Assuming one can pull away from the sand gravity, what are the options for afternoon getaways:
I expect the One Love bus bar tour is still a thing, how about boat trips? Is the Tuesday / Thursday sunset cruises going out to Ricks anymore? What else comes to mind?
All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

During winter, I like to go to the Boat Bar on Wed and Fri afternoons to listen to live music. Joe Isaacs on drums, Frank Aird on trumpet, Otis Gayle on vocals, etc. and it’s a great time!
There’s Drifter’s for live music with Luddy Sams on vocals (from the 60s group The Drifters). Really cold beer, great environment, and a great time.
No Name bar for music with Crystal Ax on vocals.... great show!

Can you book the One Love pub crawl through the front desk?

You can contact Lenbert (who does the One Love Pub Crawls) directly at 876-874-6631 on his cell or email him at bananaznegril@hotmail.com. I don't think the front desk has it as a 'tour' package...but I've been wrong before.

It's difficult to know ahead of time if you will be motivated to join the One Love Pub Crawl - but they always seem to make a pickup stop at Hedo (4:00 was it?), so just show up in the front lobby and as long as there is room you are good to go. Take many small US bills. You will be paying tourist rates (perhaps $5 a beer), but when you see that some of the bars are little family shops that really need the money, you don't mind paying so much.
All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

You can also grab one of the local taxis waiting in the parking lot and have them take you to one or more of the places I mentioned, and they will come back later to pick you up (or you can grab another local taxi). The drivers usually know all the places and what's going on that might be fun. I've always found the local taxi rates to be pretty reasonable. You can do your own thing that way and still have reasonable transportation...…….

Thanks for the info. PP is right about knowing if you are motivated. We've gone in the past with a group that did its own pub crawl. Each time we ended up at Red Dragon. Two dollar Red Stripes. We will wait and see if we are motivated this time. The crawls we were on in the past were all Hedo folks, so it was a different vibe, but I'm sure it will be fun.

I'll echo both of Lyle's comments here. I may be a standout here but I'm not a fan of the "One Love" crawl - I've done it a few times and I've found he takes you places that are way over-priced - FYI, it's supposed to be a "locals" tour - not to places charging you $US 6 for a Red Stripe. Yes, you get off the beaten path but some of those places will greet you with a hoard of little kids hustling for cash. And, "One Love" isn't allowed to come on Hedo property to pick you up - he always stays outside the gate and you walk out there to him. . . and there's a reason.
A couple options - as Lyle mentioned, just have one of the hotel's drivers take you to a couple places. FYI, Rick's and Margaritaville are tourist traps - high prices for the privilege of going somewhere everyone has been. To Lyle's list of Drifters and Boat Bar I'd add Chances (5 min walk from Margaritaville) - in season they have live jazz on Sunday afternoons (BTW, never believe the times listed on any sign - if you showup an hour after the "start" time you'll still be early!). Woodstock is also a fun place - actually, after you get past Margaritaville, just start walking and stop at anyplace that looks like a bar.
Or . . . . if you don't want to deal with a taxi: just start walking the beach past Sandals: Boardwalk, Rasta Niel's (great fish, lobster and crab!), a couple bars in the "new" spot before doctor Love's - oh, and Doc Love will serve you a beer too. Nice way to kill an afternoon - and it's easy.
Enjoy.

Good to know Dr Love is not that far away. I promised i would stop by sometime after I met him and he showed me the shark he and his buddies had caught when they pulled up to the Hedo pier to show friends December 2018.

I wouldn't do the one love pub crawl unless a bunch (like 10 or more) of my buddies were with me to make sure it's more fun.

I have enjoyed the One Love Bus tour with freinds and with a bus full of college kids on Spring Break. I have perhaps enjoyed myself a little too much... The college kids all sang to me that song " And then I got high......" My husband will be joining me on the Dec WWW pub crawl, I went only with a couple of good friends the past few trips because the of my apparent overexuberance a few trips back.

We have done the pub crawl 16 times. It's always fun and have never paid $6 for a beer.

Also, not making a reservation in advance is rude. Lenbert decides if he needs one bus or 2 by how many reservations he has

I find it difficult to plan ahead, partially because I am usually on my own. Some trips (like going out to eat) just work better with someone (I get tired of laughing at my own jokes - and the staff look at me funny).
Perhaps if Hedo had an off resort dinner club?
All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Lenbert seems to be a highly accommodating individual.... Advance notice is good ofcourse but groups have spontaneously doubled due to word of mouth and Lenbert was cool about sending a second bus. (The year before people got left behind because the second bus was not available....) Its tricky because being Hedo ...people forget their earlier plans and are 'no shows' or people decide spur of the moment to join in on the fun.

One love pub crawl rocks! Cat cruise is still awesome! Make sure you moon sandals, the pelican bar looks cool but I can bare to spend a full day travelling to and from. Other than that, its fun to just go into town.

Much closer is the island bar/pub/eatery located at the Half Moon bay. It is called Calico Jack's Pirate Shack. Better food and there is a bathroom on the island.
