Just curious, I've read some surprised responses as to some of the recent room rates (much of it appears to be a currency issue with non-U.S. travellers) and I'm just wondering if they might be pricing themselves a bit out of filling the place. Has anyone noticed a 'vacancy' sign out front? What has the occupancy been like?

Seems to be fairly full this week, but I will say between the rates going up and the new full payment 120 days out policy, our travel dollars are going to start to spread out to other horizons. We have been spending 3 weeks a year here, just one this year.

We were there last week. We expected it to be full, but not so. Good size crowed, but no where near full. No problem finding chairs on the beach and no lines for lobster or nude grill.

I think the crazy strength of the $US is pricing the place out of many other non-US people's budgets. But if anyone understands the micro economics of pricing and profit maximization I'd figure it to be Harry San. Maybe it's time to lower prices, fill the place to maximize revenue to cover the fixed costs....

There seems to be a lot more sold out nights in 2017 than there were this time last year from my observation.

My guess, you won't see rates drop at Hedo until other resorts in the region do so first. And I don't see that happening without some sort of travel chaos kicking in (like sudden visa requirements, etc.)

All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Last week (pre Miss No Swimsuit Contest week)was the first slow week since New Years. Things are pretty full now and Hedo Amigos are coming in this weekend - they tend to fill the house.

It always makes me shake my head when I see people say how expensive Hedo is becoming and I'm beginning to accept the fact that I'll NEVER understand. I can only speak from a USA perspective. Living in eastern Pennsylvania the New Jersey "Shore" is the go-to summer destination for millions of people, even from as far away as Canada. My 'normal' week at Hedo is the week beginning the Saturday after Labor Day and I will tell you that you can spend that week at Hedo, including airfare, for less that the same week at the Jersey shore unless you, or someone you know, own the property you're staying at. Remember, at Hedo, you basically pay for nothing, it's all inclusive! Anywhere else, non- AI obviously, in addition to your lodging, you're paying for meals, drinks, entertainment, sporting activities, etc. In the early 90's after my first stay at Hedo I thought that I was possibly wasting my money since I'm not a big eater or drinker. I few months later I stayed at the Holiday Inn in MoBay and paid the same nightly rate that I did at Hedo WITHOUT meals, drinks, etc. That made my mind up rather easily. Obviously there are seasonal adjustments to the rates at Hedo so when occupancy is typically low, so are the rates. If you go to Hedo when they are normally sold out, of course you are going to pay more as you are if you must have the new premium rooms. When I posted rack rates with discounts in response to one person's complaint that there were NO discounts, he told me the chart was fictitious. I guess I'll just go on shaking my head wondering what they are talking about.

I deleted your price list. As noted in the rules of the board, we don't post rates. The main reason is that those don't match the lower rates that I have for some dates.
