Hello Hedo friends! Ok, so I first went to Hedonism in 2000 and went a number of times ending in 2003. Then I took a break and starting going back in 2021 after an 18 year break. This is all well and good, and here is/was my issue... I wanted to know how many times I had gone "back in the day" so I emailed the resort. They only could find ONE account of my stay from the years of 2000 to 2003. So then I emailed GoClassy Tours for their records, and they only have records dating back to 2003. And any forms of payments/email have been lost in time. (used old AOL email back then, who knows how I paid) So the ONLY way I could verify how many times I had been there? DennyP Trip Reports! Luckily I always took the time to write a report and post it, and even luckier - Denny P has a strong archive of trip reports, posts, etc. So I was able to verify for myself that I took 4 trips "back in the day". The only remaining issue is that Hedo still has no accurate record, which to me is REALLY weird. I don't like it, but what can I do? So thank you Denny for this website and all the efforts you've put into it down through the years. Much respect to you.

Since you know the dates that you went, you can legitimately claim those trips. The only reason I can think of for wanting Hedo to agree with your records is for the repeaters' party contest. Any other reason you care what H2 thinks?

#1. Repeaters Party #2. To reconfirm my own memory (started to doubt myself) #3. To solve my own little mystery by tracking down any information I could find from anywhere.
The point of the post was to thank Denny for being the only place to keep decades old records, not to explain why I wanted this information.

Good! Glad you gave the shout out. Denny is superb, and his site has been a great asset to many of us for years. The resort appeared to have accurate records of our trips, including a handful of our first ones from 2000 - 2003. They've always seemed to have a tally that's been accurate to verify the repeaters' party 'winners' assertions.

It was more difficult to tally back when Hedo III was a thing. Sometimes they would count those trips, sometimes not. When i used to do split trips (a week at each resort) each resort would try to claim the other Hedo stay didn't count. But some polite arguing usually sorted things out.
All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Couldn't you have just checked your passport? Assuming you saved old ones like I do.

That's what I've done too...agreed! Passports are a lovely record of past trips. Back when photos were more easy to take makes my photo albums a good source of old trip records too.

No worries.... those old one(s) would have only authenticated trips to Jamaica, so we'd still give you some shade re: trips to H2.

The odd thing: My name is super unique, there's not another one out there with my name. So finding me in the system should be pretty pretty simple. I even provided H2 with former address, who I traveled with, etc. Nada. They can only find 1 out of 4 - makes no sense to me and that's just the way it is.
Whatever! Heading back in June and November and we're super excited none-the-less.
Chad

Enjoy those upcoming trips! And not at all surprising that confusion reigns in the H2 front office. I was shocked that they seemed to know all our trips. Totally out of character from the "cutting edge record-keeping" in the 2000 time.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall that a number of years back, the resort's computer system crashed and was never fully restored -- as a result, they lost a great many records of past guest reservations. That might explain the unreliability of their office to be able to provide a precise number of prior visits. I guess as far as the Repeaters Party is concerned, they are forced to rely on the honor system from the guests, at least to some extent.

LOL..... "honor system". Har-dee-har-har. I think in all of the last 4-5 repeaters' parties we've attended, there were "winners" that had inflated their # of trips and were tossed out. Trust but verify.

So how can they accurately verify if their own record keeping system isn't reliable? FWIW, I've been going since 1988 but never tried to compete in the "most trips" part of the Repeater Party because I suspected my "win" would be tossed out because they couldn't confirm my number of trips.

Maybe I just didn't like their little snarky reply...
"Chad - we went back through our system, and honestly we can only account for the 4 trips as mentioned by Kirklando at the bottom. Do you have documentation to show otherwise?"
Excuse me? It's not an issue on my end, it's the resorts. Why must I need to prove my visits? I mean I don't, but if I want the number of stays officially recorded I do.

Now I guess the question is whether or not they'll accept your past Trip Reports from Denny's web site as acceptable "documentation" of your previous trips. Even if you print hard copies of the reports (assuming they're dated) and bring them with you to the resort as proof for your next Repeater Party, will they take that? I'm thinking that they're just looking for ways to weasel out of handing over free days for the sake of putting on a show of it at the party.

If you book with me, I can provide the resort's confirmation number and usually I have records of invoices.
