I guess it's about time for my trip report having been about a month since my return from my first Hedonism III trip.
Everyone's been asking me if I like Hedonism III or Hedonism II better. That's a lot like asking if someone likes to have sex more in the morning or in the evening. Of course the politically correct answer is to say that I like both (regarding the resorts and sex). The resorts are different - in both the physical aspects and in the intangibles. They aren't intended to be exact copies of each other. Yes, there are similarities and there are differences, too. The differences are not necessarily good vs. bad differences ... they are just differences. Hedo III does have TVs in the rooms - but I never turned mine on once during the stay so it was a non-issue for me.
I enjoyed the opportunity to visit a different resort. I've been going to Hedonism II 2 or 3 times a year now for the last few years. Not that it was getting to be blas or boring - but it was good to spend some time someplace else. It afforded me the opportunity not only to visit a new resort, but to also meet people that I wouldn't have otherwise met. For me the measurement of a good time is the people I meet while on a trip and not the food, the room, or the music in the disco. I did have the fortune to meet many wonderful people and look forward to seeing them again.
I found the Hedonism III staff always ready to act on any request that I had. And surprisingly, it was was usually acted on the same day. Our WWW group was made to feel very welcomed. Even though it was the first WWW trip to Hedo III, most of the staff seemed to be aware of our group.
A high point of the trip was visiting the Beverly Basic school to deliver the school supplies and other presents that were graciously donated by the WWWers. You can see pictures of that event - here. The children were a bit leery when we first arrived. But by the time we left, they were singing us songs, giving us hugs and saying thank-you. It always makes me feel good to help out the kids. Thanks to all who participated. Your generosity was appreciated.
The trip was successful enough that I am planning another WWW trip to Hedonism III later in 2004. Watch the message board and the email newsletters for details coming soon. I also plan to have a repeat May trip to Hedonism III in 2004.
