Hey everyone!
We are Jennifer and Mitch and we're taking our very 1st trip to Hedo in June!!!
I know Mitch has tons of questions but what I'd like to know is...the theme nights...does everyone go to ALL of them?
Which ones are "do not miss"
Will you feel out of place if you're not decked out in a full costume?

Thanks!

Jennifer

We love meeting new friends, live music, good food and... good sex!!

One thing you'll learn about Hedo is that there's never any pressure to do anything. So feel free to pick 'n choose which (if any) of the theme nights you dress for. The dressing up thing is a source of immense fun for some folks and for others, they could care less. If I had to guess, any particular week you may get 50/50 theme dressed vs. "street" clothes (that's Hedo "street" clothes - rarely anything you'd wear outside of the resort! LOL. Some groups get a bit more organized, so that will tip the scales toward more theme dressers. Also, some groups have their own theme nights - just to make things more confusing. Bottom line- if you like dressing up, go for it. You'll be fine, If you're lazy like me, just wear what you want - you'll be fine that way too. But as I noted, dressing up gives a lot of people joy and a way to meet new people. Welcome to the "family" and have a blast. Respect mon.

Indeed, some bring a full suitcase just for costumes!
Myself, I pick one or two nights I want to put effort into, for the rest I just sit back and watch.
No stress if you want to skip, your first trip is a learning experience.

All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Jennifer...welcome!! Part of the fun over our trips is the planning and preparing for the trip. Charlie and PP are spot on as usual. Participate at your comfort level...that said Hedo has a way of pushing our personal boundaries. I'm not saying that anyone should do anything they are not comfortable with, but choosing to go is the first step. Have a blast, stay safe and remember...once you go you know! Peace and Love!!

I agree with the above...and think the HedoII website has a list of the theme nights. They don't change overmuch over time, but periodically they try a new one. Pirates night only lasted a couple years (likely ended up being too much to pack for many--boots and hats, and such).

Toga night (Thurs.) is easy...just a piece of fabric to wrap around you...I use black chiffon with a belt. Others do white/roman themes.
Tues glow night is gorgeous with so many people wearing lights/glow costumes...nice dance party on the upstairs pool deck after dinner.

Chris

Most people just wear their theme outfits to dinner since the theme activities start before the end of the dinner period.

Welcome! Ditto the above comments. IMHO, you'll basically never feel out of place - just do as much or as little as you'd like. The glow party is excellent, so that's a top pick for us. And many of the other theme nights like Rock Star night have costume contests on the stage during the later dinner hours - which are fun to see and/or participate in if you want to.

In past years, we sometimes had semi-elaborate costumes. Other times, we made do with a scarf & body glitter. (Who doesn't love body glitter...??) More recently, we've tended to be a bit more laid back... slinky dresses & comfy shorts/shirts. Enjoy!

Totally agree with Chris regarding the glitter...the smallest thing that is ABLE to travel back with you from Hedo...;-)

Go “all out” with theme night costumes! Not everyone does, but you’ll be complimented (and noticed) if you do- especially as first time visitors. That being said, our recommendation is to focus on the lighter weight costume items to make your impression. Shoes weigh a lot (in luggage), so bring some to wear on multiple evenings. Little blinky LED lights, thongs, paint, etc. are usually inexpensive, and won’t weight down your luggage during travel. Enjoy! And, welcome aboard!
