Rupe & Patty - WWW2001 Winter

WWW 12/5 12/15

This was a trip that was most needed for us this year. With everything else that is going on in the world and our lives we NEEDED to get away and relax with friends and I can not think of a better place or people to vacation with. First off Thank you Denny & Diane for all your work organizing the WWW week it sure makes a trip to Hedo extra special! The DIF has set in but the H25 colds are almost gone. Thank you Denny for your web site. We have been reading the message boards and the trip reports from others thinking that we should finish ours so here it is.

The best thing about WWW week is the people!

Some Things in traveling have changed

Extra security precautions.

Armed national guardsmen at the airport.

Confiscated scissors in NY.

Confiscated matches, batteries & lighters at MoBay

Hand  checked most of the carry on luggage at MoBay..

Random checks of carry on at JFK.

Customs officials in the hallway at boarding at JFK, questioning a few as to why they are going to Jamaica

Some new stuff at the resort

New decking, around prude pool and new tile floor in disco, very slippery...

Check in being done more efficiently we had our keys in hand right away, but changed rooms (no problem mon!) the next morning since we prefer H block, 2nd floor and that was not available on Wednesday.

Construction made it a longer walk to the main dinning area but not bad, it was a little exercise everyday at least.

The new Japanese restaurant not opened yet but they were testing the grills the day we left.

The new slide not finished but they are working on it! Waiting for parts from Canada is what we were told.

The new pool was not opened but we tested it out, danced on the new pool table after PJ night.

The ice skating rink, not sure about that!

The rock climbing wall we found it but it was not opened yet.

The prude side volleyball court, closer to the water & the tree does not interfere as much, played two games over there nude of course!

Most of the staff has been forced to take extended vacation time but we were fortunate to see most of our favorites.

The WWW Vacation, it cant be beat!

We met many new people and renewed friendships with many from past WWW trips! The people are what make the WWW week so wonderful. The downside is there is always something going on & not much naptime. I will not give you a day by day since it is all a foggy fun memory. We found ourselves getting to bed around 3 or so most nights & up around 9:30, in time for one of Charlies famous omelets.

Some of the highlights of our trip were the WWW cruises. The crew of the catamaran is great & they sure know how to throw a party. Rasta Ralphie keeps the party games & music going and Jennifer makes sure we behave enough not to get hurt. If you have never enjoyed one of the cruises put that on your to do list. The view of the coastline is wonderful. Since we did the WWW cruise it was mostly nude, of course Annie showed up in one of her little itty-bitty bathing suits but soon is as naked as the rest of us. Tell me Annie or Bill, do they make them any skimpier? Swimming in the caves at the Pickled Parrot is a hoot; the water actually looks green over there since it is a sandy bottom. I have never jumped off the cliffs but one of these days I just might try it. (NOT, I do not like heights) We went on both of the WWW cruises. I took our waterproof camera and enjoyed watching the brave souls that jumped off the cliffs. Even those that did it out of fear, you go Kris! How come Joe didnt jump too? Jim had to try both of them a couple of times to see which one was higher. Janie & I watched from the safety of in the water. The Friday night evening cruise was beautiful, we played a few games, drank too much, enjoyed the jello shots; (thanks to T. Wayne, Steve & Char) and the kisses from John or was that really Kenny Rogers. We did see a lot of shooting stars this trip almost everynight. One night we went to the beach looking for some quiet spot to see the stars, it was too funny, thanks for the laughs Jim, Janie, Jim & Leesa! We did see the best shooting star I have ever seen that night, very bright & long. We dont ever see them like that in our area.

