We were the 1st couple to arrive at the new hotel. What an experience. The entire staff was lined up on the sidewalk to greet us. In the lobby were reporters, photographers and top officers of the company - CEO, President, General Manager , etc. Quite an experience.
However, on to reality for normal visits. The property is right next to Grand Lido. Since there are no other hotels on the other side of Couples, you have this magnificent stretch of beautiful beach all to yourself.
The food was excellent and service outstanding. However, keep in mind that the hotel just opened & there were only 7 couples on the 1st day. By the 3rd day there had 30% occupancy which was pretty good. Food & service were still excellent. Entertainment was very good.
We really enjoyed the Piano Bar which opened at 10p.m.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable - still some items missing, which didn't arrive by opening.
I was the 1st SCUBA diver. (2 first's in 1 trip :)). The dive boat is excellent. They had it custom built and from what we are told several of the surrounding hotels have ordered the same boat.
The swimming pool has a swim up bar, but the pool waterfall is a little too close to the bar and, the noise becomes annoying after a while. So, the trick here is to drink fast, get a buzz, and you'll never notice the noise.
As you know, we are travel agents. We would definitely recommend this property to our clients.
