We just got our Covid test results yesterday per the Jamaica requirements and today discovered we have to find another test location and try and get another round of tests within 3 days of travel. This is cutting things close as we were told it may take up to 5 days to get the results.
I guess we can hope.

But you can get an antigen test now, instead of the PCR test. I heard antigen test results were practically immediate.

Best of luck.
Maybe you can find a rapid antigen test that meets Jamaica's requirements. I'm hoping that this crap has passed by the time i go in June.

Originally got tests 3/16 under the 10 day requirement Got results from Rite-Aid in 20 hours. The second place didn't have results for 5 days and they could not confirm CLIA Certification for the Lab so that was essential of no value.
Travel 3/25 so first test day 3/22 under the new rules
Got Both Rite-Aid and Walgreens tests
and found a 1 day test location 50 miles away and only $760 for the two of us as back-up if we didn't get results from the 3/22 tests

Got Both Rite-Aid and Walgreens both came through with Negative results and Lab Certification in 22 and 30 hours
so was able to cancel the expensive appointment scheduled this afternoon.
Will be on the beach, we hope, by 3PM 3/25. Would someone make sure there is still Red Stripe available? :-) I need more than one.

I see the post above regarding the $760 Covid test. I guess up until now, I haven't thought about the cost of these test. R&N says they were able to cancel the expensive tests, but what is the cost at Walgreens and Rite Aid? We are currently considering a trip, and just want to account for all costs and other concerns.

OK we are back home.
Testing Collected March Rite-Aid $0 and got results by email in 22 hours
Walgreens $0 got results by email in 30 hours
We also had samples collected at a "Free Clinic" in a local college town. Got results from them in 5 days :-(

Remember your mileage may vary.

RE costs: Other than what Denny (Go Classy) charges you do not have to spend another dime. BUT we do tip a couple of dollars here and there to people pulling our bags. We can afford it and I am sure it helps the people we interact with.
We chose to get a taxi for the 3rd year and went with Rocky's. Pre-paid but we tip the driver $10 each way. In the past, we took taxi > H2 as didn't like the occasional wait at MBJ for the bus to fill up and the time for a couple of extra stops on the way to H2.
This year as we were trying to be as Covis safe as possible we took Rocky's to and from H2.

Thank you R&N. We have been to Hedo many times, but we haven't been since Covid began impacting travel and impacted travel requirements, so those are the expenses I am most concerned about. Looks like some of the other items such as utilizing a private taxi service, are similar to what we have done in the past... thank you very much for your reply!!

Per CVS website - "Rapid-result testing locations perform antigen testing, which returns results within hours." Has anyone used this test to enter Jamaica? Rite Aid and Walgreen offer PCR testing which seem to take longer to get results.

Stressing out about getting results back in time to travel.

We used CVS Rapid test. After all the stress and hassle, we were disappointed no one wanted to look at it.

We flew out of BWI on SW on Easter Monday. SW rep looked at our Jamaica Permission form and said Jamaica would look at our test results. Neither immigration or customs asked about it. Finally when we got to Hedo they took it ans stapled it to our registration form.

In our area, the CVS with Minute Clinic does the rapid test. Other CVSs do the PCR. We got our rapid results in an hour.

End of March we flew AA out of Cleveland and the ticket agent asked for the test docs first thing.

Think of it as insurgence. If someone brought the Covid into Jamaica/Hedo, you can demonstrate it wasn't you.

All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Or you could think of it as "insurance" since *insurgence* might be a bit harsh for a holiday trip wink Sorry, couldn't resist!