The Magical Mystery Tour was on Monday after the Wet Tee Shirt Contest. Thanks to Steve & Nancy for organizing it. However; next time let Rupe know his job responsibilities before hand, you almost ruined his reputation telling everyone he was in charge of the prude bus, besides Laina was entertaining all of us on the trip back (LOL). We went to the shopping mall, not like anything I see in America. Dont forget to bring a quarter if you need to use the restrooms. (Thanks Edie!) Next stop was the famous Margaritaville; it has some shops, a bar and a beautiful beach. We kept hearing an announcement that No one is allowed to be nude on the beach! so we went in the water. There is a giant floating trampoline a short swim out which we all had to try of course. Have you ever tried to jump on a crowed trampoline? How about just stand with a dozen other people? Between the movement of the waves and the people it is not easy! After a few drinks and a swim it was back on the bus to head over to Ricks caf for the sunset and to watch the cliff divers. The locals that dive are wonderful; there were a few brave tourists that also tried it but no one from our group did. After sunset we loaded up the bus again to head back to Hedo, with a quick stop at Jennys, we skipped the brownies instead of missing the rest of the night. Since it was Monday the WWW group organized a Patriotic Theme night. Rupe looked a little like Tom Petty in his red white & blue. There also were a lot of Canadian colors around. I think this theme night was a lot of fun, there was quite a variation as to what was worn or not. Steve & Char shared some tattoos that Steve was willing to put on securely, my arm is still bruised, of course he seemed to enjoy applying them to any willing female including Roxy, he kept telling her that he needed to use his tongue!

We had the best WWW welcoming party. It was such an awesome sight to see the stage with all the gifts from our group; I would venture to say we had 99% participation. Seeing all those gifts on stage and then hearing about how they were so well received only added to our vacation. Thank you Diane for the get to know you game. It was fun to introduce yourself to someone, tell him or her you could answer question number whatever and then see which one they could sign for you. We got to talk with many new people trying to find out the answers

Toga night another highlight! The talent show was really good. A couple of sisters with beautiful voices, they were wonderful and a hard act to follow. Danimal of course did just that and looked great in his version of a Japanese toga. Superman took the floor over doing his fireman thing and was defiantly in the winner circle until Rupe decided to lend assistance I do think that Dennis got even with him when Rupe took a short nap on the beach. The WWW silver & gold togas looked GREAT! The best toga couple was won a second year by HedoBob & Maaagie! Leesa & Edie also won a prize for on toga night! We then all headed to the prude pool for some nude volleyball! We never did get our Hedo bucks for that did we?

Dinner at Pastafaris is always a treat when they let us in! We behaved most nights when we went to Pastafaris but Denvar is still leery when we show up. I believe we only had the right number of people in our reservation number one night, (reserve for 12 show up with 20) Michael, the waiter is the best, he just smiles and takes it all in stride! Rupe was the official panty checker that night. I want to know who he caught first, was it Leesa or Elaine? If he assumed that position anywhere but Hedo he would be arrested. (That is part of what makes Hedo so much fun, doing stuff out of the norm) Well as the official panty checker he had almost a full party bag at one point, even Dave the piano man was advertising for him that night. It must have been Elaines fault, I hear she is to blame for the H25 colds we all got too! I guess we could blame it all on her & then thank her for sharing all the fun with us. (You are the best!) To those of you that donated to the panty checker, I hope you all got the right ones back and if not check with Dave the piano man. Phyllis you are a great sport, you donated with more difficulty than most; you had on slacks but that, like nothing else, ever stops you. I believe we had the fortune to meet you & Dean on our very first May  99 trip to Hedo and many more since, we always enjoy seeing you & playing volleyball with Dean while you & Rupe are the official spectators, collecting more Hedo bucks than us sometimes.  Of course then there is Thea, making a donation to the panty checker, a bra at Hedo? What were you thinking? We hardly ever saw you and Tex except at dinner that one night and I think that was because you had broken the bed or the beach staff was concerned from the noise. You added extra fun to our crazy group, at least when we saw you!  ;-) Hopefully you will be able to visit with the rest of us a little more next WWW!

I believe this was a first, the Men in Motion contest had more WWW men in it than the Wet T Shirt contest had WWW women in it, congratulations to Jean for winning 2 years running! As far as the men go we applaud you, Nick, Dennis, Steve, Kevin and all the rest! Will the real T.Wayne please stand up! And Superman, where are you now!

To some of our new friends from out West Coast way, Dave & Laina, you guys are great! We were lucky to meet you before the rest of the WWW group showed up because then things start to blend together. Thanks for the picnics & the sambucca. I think you started a new tradition, the repeaters party will be formal towel wear from now on! I do believe that Laina was nude in more places than Rupe this year. You go girl!

