CURTIS and DEBBIE WET, WILD and WICKED TRIP HEDO III MAY 2003
About 3 months before the trip we decided to do something very different for us. The closest thing we had ever done to Hedo was some beaches in Mexico that allowed girls to be topless. We had heard of Hedo and decided to check it out. We found Denny's site and read all the trip reports and decided we were going to give it a try! We were very apprehensive about what was going to happen at Hedo. We watched the message boards, chatted in the Sunday chat room and even did the Yahoo cam chats the last week before going. We spent a lot of time shopping for outfits (a lot of fun in itself)! The time arrived and we were on our way both excited and nervous. We met one couple on the plane, they almost missed it! When we got off the plane and went to the Superclubs desk we met some of the people we had chatted with and it was so much fun being there face to face with people we had chatted with. As luck would have it we met several wonderful couples on the long bus ride to HEDO III, that had been before and they really helped us and eliminated some of our fears (or at least Debbie's). Their enthusiasm was contagious. Loads of thanks!!!!!
Then there is the stop and getting our first taste of Red Stripe (didnt exactly taste like I expected). The bus made a stop to let a few couples off at Breezes. They really looked uncomfortable being with the HEDO group!!!
We arrived at the resort already with good friends. The staff brought us Red Stripe and Rum punches while we checked in. The staff was wonderful especially the Entertainment staff. Some of the rooms were not ready, but ours was. Our bags were put in the room; it was very nice and clean. We had no problems with the room! The shower didnt work very well but they fixed it right after we asked about it. We changed into our bathing suits and out the door to explore. We walked through the nude side to see what it was like. We walked around the rest of the resort and it was very nice. We then took the plunge and went to the nude pool. It was amazing how quickly you get used to being naked in public. It seemed so natural. It was very hard to go to our neighborhood pool and keep our clothes on!
We had more fun with people we had just met. We partied like we were 25 again. We enjoyed a lot of everything. We enjoyed the Piano bar before the disco opened, We enjoyed the disco and dressing for the theme nights but the most fun was having people there we could do all these things with. We have not laughed so hard for so many days in a very long time. I cant imagine going to HEDO without going thru a site like Dennys that gives you the opportunity to be with a group. We now have friends all over the world even a party couple from the artic circle and England. We started emailing people when we came home. It was so nice being included.
We did not have hardly any negatives on this trip. We thought that the prude pool was a waste of space. The nude pool is small compared with that pool and the prude pool is hardly used. The temperature in the hot tubs was very unpredictable. One night it was too hot to get in, the next was too cold. The quad tub seemed to be a little more consistent and not as crowded.
I would not say the food was great but it was good. Always found something we liked. The best was the pastafaria restaurant. The deserts were very good. I never thought I would say this but the drinks usually had too much alcohol.
The highlight of the resort is the hot tubs after going to the Disco. They were sooo much fun. Games and fun!! We played dice and "Simon says", some even had sex while they were talking with us (someone didnt even notice)! Anything can happen in the tubs. It was fun watching some of the younger shyer couples, get comfortable and get in the spirit of HEDO. The catamaran cruise came a close second. We were not the party people as some who were able to watch the sun come up but we didnt get a lot of sleep either!
We knew to expect PDA'a and to see nudity but there were a few on the prude side that were offended by nudity (dont come to HEDO if you dont want to see naked people). When we made a nude slide run some actually left the area!!! Too bad for them. It was such fun. Almost everyone was there to have fun not to judge or make anyone feel uncomfortable. We were amazed that it did not seem to matter what your age or looks, everyone was accepted as they were. The unfortunate part is that there were so many people in the group that we did not get to know all of them!
We cant finish the trip report without mentioning the wedding! It was a pleasure getting to know the bride and groom and witness their wedding!! What a fun couple!!
We get home and immediately check the site for reports and yahoo to chat with all our newfound friends. It really is addictive!!
I hope we can visit many of the people we met at HEDO! If we dont get to visit, I am sure we will get to see them again next year at HEDO! Truly one of the best vacations we have ever had!
