Just a ride from JFK
In a story from the Observer ( http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news...-landing-form-online_122409?profile=1373 ), the Jamaican Immigration and Customs agencies are about to introduce an online version of the paper form known as the C5.

Well, this might be a watershed moment and mean that the use of Club MoBay may not be so useful.

Or

It could be the introduction of even more arrival chaos. Recall that Sangster introduced kiosks that mostly do not work, reportedly. I always suspect any organization that proudly announces that their new software application was developed "inside" (to save money) has not been throughly tested before going on-line.

I plan to use the app, but I also plan to fill out the paper form as a backup.

If this be a dream do not wake me up; if not a dream, wish me no sleep

I suspect more chaos. When people cannot even use their credit cards in Jamaica without them being captured and hijacked, even at their hotel's front desk, how are we supposed to trust putting our passport info out there for all to see?

And besides...just because it's in an online format that comes up when we show our passport at immigration, they still need to read it all. The article says it speed immigration...HOW? We fill out the form on the plane before standing in line to enter Jamaica. The paper method seems faster to me because you hand it to the immigration officer instead of them scanning your passport or entering info to call up what you entered online. Just look what chip technology has done to slow down payments in stores. Geesh!

Chris
