We arrived for our 2nd trip to Desire on July 31st thru August 6th.
As usual we were greeted with cool towels and champagne....very
refreshing! This trip we treated ourselves to a stay in one of the
Passion Suites. All in all it was very nice but we noticed several
things promised with a PS stay, that never happened.
The room was very nice, it was one of the 8 new ones built after the
hurricane last year. I wish we could have stayed in an older Passion
Suite, as they are much larger. The main thing about this trip is the
super beds and pillows, I'm just not sure if any of the other rooms got an
upgrade from the terrible mattress' and pillows that we experienced 3 years
ago. We were just steps from the ocean, so we had no problem getting a
beach bed or umbrella everyday. A lot of folks complain that most guests
reserve their beds then disappear for most of the day. We did not see
folks doing that.....those who got a bed, stayed there all day.
The food was of higher quality this trip as was the coffee, which is VERY
important to me. Last trip the coffee was terrible and never hot.
This time.....perfect! We enjoyed all the restaurants and had room
service a couple of times, which was great too.
I think the thing we dislike the most about Desire is the lack of
different liquors, no Corona, and their juices are terrible and I couldn't
tell what the heck kind of juice I was drinking, so I stopped and went to
tonic or a Miami Vice.
We went to the gym a few mornings but it's way too hot to work out in, so
we stuck to our long morning beach walks that were wonderful!! Also the
water aerobics in the pool everyday with Angel was awesome!
And for those interested, we did not see too many "naughty things"
happening. One day a couple was having sex in the main pool, which
grossed me out, swimming it and all, wondering what bodily fluids I was
swimming in, so I got out. We didn't partake in the late night hot tub
time this trip. This vacation was a reconnection for us so we enjoyed a
lot of "together time" and early to bed nights.....wink, wink!
Desire is great, better after the hurricane and we had a fabulous
week!