One of the first friends to come up behind Rupe & grab him was the lovely Chris Santelli! What a wonderful surprise, we have corresponded with Chris, got quoted in her book and actually met her this past summer in NJ but Rupe knew right away who it was. He swears he can tell by the NBH who someone is! Between her and Doug (hedodude) our sides hurt from the shared laughter. No wonder his posts on the message board are so worth reading, he seems to find the humor in everything and ready to be serious when necessary. Thanks Doug. By the way did anyone ever collect the 7,000,000,000 hedo bucks? Or attend your bible study class? Also the little old lady in Margarittaville was still smiling an hour after you left! ;-)

We were privileged to witness the renewal of wedding vows and love on the nude beach. CJ & Elaine, you two fit together in a beautiful way. It is wonderful to witness a couple so much in love. We wish you many years of shared joy. Some of the little things about your ceremony that were note worthy was the way your flowers matched your cast, how is the arm? A sight you missed was to see DJ & Laina in there nude wedding beach attire, one shared towel held up in front of them while there butts were still totally exposed!

There were so many people that we shared laughs with I know I will forget someone so please forgive us. Smiling Joe & Kris, Brett & Christie, do you now understand why I said you could not be a slug and part of the WWW experience? We are so glad you decided to join us in December, and we look forward to sharing a more relaxing vacation you in May.

Curtis, good to see you without your food in a cast this year.

Jim & Nissa (our daughters twin) we knew you were missing in action last year but dont let it happen again! It was so wonderful to see you both again & share some fun! Now that Jim is King will he be willing to go on vacation with us peasants again? I hope so because he volunteered to do the men in motion & backed out with some lame excuse about overheating? We know where you really were!

Another couple that took a year off to re coop from the WWW 99 trip was Jim & Janie, next year you will have to stay longer to make up for the time you spent in the classroom this trip.

Keith and Ursla, I know we have been there before at the same time but this was the first time we got a chance to get to know you, we look forward to seeing you again.

Clint & Della, it was fun to see you both again and play volleyball with you.

Robin & Nick, the first people we met at the airport, OK so you were nude before us but they put us on the next plane so it wasnt that long. I hope you get some good reports & decide to join us again next WWW.

Thank you to Laura, my personal shopper, Rupe doesnt think I should go shopping with you again (LOL).

Elaine, Bernie, Jerry & Edie the people we seemed to spend the most time with. Next trip Edie will have to go on our bus for the Magical Mystery Tour, I will bring extra Hedo bucks as long as you help Rupe instigating whatever it is he is suppose to be responsible for. Jerry, we like the way you think but it is scary sometimes when you & Rupe come up with the same idea at the same time! I do agree that Wallyworld would fit nicely in those tennis courts that no one ever seems to use. By the way Bernie, did you ever find that pissboy with your bucket? We will have to find one for you next trip.

HedoBob I think we might live in the same neighborhood with some of your stories, I passed one of those car pools the other day & just laughed thinking of you! Zilla it was fun to be able to put a face with the posts on Dennys board finally.

Hazel & Jamie, we are glad that decided not to ditch us this year. Thanks for putting your name on the back of your hat, now if Rupe remembers to wear his eyeglasses he will have no excuse.  Jeff and Cathy it was fun to see you both again and share some time floating in the lagoon. We look forward to crossing paths with you again on another trip.

To everyone else whose path we crossed or laugher we shared Thank you, it is the people that we meet at Hedo that keep us going back. The resort itself is not a 5 star resort but it is fun. The rooms are generally clean, the beds are too hard, the food is OK, not wonderful and not much variety most nights. Roberts Grill is very good, especially those fries! It seems like it is the little things that would make a big difference in upgrading the resort. I do not understand why the bars run out of booze and clean glasses. There are ashtrays on every table in the dinning room yet we were using candleholders in Veronicas and they were very scarce at the nude pool. The pasta bar added a nice variety to the main dinning room menu but it was inconsistent, as was the salad bar. Some nights you could make a nice salad and others there was hardly any basic salad makings. The construction will eventually be done and hopefully will add to the overall fun at the resort but why is it all on the prude side, do they really need to ice skate or rock climb?

We are already looking forward to our next trip to Hedo, even though it is not perfect but then again neither are we.

Until next time, Respect to all.

Patty & Rupe
