to exist, as they normally
do. We checked in and were placed in the Green section, oceanfront, 734,
overlooking the sand volleyball court. Yeah, it was on the third floor... but
whatever... it was cool. Room was great, room service was great, AC was
great. Our housekeeping, Antoinette Henry, was super nice and did a great
job.
We immediately headed to the Scotch Bonnet for some food... jerk chicken. We
ran into Allan and Yvonne there (from Scotland by way of Colorado). Many of
the people we met this trip we had the great fortune of already talking to via
email because of Denny P's great site and the fact that the WWW trip was
taking place from Oct. 9-16. We would only be there until Oct. 10, but we
joined on fwith the WWW group anyway, and got to interact with tons of
wonderful people. Anyway... after getting some food, we went straight to the
nude pool, stripped free of our evil clothes and pretty much didn't put them
back on for the remainder of the trip.
A quick note on the condition of the club, post-Hurricane Ivan. There
are almost no noticeable signs of damage or disruption. The worst thing
left from the hurricane is that the stretch of walkway along the ocean from
the scotch bonnet o the gazebo (heading towards the nude pool) is closed off.
The walkway is actually in perfect condition, but apparently the footings
below the walkway have been damaged and/ or eroded to the point that it is a
safety concern. Otherwise, things are perfect. I didnt even
notice downed trees and/ or vegetation. It is still paradise. The
pussy fountain on the nude side wasnt operating, and we were told that the
hurricane was to blame. But everything else was in tip-top shape.
The hot tub was working great and staying hot, even in the
crowded, wee hours of the morning (which is always a concern there). We spent
come time in the pool, playing volleyball, drinking at the swim up bar and
just meeting people. We also met some of the guys from the Mr. Caribbean
contest, which was going on that week. Chris was super-nice, and he won in
the end. Juan was cool, too. He got third. Our friends Ernie and Natasha
(who we first met on the bus) showed up, and we all hung out for a while. We
also met Angela while playing volleyball... her smile lights up the whole
surrounding environment. They were great, first timers. Anyway, we stayed in
the pool area until about 6:45pm, when we begrudgingly put clothes on and went
to dinner at the Munahana, the Japanese steak house. (But it was toga
night... so at least our clothes were fun. We had brought our own... Walmart
has some excellent shimmery, comfortable fabric for cheap, along with the gold
rope and accessories.) The steak house was excellent... sushi, and tons of
food. We met some nice people who were on the prude side, and even a couple
that got moved from Grand Lido to Breezes because of hurricane damage, and
then moved to Hedo III because they disliked Breezes. They were nice, but our
urges to just do it and go nude fell on deaf ears. (I can't believe how many
people there wait until the last day of their vacation to go nude, and then
realize that all the fun happens on the nude side, and they kick themselves
for squandering the earlier days.)
After dinner, we napped quickly for like an hour. Then we headed to the piano
bar, still in togas. It was crowded, and we were stuck in the back for a
while. We laughed, met up with some friends (Don and Cara finally made it
in), and then headed to the club. We danced, sweat, gyrated to the Jamaican
beats pumped thru the sound system, and then headed off to the nude pool and
hot tub again. The action was pretty lively. We stayed there until about
3:30 and then went to bed, exhausted.
Friday, I woke early and reserved us some chairs right next to the hottub on
the nude side. We then got some breakfast (it was delivered), woke and made
our way to the pool. We spent the majority of the day there. I played
volleyball, and Wendy made friends (very friendly friends) with some girls at
the shallow end over the course of body shots. We also took a daytime trip
over to the prude side to do the waterslide. We ate from the nude side grill,
drank tons of pina coladas, dirty bananas, mudslides, purple rains, strawberry
daiquiris, and other assorted drinks. Around 2ish, Wendy and I headed to the
main dining hall so she could compete in the wet t-shirt contest. It was
awesome. Isis won (but Wendy got a bottle of rum anyway... yay! Let's hear
it for all natural girls!) I then worked out at the gym, and Wendy headed
back to the nude side for some sun. I re-joined her, played more volleyball,
and then late afternoon we ventured over to the quad pool and hottub, invited
by some friends. We hung out there until Shandy and Steve invited us up to
try on their extra clothes they had brought for the fetish night theme. I
tried on this leather vest that made me look like the newest gay member of the
Village People, along with the gay leather nut-hugger thong. Maybe someone
like Juan or Chris (contestants in the Mr. Caribbean contest) could fill out
the g-string leather thong, but not my skinny-ass, whiteboy body. I just
looked like a gay gimp. So I declined the outfit. Wendy, however, looked hot
as hell in her leather dominatrix outfit. Our friends joined us for a while
for some fun, and then we ate at the Scotch Bonnet (patties). Then we napped.
