First Desire Resort is not a singles resort. It is a Life Styles resort. This doesn't mean for swingers only. There were many couples just getting to know each other again. Let me start at the beginning. The resort is a quarter of the size of Hedo but well laid out. Reception was fast & they gave you a Champagne cocktail & a cool towel when you arrived. I had asked for a kingsized bed by e-mail & they had one ready, but it was on the second floor. With my knees the way they are I'd have lasted 2 days. They were happy to switch rooms & we got one of the rooms that they picture in the ads. White sheer drapes & columns. The air conditioner worked great as well as the water. Our room was next to the pool & the dinning room which made it easier on my knees walking. The beach was 35 ft. from our room. White sand & crystal clear water. The main dinning room was domed and very well decorated. Now here's the best part. The food was fantastic. The head chef was always around instructing the staff on the display of the food. All staff wore gloves & face masks to insure sanitary conditions. Helena ate everything & had no complaints. The staff was more than courteous & friendly, they were even funny. I thought they only served beer, wine & soda. When we arrived we saw a tent card on the bar with all kinds of mixed drinks. I asked the bartender how much they were & he said no extra charge. Helena tried eveyone during the stay. Her favorite drink was the Orgasmo, made with coconut juice. The cuzzi was on the third floor which gave a great view but was hard on my legs. Everything was always clean. The main entertainment was , believe it or not, the Disc. The music was mixed so we all could dance, even together. There was a Lifestyles group there so they presented a great show all night. Open sex was kept to the cuzzi, Disco or rooms. Mexico frowns on open sex in common areas. Not unlike Hedo. We met several old Hedo friends from the Aug. group as well as friends from past Hedo visits. They all loved Desire and said they would be back within months because of the price. We found out when we got there that if you pay for 4 nites you get 1 free so if you pay for 8 nites you get 10 nights total. Not bad at $95/nt. The Desire manager has visited Hedo & can't understand how they get the prices for the quality of the food & accomodations. I told him it was the peoples, so he said well bring the people here for half the price. We do want to go back to Hedo again, but we will be going to Desire for the price & closeness to Arizona. For the dollar value Desire has Hedo beat hands down. Hopefully one of you folks who went to Hedo this season will e-mail us a report so we can see what we missed this year. Love to all we missed you, Bob & Helena
