Two Hedo virgins woke up an hour earlier than necessary,
due to excitement and arrived at the airport 3 hours before departure, (1 hour
before the Air Jamaica ticket counter even opened). The plane was only about
full. Three hours later, we landed in Mobay and breezed right through
customs and immigration. We took the 2-hour bus ride to see the land, (and
Nancy is not fond of small planes). Got in just before 3:00 and the room not
ready, so we had lunch and a drink. We then strolled down to the nude
beach/pool area. We felt so out of place with clothes on.
We quickly left and went back up front to find our room was now ready.
We got in, shed the clothes and headed back to the nude pool. Now we
felt much better.
Note: The construction outside our door always slowed
down when the beautiful Nancy stepped out. She is partially to blame for the
slow progress.
We grabbed drinks and started meeting the many people we
had met electronically over the past months. Wow! What a great group!
The hot tub was quite lively that first evening. There
were lots of people and lots of activity. We were definitely not in
Kansas (or Houston) any more. No Problem Mon.
We tried to experience everything. We did both WWW private cat cruises, did the Magical Mystery
Tour, snorkeled, paddled a kayak, and took a small cat out for a sail. We
spent almost all the time at the nude beach and pool/hot tub area. We usually
had lunch there, instead of going to the main dinning room. (You dont have
to get dressed for lunch there.) We walked over to the prude side once to look
around. It was dead. OK, been there, done that.
Nancy, although having never even seen a wet t-shirt
contest, entered one on Monday. She didnt win but she got my vote and she
had a lot of fun. A few other ladies that had committed to enter, backed out
at the last minute. No names
mentioned here, but you know who you are. They dont know what they missed.
We spent a few evenings at the piano bar. Dave is very
entertaining and talented. He referred to me as Kenny Rogers all week. In
respect to Kenny and everyone else, I never sang. Everyone within eat shot
should thank me.
In addition to all the folks we saw and e-mailed before
the trip, we also met Chris & Doug. They are both such fun people. If you
tell Doug one joke hell tell you 20 or more. He had us in stitches several
times that week. My Nancy &
Chris sang a duet for me at Veronicas.
Chris also got us in a couple of car wash lines. That was another
first for us. I can still hear Chris yelling, Ive got a dicky!
Funny story:
On the way back from the MMT, someone suggested we get
naked on the bus, so we did. Nancy
had just met Dennis, a little younger she, and was sitting next to him and
talking. She said that Dennis and
he kept calling her ma'am. When we all took our clothes off, he stopped
calling her ma'am. Funny how getting nekid breaks down the formalities.
Another One:
A month before our trip I was shopping for a digital
camera. I mentioned to the kid in the camera dept. that we were going to
Jamaica. He said his sister was going soon also, but she wasn't going to that
Hinduism place. Since then we referred to our vacation as our
"religious retreat".
I will always remember Wednesday at Veronicas. Nancy
& I were celebrating 20 years together. After she and Chris sang the duet,
Nancy got up on the piano and did the "piece by piece" dance for me.
I was so busy watching and enjoying that I didnt get any good pictures. Oh
well, Ill never forget it. Thank you my love.
