Mark & Amy - August, 2007

All that follows is in comparison to our last visit to Desire in 2004.

The good:

-Food continued to be good. (They do need to learn not to overcook red meats)

-Staff continues to be FABULOUS!!!!!! Can't say enough about them.

-Our fellow guests were a fun bunch to be with.

-The temperature in the disco was actually comfortable.

-The spa continues to rock. They really are an undersold part of the resort.

-Transbeach service was excellent.

-Management was working incredibly hard to get things up and running.

The not so good:

-After Dean the resort said that there was "no damage." Even put it on the website. They lied. The ocean front rooms were blasted by the storm are undergoing restoration. As a result, we got moved to a garden view accommodation. Also, the beach bed and some of the other beach apparatus were wiped out. The resort was working hard to repair all the damage but it was not as advertised.

-The beach has suffered from the storms. Its about a yard narrower than it used to be. Worse, the near offshore zone of 5 yards or so is strewn this rocks and chucks of concrete. Definitely bring your water shoes!

-One of the restaurants was closed limiting dining options.

In all, still a good value. We just wish they had been a little more upfront about things.
