DESIRE PEARL RESORT and SPA
A FIRST PEEK
As you arrive, your first impression of Desire Pearl Resort and
Spa is an instant feeling of comfort and relaxation. The beautiful
open-air lobby looks serenely out at lush tropical gardens and a vista
of sparkling pool waters. The warmth of the staff only enhances your
feeling of well-being as they speed you through the check-in process.
During your coming week, you'll explore the resort, finding all
its secrets and delights. One of your first discoveries is the Lobby Bar
with its beautiful stained glass highlights. The Disco, with its high
domed ceilings, and the Playroom, with its . . . well, excitement . . .
are steps away.
The Pearl Dining Room is off the main lobby and has both indoor
and patio dining. For the lover of fine food, the chef will feature
Caribbean and Mexican cuisine. The Pearl Dining Room has its own Wine
Cellar. Go ahead . .
.
walk-in . . . choose your own wine! The tasteful international selection
of fine wines within the Pearl Dining Room Wine Cellar carry a separate
price; but wine connoisseurs will be excited with that option. Desire
Pearl's future plans include Wine-Pairing Meals in the Wine Cellar for
an additional charge.
The other restaurant called Aphrodite is adjacent to the pool.
Dining in the Aphrodite Restaurant, which specializes in Mediterranean
cuisine, allows the guest to either dine inside within a well-appointed
bistro or to dine al fresco on the patio. The chef promises an
exceptional meal freshly prepared from the finest ingredients.
Above the Aphrodite Restaurant is the Martini and Wine Bar.
Adjoining the bar is a very large patio area. From here, you can see for
two miles down the beach towards Puerto Morales. There are no hotels on
either side to the resort, allowing for a more private beach and
expansive vistas while you enjoy the cocktail hour or an exceptional
glass of after-dinner wine.
The spa entrance off the lobby opens up a world of pampering
beyond compare. Using these facilities is a must do during your stay.
Large separate locker rooms for both men and women each include showers,
a sauna, a steam room, a Jacuzzi, and a plunge pool; also available are
Swiss showers, couple's massage rooms with their own private baths, and
Bride's and Groom¹s massage rooms with Jacuzzi and dressing areas.
The Desire Pearl Salon has the most modern and advanced manicure
and pedicure chairs. The Desire Pearl Gym has technologically
sophisticated machines for walking, jogging, and stair climbing, along
with a full set of free weights and a yoga and dance exercise room with
views of the gardens.
The stunning beach area has a few palapas, with plans for more,
and plenty of lounge chairs. There is an extended dock out over the
water with a beautiful gazebo for private dinners, cocktail parties, or
weddings. It's also the perfect place to steal a kiss!
The dive shop is PADI-certified and includes scuba repair and
refilling capabilities. A trained staff awaits your arrival to explore
the waters of the warm Caribbean.
The swimming pool area is absolutely gorgeous! There are two
Jacuzzis and two Swim-Up Bars for your enjoyment. The huge Pool Swim-Up
Bar can be accessed from both the sparkling waters of the expansive pool
or from the beach. The adjoining Pool Jacuzzi allows you to swim right
up and easily enter from the pool. The Grand Jacuzzi - and we do mean
GRAND - is oversized and separated from the main pool. The Grand Jacuzzi
is about sixty feet in diameter and it has its own Grand Jacuzzi Swim-Up
Bar.
There are only eighty-eight rooms at Desire Pearl Resort and Spa;
but the best part is all of the rooms have ocean views.
The Oceanview Room category may be the lowest in price, but it is
full of exciting features. Each Oceanview Room has two double beds with
a built-in table between them. We were told, however, that the double
beds will be slowly phased out to king beds, though no timeline was
given. The generous room includes: a large flat screen TV, a full
bathroom with walk-in shower, a big closet area and dresser-drawers for
clothes. . . OK, laugh if you must, but there are no drawers at the
original Desire Resort and Spa. You never know how much you use
something until you do not have it.
You will also enjoy the patio with chairs and a hammock.
The Master Suite category has two full bathrooms, and a big bar
area; but it is the bedroom with its garden tub that sparks the
imagination. Close the shutter doors for privacy or excite your partner
by leaving them open to the large bedroom. After your soak in the tub,
you are going to want to lounge on the large patio in your own Jacuzzi;
or stay dry and read a book in one of the chairs, or better yet the
hammock. When you've worn yourself out at the Disco return home to a
restful night's sleep in your lush king size bed.
This suite will spoil you with features like a
special cabinet for luggage storage, two big flat screen TVs, a desk
area, and a very comfortable couch (see above.)
Want to know a secret? We caught a peek at Suite Number Seventy
Seven . . . you can crawl onto the beach from there. This will be the
suite everyone says they have to have!
What can top that? The Penthouse Suites - there are seven - are
all on the fourth floor. There are no elevators, so be in shape if you
book one of these suites, but for the fit and sensuous, only the smiles
of exquisite pleasure will fill their days. The main bathroom is
oversized and so is the half bath. No waiting turns in this suite! The
dressing area in the main bath is large with plenty of space to hang
clothes and with drawers for other storage. Ladies will really enjoy the
extra counter space in both bathrooms. Other features include: a big
dining room table, couch, desk, bar area and a big flat screen TV in the
living room. The bedroom
contains a king size bed and another flat screen TV.
Here's the fun part: You can exit from the suite onto an
expansive roof top patio that contains a six or eight person Jacuzzi,
which always begs the question: How many people can you put in a
Volkswagen? Surrounding the Jacuzzi are a day bed, lounge chairs, table
with four chairs, and a beautiful view of the beach and the resort. If
you want one of these suites, you need to book early!
This is only a peek.
Desire Pearl promises to be one of the best fun-time vacations in the
world. Keep this in mind, though; regardless of room category, the
resort will sell out often and far in advance. Call us now at toll free
