I honestly think I could handle living at Hedo II for a solid month. Or perhaps book Hedo II for 3 weeks and finish off our trip at Breezes next door for the last week.

Has anyone ever done this? The cost would not be THAT bad, you only fly once. Would we get bored after that long of a time?

Chad

As much as I like the Hedo magic, a month would be a nightmare, not a dream. The most I have done is two weeks and that was at a time that I was a Helluva lot younger. Too much eating, too much drinking- sensory overload!

77 days is like 11 weeks.
From New Years thru St Patrick's Day.
I'd be an amorphous blob when I returned from that trip...

The most we've done is 2 weeks and you really have to pace yourself and know to take your down time when you can. I know Chris would go crazy with boredom after about 2 weeks. And it does become a bit of a chore putting yourself out there to meet people after a couple of week rotations of groups in/out. You do tend to take more down / alone time for sure.

If you maybe mixed in a few nights off the resort every couple of weeks, maybe staying some little place up on the cliffs to get away...I think that would be more fun (for us anyway).

But hey...go for it. Best yet...blog it, so we can follow along.

If you think that's hard for guests, think about the EC's doing it week after week! My hat's off to them.

Respect.

I did 17 days once. Likes - relaxing, no rushing "to do everything", meeting lots of people, getting a superb tan. Dislikes - fighting boredom, the food, too much drinking and having to spend all that time with my ex-wife crazy

Follow your dream! Unless it's the one where you're at work in your underwear during a fire drill.

If I stayed long-term at Hedo II as a guest, by myself, and wrote a daily blog of my experiences, as time went by my posts would sound more and more like Tom Hanks talking to himself in the movie Cast Away while he was marooned on that little island. To be happy staying long-term at Hedo II (or in any vacation setting), I would need to be doing part-time volunteer work or have a part-time job to not feel "marooned."

We did 23 days once. It's all about pacing yourself. I loved meeting all the people over that time span. We enjoyed ourselves but missed the cats too much.

We did the seventeen day stay a few times but decided that even Hedo loses its charm after that long. It's a shame that all the wonderful things you go there to see, do and experience become too ordinary. When Hedo really became "home" for us, we didn't need the first few days to unwind. Relaxation and calm began from the moment we walked under the bridge that connects H block to the nude beach rooms. Why that particular spot, I don't know, but that did it for us. A week for us is just right.

We use to do 17 nights every yr and around the 14th day I hit the wall. Ended up staying in the room for a whole day. After that is was back to partying. Longest we ever did was 21 days.

We did 12 nights earlier this month and you're right, Liz, it was something of a chore meeting new people constantly. I know that sounds odd to some, but since we arrived mid week, we saw three complete turnovers in that time. We did 10 days in August, 2009, 8 in April 2010 and 12 this last trip and we've settled on 10 as the ideal number for us. The fact that we're coming from Southern CA and the trip takes about 13 hours door to door factors into this as well.

I'm as outgoing as the next person...but having done a couple of the 2 weeks stretches (we did 3 weeks in Jamaica for our wedding, but not all at Hedo)....it just gets to be too much for me. I love putting myself out there....but...I can only handle so much. I've recently figured out I'm much more of an introvert, than extrovert!

I imagine with the long travel time it's even more tiring. 10 days is perfect! Or 10 days there, then another 5 or 6 days on the cliffs, then back to Hedo for 5 or 6 nights...hmmm.....that sounds like a good plan!

My longest ever stay was 8 nights. I dream of staying longer sometime perhaps when both kids are away at college. If I can afford it with both of them in college that is. But at the end of a week I am generally ready to come home rather than have the theme nights, menus, etc... recycle on me.
I think my dream trip would be 20 nights. 5 at Couples Negril, 10 at Hedo, and then 5 more at CSA. The change of scenery would be better for me than being at Hedo the entire time.

I've been doing 10 day trips to where ever lately. A week is just too short to deal with the aggravation of flying and the TSA...

A long time ago, back in the late 90's I asked what it would cost to live at Hedo. I was told $45,000 a year per person.

The longest we have done at Hedo was 12 days. I was so miserable by the twelfth....twelthf....(damn) 12th day that I made Ron promise the next year we would bring our daughters down for a week of family vacation time!

Of course, Ron the party animal was still wanting to stay and party on, but he is a maniac!

repeatoffender4th,
We have ended up feeling the same way. Instead of going to Hedo twice as much or staying twice as long we long ago decided to start taking our kids to Jamaica (and other places) with us.
We took them to SuperClub Boscobel Beach when they were 4 and 7, then did some Beaches Resorts, some things in Mexico, Bahamas, and finally went to Breezes Runaway Bay with them as older teens not too long ago. I think doing that with our kids makes us enjoy our Hedo trips as a couple all the more. Both are very valuable experiences.

Once stayed for 16 days. I think we were ready for a break after 15, lol. Had no choice had to go home. Husband has always said if he won the lottery he would hand over the money and tell them to kick us out when it was gone.

I think I could get into living at Hedo if I could stay in one of the visitor cottages, or take two rooms and make one out of them on the nude beach.

Yea mon I agree with some of the others. We stayed longer than a week a few years back. We were so much younger then. We loved the atmosphere of Hedo. But you have to remember everything repeats its self after a week but the people change. Most of your friends that you waited all year to meet up with and have a blast are gone home. You have to meet new people and redo all the parties. You don't have the enthusiasm you had in the first week. But all in all any time in Hedo better than any time back here.

We have stayed slightly over a month when we were younger. Very hard to pace oneself and the first time, we had not planned to stay so long so we definitely did not have a battle plan in place. The change of atmosphere as the people changed was fascinating.I really think that a month for most people would be a waste of money. Staying two weeks perhaps then going to another resort for a few days and then returning might be fun. We have extended stays in Jamaica now but do not spend the entire time at the resort. After a few weeks, you just want to sit down at your favorite restaurant back home and order from an all American menu. You know that you have stayed in a former British territory too long when you return to the US and pull out on the wrong side of the highway.

HEDOMON, hit it right on the head about longer than one week stays, things repeat themselves. During out 17 night stays we were there for three PJ parties and three Toga parties. The Toga parties started to become a drag so we only went to one of them. We would do something off property for one of them and eat dinner on the beach for the second one and either make it an early night or go right to the piano bar. The other repeat thing that would get to me is the daily routine. Basicly, get up walk to dinning room for breakfast, walk back to beach. Walk to dinning room for lunch, walk back to beach. Go to dinner, then the piano bar, then feed the fish, then go to disco, then finish the night at the hot tub. That's why we started leaving the property at least twice during our stay during the day. We love walking the streets of Negril and going into their supper market. Now that we learned to use the local taxi's and not take the hotel shuttle it doesn't cost that much to go into town.

Back in my single days, I went to Hedo for 17 nights several years in a row. I did find that it went in 3-4 day cycles where I would have to meet new friends. It also went in cycles when I would be ready to go home (mostly the day after someone I had met went home). Then I'd want to stay for a few more days. When the trip was over, I generally wasn't ready to go having just met some new friends. But, by then, I was ready to go. But it didn't bother me.

I must say that I really, really wound down and took everything slow. I don't remember the "daily grind" getting to me. Sometimes it took me an hour or two to go from my room to my lounger.

8 days is my limit. To be honest, I'm not good at pacing myself and I eat too much and drink way to much. By the next to the last day I can't look at food or booze. Hubby on the other hand could stay indefinitely. MMMMMM Food for thought.
