Steve & Lela - WWW2003 July

Our trip report.

Looks like Ive been elected to do the trip report,, so here goes our Hedo Virgins Report. We were having too much fun to keep a daily report so Ill just list things by highlights of the trip.

The Flight:

I HATE to fly. Leland LOVES to fly. The flight from New Orleans to Jamaica took over 4 hours with connections, etc. so we had a compromise we drove 17 hours to Miami to save a few hours on the plane and 1 up and 1 down. Leland didnt think this much of a compromise, and dont think shell go for that one again. Got to the airport early in the morning ready to get primed in the bar. Bars all closed, so onto the plane sober! The flight down of 1 hours was actually good with both smooth take off and landing. Phew!!

The Bus Ride:

I guess by now youve figured out Tim air was not an option. We had some concern about the bus ride, particularly after reading the trip reports about the bus rides from hell. We piled onto a full bus of people and luggage and it turns out our driver was really sedate and very interested in telling us all about the area. Ended up being a great ride and learned a lot too.

Check In:

Got to the front desk area filled out our forms and waited for room assignment. Had lunch, and waited for our room assignment. Had drinks, and waited for our room assignment, walked around the resort, and waited for our room assignment. The girl at the front desk said no worries it will be worth the wait. Finally! A little over 3 hours, our room assignment, first floor on the nude side, ocean view. It was worth the wait!!

Going Naked:

First time for us, so it was time to make up our minds, were here, were on the nude side either we go for it or wimp out. Went down to the prude pool bar, it was virtually empty. Spoke with the bartender who looked like the Maytag repairman, bored!! He told us all the fun and action was on the nude side. Our minds were made up. Off to the nude beach to find a secluded area to gently slip into this nude thing. Found a couple of chairs in the back and dropped our clothes, and realized that it was all no big deal. We actually felt more out of place with the clothes on. Then off to the pool to join in with the group.

The Pool & Corner Group

Got to the pool and got a few drinks from Delroy for a little more liquid courage. We noticed that there was a group of about 10 people in the corner having fun. So we sat and watched, before long they had invited us in and the week was off and running. We immediately noticed that although having great fun, everyone was very respectful of each other and let everyone party at their own comfort level, so we felt at ease right away.

Daily Routine

It wasnt long before we fell into the daily routine of breakfast, float on the rafts, go to the pool, dinner, piano bar, then hot tub in the evening. It was just all so relaxing, yet so much fun to be around everyone at the same time. All of our fears and reservations about this whole trip had quickly faded into the background never to reappear.

Fun & Games

Here we have to stop and thank our Hedo mentors of Chip & Patty. They took us in under their wings and with their guidance we had more fun than weve had in years. Boundaries had been established that made us all comfortable, so let the games begin. Watersliding, body shots, fun in the Grotto, and more. Leland who is normally fairly shy and reserved joined in with the groups plan to confuse Dave at the piano bar, and before they knew it there were 7 of them dancing on the piano and Dave seemed to be at a loss for words. But some of our best days were just enjoying being with everyone, lazing in the ocean or pool talking and joking around.

Room Switch;

After the fourth day our room started leaking water from the bathroom ceiling, not bad at first, but soon we had Lake Negril under the bed. Called the front desk, they told us to pack and wed be moved right away, cant beat that. Within hour we were settled in room 2180, the last room before the nude hot tub, a great room and only a few steps from everything. We were happy campers, and impressed with the way it was all handled by the staff.

Catamaran Trips

We did both the day and night trips and both were special in their own way. We had great fun on the day trip snorkeling around and then watching the people jump from the cliffs into the water, Rasta Ralphie entertaining us, and then riding in the net getting a special ride. The night trip was just romantic and relaxing, it was glow night so Im sure we all could be seen for miles. The night was perfect, and the crew was accommodating, especially Doctor Mellow with his special concoctions.

Making Friends;

In general I would categorize the www group as being very friendly, outgoing and fun, yet respectful of everyone around them. I was really impressed and glad to be part of a group that showed respect to all, yet still knew how to have fun. Both Leland and I feel so privileged to have met so many nice people including guests and staff. Although everyone we met from the group was great, I would like to especially thank, Chip & Patty, Mike & Shellee, Dave & Jody, Gary & Georgette, Mike & Wendy, Jackie & Richard, Mac & Sylvia, Paul & Mary, John & Laura, Cliff & Theresa ,and Dave & Tracy for their thoughtfulness for everyone, Danimal or is it now Bananimal with his ever present smile, and last but not least Denny. We know that joining up with the WWW group was the part that made this our best vacation ever. Our thanks and gratitude to Denny who just seemed to float around the pool checking to see that everyone was happy and taken care of, in his low key way. Although I did see a few real extra happy smiles on his face that week. Wonder why??

Leaving:

The worst part for us was to watch our newly found friends start to filter away and go home. As this was happening we knew our trip was coming to an end. Flying out on Air Jamaica was a plus as all of the luggage was handled at the resort and made our departure a breeze. After checking our luggage we couldnt wait to make one more trip to the pool to relax before we left and kind of pretend the trip wasnt over. But soon it was time to get the bus back to the airport, as we put our clothes back on by the pool we knew that the best vacation that we have ever had in our 20 years of marriage was now coming to a close, but now it was time to plan our next WWW trip for the upcoming year.

Thanks Denny for all you do for the group and thanks to all of our new friends that helped make this the most memorable trip ever.
