Stayed 9-25 though 9-30, 2004. We had a good time at BRB. Keep
in mind that this is a step below the Lido resorts in quality AND price. So
don't expect anything fancy. We enjoyed the facility including our room, which
was basic but functional. The beach was perfect, white sand and aqua blue
water. The food was OK, but would get boring after more than a week. The
Starlight Grill was very good.
The water sports including boating and snorkeling were good. The entertainment
staff keeps the action around the main bar going all day. If you are
adventurous, you have full exchange privileges with Hedo III. It is a $5 and 5
minute cab ride away.
My two complaints are with the selection of music played at the Beach Bar & in
the Disco and the drinks. It appeared that the majority of the guests are
American between the ages of 35 and 55 years old. Yet the music is a lot of
hip-hop geared towards the ears and enjoyment of 24 year olds. The disco is
utilized more by the employees than the resort guests. That should not be! The
drinks taste like they are watered down. You never see a bartender open a NEW
bottle. You have to ask for a double shot of booze in every drink.
All in all it is a good value for the money. Most likely your degree of
enjoyment will depend on the people you meet and the things you do.
