The movie shot in 2018 at Hedo finally released. We watched it last night, had so many laughs, have to share this. It's out streaming from most pay per view.... see link.
https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/the-swing-of-things

$5-$9 or buy CD like Amazon $13-20.

IMBD has good info and Hedonism site has link to trailer. Love to hear from people that see this. Like a LifeTime movie, boy meets girls, mayhem follows, and all ends well, but with Hedonistic raunch in between. Love that Winston, and EC's got parts, even Harry Lange cameo. Won't win any awards, but with all the covid cancellations delaying getting back to Hedo, this is a great way to see Home. I am not good with names, but asking those who see it, how many Hedo staff do you recognize and know in the movie.

I suspect you meant IMDB:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6833470/

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about this movie on either Rotten Tomatoes or MetaCritic.

Here's a link to the trailer without ads. Looks entertaining indeed - nice to see some of the old stomping grounds. smile

Looking at the trailer, I'm puzzled by where the shot was taken that has the Born to Fish boat in it.
Anybody know?

And I didn't recognize any of the ECs in the trailer. Have I been away too long?

Respect.

You will have to watch the movie like we did, haha. A third is a waste of time, but still liked it. It's hour and a half long, much of it on site Hedo. Harry Lange is listed as one of the "many" executive producers". Many "extras" listed in the credits, but I have to say I can't put faces to all the names, and with turnover, some are not there anymore. Winston did good.

We think it's from Booby Cay, looking toward Point Village and the Royalton, with Bloody Bay in the background on the left.

Just watched it....ack, gag, gag. WARNING: Possible story line info you don't want to know ahead ....but then: Dialog/story line were inane (some of it unintelligible) so it won't really matter.

Girls were cute, weather was not pretty, first 120 min. were pointless...no wait, the one scene of the 4 hot Black guys approaching the 4 female lead characters was vaguely amusing. And what's with the matching pink lips and ears on the main guy character, Tom? Why did Laura and her roommate look so much alike...and like the gal Tom was purported to have an affair with...I got so confused and mixed the three up. The gal behind the counter in the spa did the Jamaica subtle attitude thing beautifully--spot on! Making dolphins into sex-crazed beasts was just weird. I mean weird. The movie could've started with them all on the plane--didn't need any of that long lead up. Laura's wedding dress at the end was gorgeous. (Clearly I'm not a movie critic...sorry for all the adjectives--it's late and I wanted to save someone else the $5.99.)

So who else is going to watch it just to see the resort?

Chris

The bottom line is that it was exactly what you should expect from a movie like this. I agree, Chris, that the starting point should have been on the airplane going to Jamaica. Having said that though, it was fun seeing that much of Hedo. As silly as the whole thing was it took us back to the place that, for whatever reason, we want to return to again and again. I think you have to really love that place to endure the movie.

To my fellow Canadians; I see we will have to wait until September 1/20 to get the DVD 'The Swing of Things' for ourselves. I just pre-ordered a copy on Amazon.ca. I will enjoy it no matter what the quality of the story or the acting. Meanwhile, I will watch my 2006 copy of the 1986 movie ' Club Paradise' with Eugene Levy ,Rick Moranis & Andrea Martin & Joanna Cassidy of SCTV fame. Starring Robin Williams, Twiggy, Jimmy Cliff and Peter O'Toole. The movie was shot in Port Antonio, Jamaica but it totally reminds me of Hedo March 2006 on our first trip. Peter O' Toole's best line refers to being " knee deep in diaphrams and seminal fluid" I watched ' Club Paradise' so many times between trips that I wore it out and had to buy a second copy. I will likely only ever watch it once but I actually have a copy of ' Anne Murray in Jamaica' ....Anne sings her way through this Canadian family winter TV special sometime in the early 80's. She stars with Valerie Harper and Ruth Buzzi. At several points in the family special, it is totally obvious that pure as a Snowbird , Anne and her American pals, Valerie and Ruth had a HIGHLY enjoyable side trip to Hedonism !

Lucie73,
I think you might wear out this DVD too! There is a lot of Hedo on it and it's just plain fun.

Also starring.......... as it's self, naked on the beach with all the other sandpipers, the one and only "ONE-LEGGED SANDPIPER". We watch them every morning with the sunrise on the nude side.

We have never heard the voice over the movie uses..... "dick, dick, dick, tits, tits, tits" however. We hope every year that we see it, amazing how well it forages to survive.

We streamed it on Amazon Prime. It was fun, if not a high-concept movie. Be sure to watch carefully during the wedding reception scene near the end of the movie. One of the EC has a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. Just follow the bulge. The most appropriate way to put it would be "just the tip...".

We watched it last night, and had a good laugh. Was nice to see the updated rooms, but most of all our staff member friends. Even a famous guy makes a short appearance. Nice to see a couple of familiar names in the credits!!! Big ups for the Canadian Connection!!!

Bought the DVD, just in case we ever need to go Jonesing for Hedo sights again. Nice just to see the place and the people, even Rasta Ralphie! Thought it would calm the want to be there, only a month left til we go, but it didn't. Watching it just made the DIF worse.

Wonder if I dare to start packing like I did in March.....

I thought this was pretty entertaining! A good ad for Hedo and fun to see some of the regular crew having roles. After reading some of the other reviews here I was expecting it to be really bad; I found it bad, but it still exceeded my expectations. I miss the beach. I'm thankful people are getting on this forum and updating how the resort is doing in getting through all the restrictions that are being imposed. Thanks!

The old girl has survived hurricanes, it will survive Covid.
With any luck this slow down will give Hedo a chance to get on top of maintenance.
BTW, looking at the CNN pictures - did they repaint the bottom of the pool? It looks extra bright and clean.

All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.
