We just returned from Desire Resort on Oct. 25th. We have vacationed at several resorts in many locations throughout Mexico & The Carribean. The resort in Puerto Morales Mexico is very beautiful. It was a very quick trip from the airport to the resort. 15 or 20 minutes. Check-in was very quick and painless. We were escorted to our room #2104 gardenview where we quickly settled in. First thought - no drawers for our clothes, only 2 shelves in the closet plus hangers. Room was clean and well kept. There was a refridgerator with water and a tv with several channels including porn . We saw several rooms and not many are the same although there are only 3 categories. Off to the beach. The beach was very long and clean with all of the chairs and palapas you could want. Second thought - everyone was naked. 99%. We found this to be true throughout the whole resort. You could walk through the whole resort naked except the lobby and restauraunts. The new gym and spa had just opened and seemed very up to date and well equipped. The pool area was very large and looked brand new. 99% naked. The main gathering spot seemed to be the rooftop jaccuzzi. Awesome!!! The view was breathtaking and it seemed as it would hold about 50 or so people. We observed no PDAs or PDSs. We heard they were done at the jaccuzzi after midnight when we were asleep. It was a real laid back relaxing week. The food was very comparable to all other resorts with the best being at the pool grill in our opinion. They were never crowded and there was always plenty of seating. They had a great mixture of snacks and sandwiches. The disco was one of the best we have seen at a resort. There is a playroom at the back of the disco. The theme nights did not seem well attended and did not get going until about 11:00 instead of 10:00. It could have been fun with more participation. Wrong music for the crowd that week which seemed to average above 40 years old. Maybe we went to bed to early (oh well). The staff did a great job of attending to our every want and need. Waiters on the beach and pool area were always available. The ECs did a great job and 2 new female ecs were added while we were there. They were very good and will probably be a great addition. My biggest complaint was the dead time between about 7:00 and 10:00 . There were lots of people milling about after dinner and not a whole lot going on or no place to gather. The main bar would seat only about 10 and there was a small venue nearby that sat about 20. Overall this was an awesome resort which has the possibility to become one of the best. The resort is spotless and as clean as any we have seen. As on any trip the thing that made it great was the other guests , many of whom we met on the boards prior to arriving.
