My wife and I are going from January 9-15. We noticed there is a couple travel groups going. Toms and another. We already booked and paid for our reservations through Hedo. Nude hot tub room. Do you recommend us joining one of those groups?

You don't have to join a group to be at Hedo.
But to answer your question more specifically, you'll need to hear from people who go when those groups are there.

You should be aware that there are a lot of life-stylers there that time in January.

The more you look, the more you see.

Most people join groups because they are able to pay cheaper rates (IMO)...2nd reason is the purported built-in social system that it engenders (but I've found that that's not needed or always there...your own personality lets you into social relationships with people, whether they are in a group or not...again IMO).

I'd never recommend booking through Hedo--their rates are almost always higher than you pay through a great travel agent--such as DennyP! And having a TA gives you more strength if you have a problem with the resort/room. Nice to have someone looking out for your interests.

Aafoxys...as Ms Santilli, as always...is correct. A big smile and good conversation will win the day, you'll meet plenty of folks. That said the first week in January is awesome, plenty of folks from all over. We will be arriving on the 5th...see you at "Delroy's" bar. I'll buy the first round. If you have any questions...pm me here and I'll be happy to help.

Darling Roy, if you think I'm correct 'as always' that's only because you didn't notice the many more mistakes I made to get there...grin! And to add to what Roy says: the resort is so full then that the energy is everywhere. You are sure to find a niche in more than one locale of the resort because everyone is all over. Try the prude beach pool for more conversation with smaller crowd and less loud music too.

Thank you for all the good info, we arrive late afternoon on the 9th and have a nude hot tub room. Just hoping some of the horror stories about people not getting the type of room they reserved, happens to us.

If, perchance, you don't get what you paid for (are downgraded) then push like crazy--DAILY-- with firm UTTER politeness. If you let them push you off till you leave, you'll likely never be compensated. Don't accept a 'payment' you cannot/don't want to use. Anything is possible, but they might not offer what you want at first. For example, they might offer something from the spa, boutique, wine shop--or a future trip on days (within a time frame) that doesn't really work for you.

Only talk with Donna Grant the hotel manager (unless she's not available then Kevin the top guy)...she makes things happen in that arena...no one else can/will without her okay. Having a good T.A. in your court gives you more clout.

I fiercely and successfully work with the resort to recover a credit or refund when the resort moves you to a lower room category or to another resort. Chris is correct, it is best to get that process started while at the resort. Be sure to get the name (and remember it) of anyone you speak with. Then email me from there so I can get involved.

I have even successfully gotten involved for non-clients.

But do keep in mind that this doesn't happen very often. I think I've had 2 this year (1 not a client), out of several hundred reservations. Both got money back or a credit on their next trip.

but no one else on staff really has any power without Ms. Grant or Mr. Levee saying anything is okay...

Chris you speak like a Politician.
“Most” people join groups for cheaper rates.
“Purported” built in social system.
“Almost” always higher rates.
Planning to back peddle, LOL

In fact, this year (April 2020) we are paying less than the rate that Sandy quoted, AND we are going through Hedo at that. Maybe because I am Canadian, and I eat beaver?
In fact, we are NOT booked with a group.
I do always ask for multiple quotes, including from Dennyp.com
We still have the social system of the group we are traveling with.

OBTW, me, resting my hand on your inner thigh last April was not allowed, the wife reminded me of that rule back at the room. Thanks for getting me in trouble Chris, LOL

So now let me get my tongue out of my cheek and back onto my wife’s privates., LOL
OBTW, I think Hedo should give out your book to all the virgins. I see so many questions that could be answered if they used your reference material.

we2are469, yup! gotta use the politician couching of terms to cover my butt. I get called on the carpet if I ever say anything as an absolute.

And yes, Canadians get really good rates these last many years.

And hey, it wasn't MY hand on YOUR inner thigh..don't blame the 'victim'...grin!

Let Diane Lange know re: getting my book into the hands of virgins...she's in charge of that type of thing. She doesn't respond to me. Thanks for your support!

I wouldn't say the rates for Canadians are That great.
I skipped the trip last year and saved enough to buy a car.

Next year I hope to be able to put gas in it.

The rates look good in US dollars, but the dollar conversion pretty much makes it an even deal.

Thanks for the clarification on the " Canadian deal " ....I was confused by a guest at Hedo's angry sputtering about the huge injustice and unfairness to Americans LOL

To add to we2are469's humorous post......
We Canadians do not actually eat our national animal, the beaver.
Back in the 70's when women and the glossy lovely beaver's coat had something in common, the back page of a canadian version of Hustler had the Great Canadian Beaver Hunt. Bald beaver is now popular.

Want more confusion? Being in the US and using a US based credit card processor, we have to charge the Canadian rates in US dollars - which is how I quote it. I have a note in my quotes that all amounts are in USD. Then the client's bank applies the conversion before charging it to their account. So I cannot tell a client exactly what it will be in CDN because the conversion factor is constantly changing. We also have rates for Europe in some cases.

we have been at Hedo since last Friday and going home Saturday. There is no Ganga dispensary. Many new entertainers , don't know what happened to the ones that are missing. More then a few new faces in the waiter and waitress and waiters side. Pastafari's wasn't t serving desert. the waiter informs you of this upon your arrival, after dinner you can get your desert at the buffet and that's where you can enjoy it.

That's interesting to hear that Pastafari is not serving dessert. I wonder if that's a way to get more people in for dinner, more quickly. We enjoy dessert and coffee after dinner, but will certainly live. One can always grab a plate of dessert and sit out by the pool, if you didn't want to sit in the main dining hall.

I think you are right, Loni & Jim...makes sense anyway (and likely saves Hedo money)...and will save me beaucoup calories from not having to force myself to eat the decadent chocolate mousse every night. (Not to say that I still won't be piling on the rum balls on Friday nights.) I'm glad to know this dessert in advance. Thanks!

WHAT, wait, you mean there is an animal up here called a beaver. I always thought it was an area between my wife's legs. Damn, next thing you know they'll be putting an image of it on a coin. The animal, not my wife, LOL.

Reminds me of what was said about the Canadian 2 dollar coin when it came out: On it was a picture of the Queen with a bear behind.

We love going with groups, you have a "built in" group of friends. In addition, they usually have activities, extras, and discounted rates.
