HedoPlanet - September, 2003

The HedoPlanet.com group toured Desire resort during our stay at CRC in September. A good synopsis would be that we were very impressed and will be back. Upon arrival we immediately noticed that the main color scheme of the resort is white. We were greeted with ice cold face cloths and cold champagne. A staff member was assigned to us to show us around. He was very polite and informative. We were shown every style of room and the entire resort.

Rooms

No room was bad in summary. Each room had a nice king size bed with silk white curtains falling down from roman style pillars on each corner of the bed. Each room had a cracked glass mirror at the headboard.

The basic rooms had walk in showers. The jacuzzi and Passion suites had large jacuzzis inside the rooms that are made for four people. However you could easily fit 8 people in one. They also had large walk in showers. The rooms are all tile and each room had a t.v. with numerous satellite stations including the Playboy channel. The suites also have a large balcony that is shared with another suite. Some of the rooms had wall partitions that opened up to the outside. This made it nice when you have a ocean view. Great detail in comfort and pleasure went into these rooms.

Pools

The resort has two pools. One that is topless optional. This pool is a decent size and has a large bar that is right next to it. There are several nice bed swings that are also right next to this pool. We noticed that no one was using this pool as everyone was at the clothing optional pool. The topless pool is also very close to the Disco.

The clothing optional pool is very large and is right near the beach. It also has a large bar with numerous lounge chairs all around it. It is set up for water polo and volleyball. The resort also has a staff that keeps the fun going in the pool area during the day. The three restaurants are also right next to the pool. More on this later.

Beach

The beach had nice white sand that is kept clean by the staff. The water was a little choppy and discolored on this day by a storm offshore. However I was told that it is normally very clear and greenish blue in color. The beach area was also very long and most of the rooms had a view of the beach area. The beach is not very wide at Desire like at Hedo II.

Hottub

The hottub is where you test your sobriety. You have to climb a flight or so of stairs to get to a roof top where the hottub is located. Once word used to describe it is awesome. The hottub can easily hold 30 plus people. Plus it has a nice swim up bar. There are also seven lounge beds nearby. Three of the beds have white sheer curtains that you can close for privacy. There were even numerous lounge chairs and some tables in case you wanted to order food or sit for drinks. Did someone mention towels. I saw a large stack of clean rolled towels. In fact it seemed that towels were in abundance everywhere that I went.

Disco

The disco is very large and the color scheme is red and black. It can easily hold 100 plus people. There are two dance poles and numerous table and chairs to catch your breath in between dances. The bar is very big and again great detail went into the disco. Why you ask.

Well for those inclined. There is a playroom at the back of the disco. There is even a warning sign to go no further if you don't want to play. You have to go through another door to get into this room. The room was again in red and black. With large leather sectional couches that line the length of three of the four walls. Again I saw a large stack of hand rolled towels.

Dining

There is a snack bar at the clothing optional pool. There is also a restaurant that is served buffet style and it is also located near the clothing optional pool. This area is not air conditioned but had numerous large ceiling fans throughout the dining area. The restaurant was very nice

There is also a restaurant that is reservations only. It is next door to the buffet area. You have to go through glass doors to gain entrance. You are immediately pleased to find that this place has a/c. This restaurant is decorated in white with white leather chairs and tables everywhere. A glass chandelier is hanging in the reception area. I was told that is the waiting area. There is a bar here to order drinks while you wait. Around a corner is the dining area. I honestly felt that I had walked into a five star restaurant and not part of a all inclusive resort. The menu is Italian and seafood. I walked throughout the restaurant and was very impressed. The ambiance was awesome.

I noticed that all the a/c's were brand new. So was the hot water heater for the jacuzzi. The staff member said that all equipment had been replaced when the owners of Desire bought the resort.

Whether are not you are into the lifestyle. This resort has something for everyone. You can relax, party or be pampered. Oh yeah did I mention the spa services. They were rebuilding the spa building while we were there. However the ladies observed a few massages being given and wanted to partake also. They looked first notch.

Its only my opinion. But I believe that this resort rivals Hedo II and III. Its just needs the people to make the party happen for the atmosphere that fellow Hedonists desire. Two thumbs up to this resort in the opinion of HedoPlanet.
