Desire: Leo & Charisse - July, 2003

We arrived at the new Desire Resort and Spa July 3rd, 2003 for an 8 night stay.  We were greeted warmly with cool towels and champagne.  I must say this is a very pretty resort.  The grounds are kept gorgeous and perfect.  We had a oceanfront room, first building from the pool.  Very handy to everything.  The activity directors are awesome  (Ceasar, Omar & Mario).  Never pushy, very friendly and funny.  The games that are played around the pool were a huge relief from the nasty games played at Hedo 3.  We are not prudes by any stretch, but this place has Hedo 3 beat by a long shot.
When we went down to the pool bar for our first drink after we arrived, I was approached to enter the "Miss Desire America" pagent the next day, July 4th.  What a hoot, why not I thought!  Well it ended up lasting over an hour and was great fun!  It was me and 9 other women.  We were asked a series of questions, then we had to each dance on a table by the pool.......I laugh everytime I remember how fun it was.  My husband stood on the other side of the pool, not missing a thing!  LOL.  To make a long story short.......I won!!  They gave me such great gifts, including a trip back to Desire, a facial, massage, jewelry, t-shirt, hat AND 2 tickets to  the Lifestyle Convention in Las Vegas next month!  So I ended up being their first Miss Desire America! LOL!
A little more on the resort.  I loved that the whole resort is done in white.  Beautiful white drapes and sheers everywhere.  They are canopied on the beds at the roof-top jacuzzi, white drapes are around the hanging beds around the front lobby and the restaurant is totally white!  The food in the restaurant is very delicious, very high end.  The wait staff everywhere in the resort work their butts off to serve.   I will admit I did not like the breakfast at all.  I ended up eating just watermelon every morning.  And I never did get a hot cup of coffee not once....luke warm everyday.  But lunch and supper was never a disappointment.  Much, much better food and service than Hedo 3.
Our room was very comfortable except, there is not much storage space to keep your clothes or cosmetics.  The rooms need more counter space and a table.  Great maid service everyday....fresh bottled water in the mini-fridge replaced everyday, with a fantastic balcony right on the ocean.
We really enjoyed this resort and will go back I'm sure many times.  It was a nice change from all the in-your-face-sex that we experienced at Hedo.  They do have a wonderfully decorated play-room right off of the disco, very upscale.  And the disco........very nice!  Actual chairs, tables, loveseats, and couches.......very tastefully done.  The spa was beauitful, one of the best massages we have ever had.  In fact the day we got our massages, we got pretty red , especially my husband and they gave us a sun-burn treatment and it was so weird, our red sore skin was like it never got sun-burned!  Very beautiful all white spa!
If you go soon, tell the guys around the pool, Charisse, Miss Desire says HI!!!!
Hope this helps anyone thinking about going!!  Do it.....you'll have a ball!
