We are flying out of Philly in 16 days and I was wondering if anyone has taken an electronic cigarette along on an airplane? Not to smoke while on plane but just to have for when we get to the airport.

Thank you for any information on this.

Lori

I'll let you know in 17 days. I've never had someone stop me yet from using them in restaurants or bars, but airport might be different.

The DOT is moving to ban using e-cigs on airplanes,

Many airplane companies have banned the use already.

Doing a Google on the topic will yield similar stories.

Angie & Steve,

Hopefully we run into you there. That is if you are going to Hedo. It is funny because we have some friends here at home that their names are Angie and Steve. We'll have to compare notes on the E-cig then.

Thank you Chuck,

I guess for what I paid for it I better not carry it onto the plane.

Banning a devise that produces moisture/vapor because it 'looks' like a cigarette? I don't get it.

From Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood:

"We still don't know the health effects of e-cigarettes, and we don't want to turn airline passengers into laboratory mice."

Jason Healy, president of e-cigarette maker Blu Cigs:

"I understand from an airline's point of view the hassles it could create. It's not the actual product, it's the disruption and explaining to everyone else that it's not smoke."

Hi, May you people making fun about this topic but I just want to show some disadvantages of the e cigarette. "Electronic Cigarettes are found to contain an anti-freeze component known as Diethylene Glycol. It is toxic to humans and can cause health worries on inhalation. This is one of the major Electronic Cigarette side effects". so I don't any thing is more beautiful than the life.

While Lori did make it clear that she wasn't intending on using the E-cig on the airplane I can understand the urge to ban them from use in airplanes as it is analogous to a heroin addict crammed in the seat next to you rolling up his sleeve, wrapping a rubber band around his arm, tapping on his veins, then injecting himself with 2 ccs of saline solution.