We went to dinner with Don and Cara at 9 at the Italian place, Pastifari. Wendy must have eaten something bad, because she immediately got sick (like within 10 minutes after leaving there). She took a little time to go to the room, lie down and relax, while the rest of us headed to the piano bar. We got better seats on Friday. After a while, Wendy re-joined us. The bar was rockin'. And I got up and played (and sang--poorly) two Billy Joel songs, Vienna (words adapted for Hedo) and She's Got a Way. The piano man, O-Shit, was in a great mood, as always, and the place was on fire that night. It was awesome. Allan is the only Scottish guy I know who has that thick of an accent when talking normally, but sings in perfect English. He was donning his Orange prison jumpsuit from the Department of Corrections (rather, the Department of Erections, after his slight word alteration), and Yvonne was also a dom for the night, ala prison warden. Of course, we headed to the club, danced, got sweaty, got naked, and then went back to the nude pool and hottub. Dan and Andrea joined us there for a long time, until like 4am, and then back in our room to chill for a while longer. At 6am, I was out of my mind and actually went to the bathroom to brush my teeth to go to bed. I forgot what I was doing there... as you often do in Jamaica at Hedo III in that state of mind... and instead I styled my hair. I realized it as I walked out of the bathroom and Wendy and I had a roll for quite a while.
Sleep came quick, as did the next morning. Chairs were again reserved by me Saturday morning, breakfast was fetched (this time from the buffet), and we got out to the nude pool by 11:30. More volleyball and pool games were played (and I should add that Denny P is a damn good water volleyball player). Lots of new people showed up on Saturday to join Denny's WWW group. We did the waterslide again, mid-afternoon, and finally ran into Dan and Andrea around 4ish, when they re-joined the world. Hahaha! After a trip to the quad hottub, where we hung with our friends, and we met Melissa and Anthony, and Clint and Stormy. Then we napped again, this time for almost 2 hours! (I highly recommend the mid-day nap... charges the batteries for the long evenings!) At 9ish we woke and attended the finale of the Mr. Caribbean contest while dining in the main hall. (It was dragged out super-long, so we left after Juan did his performance.) We headed to the piano bar, but it was O-Shit's night off, so they were doing karaoke. Unfortunately, they were about 1 hour late in setting up karaoke. So I got up and played a few songs on the piano. But without music I couldn't do too much, and I'm making a point to remember to bring music next trip, just in case that happens again. When the karaoke kicked in, I did Sweet Home Alabama, Allan did Jailhouse Rock, and some woman whose name I wish I could recall (but can't) blew us all away with Steve Nick's One the Edge of Seventeen. Holy Jesus, that girl could sing!!! We again ventured to the club, and this time Wendy made it on stage (actually, the bar) for the "shake your booty" competition. She got tons of cheers, but Natasha won over the crowd. She had the pole, along with a booty that shook and was probably responsible for all those tremors happening at Mt. St. Helens. Damn!!! Anyway, we headed out to the deck for some air after that, joined by Chris and Jackie, Ernie and Natasha, Don and Cara, and Steve and Shandy. Then we all got naked. Yes, on the prude side, right outside of the dance club on the deck. We climbed the stairs and did the water slide like 6 times. We were later joined by Clint and Stormy, and they, too, enjoyed the water slide. This was followed by a trip to the nude side, only to find it too crowded. So we ventured to the quad. Shandy and Wendy invented a game called girls in the middle, which we all loved, as they were joined by Stormy and Jackie (and then a random lady that showed up and joined for a while). Since Steve and Shandy were waking at 4am to leave, they left the hottub early, followed by Stormy and Clint. Wendy and Jackie stayed (obviously with me and Chris). But we, too, were pooped from the activities, so we headed up to bed around 3 or 4ish.
Sunday our bags were packed and at the door by 10 am. We went
to the pool for some drinks and games, briefly, and then checked in with Air
Jamaica at 10:45, right outside the gym area. We returned to the pool until
12, and headed to the Scotch Bonnet for some final tastes of Jamaican food...
jerk burger, patty and jerk chicken. Then we played one more game of
volleyball in the nude pool, which was interrupted because Chris and I (both
playing) had to abandon our team mid-game to leave for the bus around 1:50 pm.
I rushed to the bus late after bidding everyone good bye (seeing JoJo last...
I love her and miss her dearly), all the while struggling to get my clothes on
as the people already on the bus from Breezes looked on in amazement and
kicked themselves for not having nearly as much fun! Our bus trip back was
great, quick and only included one stop. On the bus, we were joined by Angela
and her husband, along with Chris and Jackie who live by us but were flying
into another airport. We all ate quickly at Margaretaville in the airport,
and then headed our separate ways, hopeful to meet again soon! Our flight was
a little late, but only by 30 minutes. We got in around 11, and home around
midnight.
This Hedo III vacation was fantastic. The staff, including our great
bartenders (and Anicka), and Spike, and JoJo, was excellent. The people is
what makes this place great... everyone was wonderful. And the friends we
made were wonderful, outgoing, fun, energetic people that I hope we remain in
contact with for a long time to come. I can't say how much we had a wonderful
time. I hope we can make it back for the late February lifestyles trip, but
even if there's no room then, we'll do our best to make it back soon... maybe
March, 2005.
By the way, if anyone met us, knows us, and/ or was there with
us and would like to see our pictures, send me your email address and I'll
send you a link to our on-line photo album. My email is
