Verne - February, 2008
This was our first trip to Desire Resort in Cancun. My wife and I have been to both Hedo 2 and 3 in Jamaica. We are not really into swingers, but enjoy the nudity and flirting and some soft swinging.
When we arrived at the Cancun Airport, we were greeted by a Young man who claimed to work for Mexican tourism. He told us our transportation to the resort would not be ready for another 20 minutes and wanted to welcome us to Mexico and answer any questions we might have. Well sure as shit, as he talks to you, you find out he is hustling you to book tours with him. So unless you want the tours, don't get sucked into this. Just walk by and you will find your transportation.desk just past these guys.
Compared to the Hedo's for us, Desire was hands down Superior, in both accommodations and food. Our room was a garden view room and actually faced the back of the resort. Our room was just OK. We had a chance to see the other suites and definitely suggest you get ocean view room or a garden view that does not face the crocodile pond. The Pond has a funky smell to it, that made it into our room on occasion.
The service by the staff is top notch. They really go out of their way to make you feel special. Like most, we got roped into their time share marketing program sell over breakfast the next day. Its not high pressure and a simple no thank you is all it took to end the session. I would suggest that when you check in and don't wish to be bothered with it, Say no thanks to their breakfast invite the next morning.
The couples we met at the resort were all fun, friendly people. The disco got to hot at night and we suggested that the resort have music all night long outside in the courtyard. They do have music in the courtyard at night from 8PM until 10PM then the Disco. We and others would have loved to have had the live music all night long or both.
Like Hedo the resorts feel compelled to hold contests during the day and at the disco all seem like a waste of time. Everyone who is there seems to have fun without silly contests. The events staff were excellent though at the pool and other events such as volleyball in the pool.
Snorkel ling was excellent and the beach was great for long walks.
We will defiantly be back at Desire. .Good job Denny for putting that together for us.
