Grand Lido Negril Trip Report - John (Kerry) Alma

Grand Lido Negril NAKED ONLY Oceanview Swim up ( Dec 16-26, 2021)

We were very happy once again with our GLN swim up suite,  especially since it was the ideal spot, an  end unit next door to a nice side view of Point Place. I liked to look at people in swim suits swimming near the lovely Point Place, sea filled rock formation while I was naked. I like a lot of Hedo people, have exhibitionistic and voyeur  tendencies. We were fine with the nudism only and NO out of room sexual acts allowed. Also, while much more shy and quiet than Hedo people, it was nice to be smiled at by gorgous naked people in the sunbed directly in front of us. Most people made polite small talk only. Ofcourse we missed very much, the sexy and wholehearted and often tender hearted discussions daily while at Hedo the previous 2 weeks. As an added bonus in front of our private deck and plunge pool leading to a rectangular infinity pool across the 6 swim up room, we had the swim upNude Bar and Grill directly in front of us . Our butler would serve us lunch from the grill 10  seconds away and bring us drinks while we sun bathed or hung out in the gorgeous spacious room. Our previous visit to GLN was  September 2019 to celebrate 40 years of living together. Great place for honeymooners or people that want to socialize with only one other couple. There are only SIX swim up suites out of the total 26 ALL Oceanview GLN suites. It suited our desire to ' social distance ' 10 days before facing the Toronto Pearson airport.

No there is no actual beach but the Ocean views for all 26 suites is spectacular !!!
The most distant loungers (closer loungers are on a boardwalk near the hot tub and 2nd infinity pool ) are on a sandy area and the Caribbean Sea is directly below a rustic rock wall. Climb down a 5 foot ladder in front of the nude grill and you are in he water to swim and snorkel. Travis the Lifeguard has offered to teach me to overcome my fear of deep water anytime. The GLN Entertainment Coordinator is very enthusiastic and organizes afternoon trivia games, bingo? afternoons at the nude bar & grill. There is 5 feet of Sandy beach leading to a shallow 20? Foot area when one first climbs down the ladder in front of the nude Grill. For people who are more comfortable in the sea than me,there are beautiful nearby caves to explore while snorkelling.

GLN is a luxurious treat, comparable price wise  ( perhaps cheaper on sale) than Hedo Hot Tub rooms. Each room also has a free standing jet tub .  Each suite comes with butler service ( We had Condley or Ricardo, both excellent) . The Ocean Point restaurant is very close and offers gourmet breakfast and supper in a relaxed, luxurious atmosphere outdoors, overlooking the water. The Dorado ( beside the stairs to the Hideaway resort lobby) equally exquisite menu and service is open when Ocean Point is closed. If Ocean Point is closed last minute due to rain, the Grand Marche  Buffet substitutes just fine. The quality of food is good and includes crepe and omlette station in the morning and fresh fish grill station and sundae station at lunch and supper. GLN guests have full access to the Hideaway (adults only) and Royalton ( families with kids) amenities. We didn't attend the Royalton stage shows  but did make good use of the indoor and outdoor separate adults only dining area Hideaway section, beside the shared buffet.

GLN is very peaceful and quiet , a great place to recover from 2 weeks of HEDO debauchery !!! It was MUCH more lonely  this trip because we didn't go on an night passes to Hedo like last time. Ofcourse our most fun discussions were with friendly people we met who were taking a 2 nd trip to Hedo after 25 years....
