Steve & Char (WWW Winter 2000)

Dec 2000 Winter WWW Trip Report

It started December of 99 our first WWW trip, before the end of the week we were planning next years trip with the WWW group.

The year went by rather quickly. Shopping for new Hedo items, chatting on line with old and new friends, and sharing thoughts and ideas with the group, makes the time fly.

We would like to take this time to give Denny a special thanks for his site and unselfishness, truly one of the unsung heroes of the universe.

Our flight to MoBay was old hat by now. It is still 16 hours from home to MoBay, a grueling red eye flight with anticipation running so high that sleep is out of the question. Arriving at MoBay at 9:30 A.M. we opted for the bus as rooms are never ready before 1:P.M. anyhow.

This year the bus was better than last, more of the new road but most importantly we met up with Carla and Ian, another WWW couple we had chatted with on line. Also sharing the bus was Jim and Tammy, not WWWs this year, but I think we converted them and they will be with us next Dec. We also learned there is

less expensive Red Stripe to be had. Ian and I told the driver we wanted beer but not the 5 and 2.50 a bottle stuff we had on previous trips, we wanted to buy beer where he got his. He stopped at a grocery store along the way, ice cold and some Jamaican coinage change less than a U.S. dollar a bottle. Later in Negril I learned this coinage would not pay to use the toilet at the mall. Makes an O.K. suveniour for nieces and nephews. Also, a lesson learned, do not over indulge in this inexpensive Red Stripe, it has same potency as the 5 buck a bottle stuff.

We arrived at the resort at 11:30 and to no surprise we were told to go have lunch our room was not ready.

We also ran into Denny in the lobby who introduced us to Kathleen (another online chat) of Kathleen and Allen. The first familiar face we see in the dining room is our dear friend Miss Miami. Wow, we are really home. As soon as we finish lunch we check again and we have a room, not a good room, too close to basketball court but it is the disco that is the real annoyance. So now we are off to Delroys , it was great to be greeted by several old friends. It seems we knew over half the people there. Rupe, Patty, Diane, that couple with the star in their window, Jim, Lisa, and several non WWW people. Even people we had not seen since last year, all welcomed us like family. This is part of the Hedo magic.

I missed dinner the first nite. (see lesson on too much Red Stripe) Char dined with the couple from Texas and brought me an ice cream desert which I ate and went to bed. (see 16 hr. in air and airports topped off by afternoon at Delroys and too much Red Stripe)

Next day and rest of trip the weather was fantastic. The people were even better than we remembered. Old and new friends alike the magic was there, everything we did was just enjoyable. Chatting, drinking, dining,

snorkeling, floating, the cat cruise, PJ nite, toga, black and glow, Poliniesian nite, even Hedos house entertainment was better than ever.

Our third day we were moved to a room center nude garden, complete with erratic hot water pressure. Now we were truly home. By the way, our WWW neighbors more than compensated for the hot water.

Someone on the message board asked for smut, E-Mail me for a private account of Walter. This guy proved truth is stranger than fiction.

The Pasta Rasta dinning experience was great, same old ho hum Italian food cooked to Jamacian screw up. The dinner company more than pulled the slack to make this a true dinning experience. Brow beating the servers and suppimenting the entries from the main dinning hall made this a meal not to miss. Throw in Elaines pronounciations and we didnt need a floor show. Partymons gift to the server insured an end to the service. (this guy wanted to get home, now!)

Toga nite was much improved over last year by the addition of purple togas and the good company. Even Maaaggie had a royal looking toga. Her and Bob were the envy of all.

Black and Glow nite was a hoot. HedoBob,GlowBob or just plain Bob was to thank for all the participation. Thanks to his efforts everyone got involved. Thanks Bob, we all owe you one.

Bare as you Dare nite, wouldnt you know, the most conservative guy we know steels the show. Kieth, we thought the jerk sauce at the hot tub was the ultimate but noooooo you really out did yourself with the latex body paint suit. For a virgin you did alright. Are you planning to try this one again? Practice makes perfect. Perhaps next year we may join you in this misadventure if you get the bugs worked out.

The private WWW cruise had to be the best yet. Thanks to The Texas Couple (not to be confused with the other Texas couple)  Tex and Julie,we were again provided with some fine Texas shooters. Their shooters are just the beginning, they are  fine company themselves. Jerry of Edie and Jerry even took Maagie for a swim. The cliff jumping was really something, Stacy and Bob being the stars.

There were more PDAs than in the past, the Energizer Bunnys, the Snack Pac and Walter. May-be in Walters case it is Public Display of self Abuse? I know we and Julie will never forget that other couple from Texas. Anyway, nobody was forced to watch.

As in the past, we started planning our next vacation before we even left the resort so I think it is safe to say we will be back.

This time we played a lot of vollyball, the WWW group brought a whole new energy to the game. Thanks, guys and gals.

Next time we need to really get into the body painting on the beach. Also in the dinning hall if Keith can perfect the clean-up.

Also I must mention the evening at Veronicas       and  YES thanks to T Wayne for finally singing for us..

Right Julie.

Sorry   but I do have to mention this : As most of the WWW group were gone and we were there a few extra days, Dont schedule for days after your group is gone as the beach, ,dining room, hot tub were        very dead. But that Saturday night we did finally have a wonderful LOBSTER dinner.

There was one down side to this trip. Our flight home leaves MoBay at 9:30 A.M. this means taking the bus at 6:00 A.M. or as we tried this time Tim Air at 8:30. Well, let me dispel the myth of Tim Air. The plane was so small one of our bags would not fit and had to be left for next plane. Our weight and our baggage weight required that the co-pilot be left behind with our extra bag! I got to ride in the co-pilot seat and nearly went postal. The pilots door would not stay latched, the instruments were  iffy at best and if the engine were not over due for an over-haul.  Ill kiss your a** in front of the courthouse.  Ill never get in that little red plane again.  Ill walk even if that means carrying  Chars bags.

Thanks to all for sharing your vacation with us, we had a wonderful time and hope to see everyone again next year.
