We made it to Desires and had a wonderful time until Tuesday night when it
became obvious that Wilma was going to hit the Yucatan. Desires management was
very helpful and straightforward, they told us Wednesday that we should make
every effort to arrange a flight out of Cancun as soon as possible and they
would offer anyone that had remaining time, future credit for another trip
equal to the time that they lost. They were concerned about the guest's safety
and the manager ( Oscar Lope Gonzalez) was very sincere and honest with the
guests about the coming danger. No one likes to have their vacation ruined by
a disaster like this but it should be said that the entire staff was excellent
under adverse conditions and earned our loyalty and support for future
vacations. The resort is very personal and this has been our third trip, great
people, great staff and a great time. We were able to make it after six
airline reservations were canceled, we got lucky and left at 10:30 Thursday
morning just before the airport closed. Feel free to pass this along to any of
