Looks like I'll be returning Home in June. My flight arrives two hours before a friends flight - I'd like us to take the bus together, so what's the best way to kill time?
I seem to remember a MargaritaVille at the end of the hall. Is it any good? Is there something better?
I know not to leave the secure zone, which I assume ends at the doorway to the buses.

All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Can't get there from here........... On arrival, once you've cleared Customs, you leave the secured zone of the airport. The only way to get to Margaritaville, is to enter the Departures area, and clear Departure Immigration and Security to enter the secured zone where most of the shops and Margaritaville are. Others may disagree, but I'd suggest hanging out at the little bar just outside the doors of the airport just outside of Customs. You should be able to leave a message with the folks at the SuperClubs desk to tell your friends where to find you once they arrive, plus you'll have a couple hours at a little outdoor bar to do some post-arrival adjustment and people-watching. Just my input, for whatever it's worth.

You might want the SuperClubs lounge agent to check on the status of your friend's flight It could be delayed and you'd be waiting even longer.

The arrival area is really not set up for long waits. There is a refreshment stand outside in the area where the busses stage. The rest of the restaurants are in the departure area. You'd have to walk all the way through the parking lot to get to the departure area. You won't be able to get through the departure security so you'd be left to the facilities in the ticketing area only. I think there is a Burger King and a small bar there. However, the arrival area is secure and security may give you a hard time getting back in once you leave. It can be done, though. You might want to let the SuperClubs agent know about your plans then when you are questioned when trying to get back in, you can have security contact the SuperClubs desk in the arrival lounge.

We have spent a couple hours waiting outside the doors at the little bar like Denny suggested- it is off to the right of the little snack bar. Not too expensive and the little snacks we have gotten out there have been good. The people watching in the lounge is good too- playing who is going where, introducing ourselves and making the nice people behind the desk shake their heads a little smile

Gosh if it was me I would wait for your friends at the swim up bar at the resort.........The booze is already paid for and the atmosphere much better...... Also it would be my kind of luck that if I waited their plane would all of a sudden be delayed and I would have wished I just had gone on and saved them a seat at the swim up....... Just sayin....... Hope you all have a great trip.....

You are a good and loyal friend, PP, and are to be commended. But I recommend you blow off your pal and tell them to meet you at Delroy's. I'm sure they'll understand!

I you have 2 hours I would head over to the Hip Strip in Mobay for something to eat and a couple of drinks. Tell Super Clubs what you are doing and let them arrange the cab. As Denny said, when you come back you will be on the wrong side of security, but that is no biggie as your SC bus can pick you up on either side. The little bar that is at the airport is way expensive...for what it is. The Hip Strip is a 3 minute cab ride with lots of places to eat/drink/shop. If you are looking for touristy, Margaritaville, Jamaican Bobsled Team or the Tilted Kilt are all decent places for grub and drinks. If you want some really good Jerk go to the Port Pit...yummy! Have fun!

Each to their own, but the last thing I would do is wait at the airport for two hours for friends i am going to see for my vacation. Pay for drinks, pay for a cab and sit around for a couple of hours isn't a plus for me.

I'd have to agree. Friends don't make friends wait when en route to Hedo.....

i understand the impetus to make sure that you are there for your friends, but I agree with the previous posters sentiment. get on your bus, go to hedo, and then hang out with your new friends all week!

they will be less stressed knowing they arent holding you up, and you will be less stressed while downing a hummingbird at the bar at HEDO!

i cant believe i have to wait another 137 days....if i had to wait another 137 days and TWO hours....id go NUTS!

Ah, but this is her first trip to Hedo and I want to keep an eye on her so one of you sly dogs don't wisk her away. wink
It's also been two years since I saw her last. Need to get those good vibes going... cool

Perhaps I should ask: Has the location of the SuperClubs lounge changed in the last year?
I preferred the old one. The upstairs part was handy for a quick change of clothes or a nap.

We've never stayed in the SuperClubs lounge very long but I do believe there is a small MargaritaVille at the end as you described. I believe it is at the end where the old washroom area was. Have never stopped there but looks interesting. Might be a place to grab a drink or two.

SuperClub lounge is dead center when you leave the customs area.

I waited 37 years to find the right woman so waiting 2 hours on a good friend/friends isnt all that long. I understand meeting up with good friends and wanting to spend the most time with them even getting a room close when checking in so waiting 2 hours can give u an even better vacation especially with friends u may only see that 1 time of the year at Hedo

The opinions in this response probably will not be the opinion of the management,so when weird responses occur please send us back to Hedo ASAP and Yes im still married to my best friend

OMG!! That's time you could be spending at the resort. Take the bus as soon as you get to Superclubs, get to the resort, check in and by the time your friends arrive, you'll have drinks waiting for them.

Well anyway, it looks like the problem has taken care of itself. Due to a sudden change of plans (someones wedding) the trip's been pushed back to mid July. And now I only need to wait a half hour.

Also on the plus side, I get to miss my date with destiny and NOT die is some sort of June air disaster (never ask a gypsy about when/how you'll die - it hangs over your head forever. eek ).

All in all, I'd rather be a hippy.

Congratulations Parracky Parrot for allowing the normal flow of operations to catch up to you and your friend. She will (eventually) appeciate that you were not pushing her into areas that were not (at that time) comfortable for her.

Hedo is like a crescendo in music. Let it build naturally, so that at the end of the week, she is fully acclimated. Keep checking with her during the week as to how she is doing. but don't press it. She will either be fully ready to participate or she will let you know that this is not her thing by the end of the week.

Be patient.

Respect.

I don't want to know when or how I'll die. I just want to know where. Then I won't go there!......Jake (just hoping the gypsy doesn't say "Hedo")

The name of the little bar outside where the buses park is called the Groovy Grouper.Instead of turning left and going to the Super clubs desk and other travel desks, turn right.Grab a porter on your way out of customs, he will get your bags and take you there.
