Hedonism II Trip Report - T & C: June, 2022

June 4-11, 2022

We took the Sun Holiday shuttle from the airport to H2 and I'll say that the roads seem to be a little more rough and pothole-filled this year than last.  I heard they had some major flooding recently which contributed to this I am sure.  However, our driver was trying his best to avoid the rough parts and he was very entertaining with not only music but a bit of history of different areas while we were en route.

H2 seems to have rearranged the lobby just a little bit this year and it looks nice and fresh.  Last year there were some water/roof leaking issues in the lobby but all of that is fixed and we did not see any leaking or water at all inside any building.  The arrival was very easy.  Once we signed in, filled out the form and was given our water bottle, we quickly made our way to the room.  We had requested the same room as last year and they were happy to accomodate us!  Very pleased that they did this for us.  It also seems like they stepped up the housekeeping service. This time, we had turn down service every night. They were paying more attention to when we were out of the room and then they would come in and clean/straighten up.  That was huge for us!  Needless to say we needed daily sheet changes.  I'll let you imagine why we needed it <grin>.

The food is stellar as always. There was a big variety each night. Even the salad bar was top notch!  As most know, at some point last year, Flame had a fire (ironic?  Flame is the name and they had a fire), so H2 is in the process of rebuilding it in the previous location and I've heard it will open in late July.  In the meantime, they still have the Flame experience but just up by the pool near the main dining room.  Complete with white tablecloths and the full menu.  Harry San Japanese grill was fantastic and very accomodating to the larger crowd we had one night.

For the entertainment, there were a few new faces which was expected and the shows were amazing and fresh!  Do NOT miss fetish night (I think it was Wednesday). Our first year (2021) there were more "after" parties in the courtyard or at the piano bar, but that seemed to be less of a "thing" this time around.  However, we did retire to rooms for fun with friends or make our way over to the nude pool (beware it can get a little more risque after dark!)

The beach was a little light on sand last year but they seem to have brought in more sand because it was plentiful this time.  Beware of the sea urchins in the water if you get in the ocean and head to the platform. A couple of people were stung/stuck with their barbs and needed medical attention.

If you get a chance to take the Tiki Barge "booze cruise" to the caves, do it!  I believe the lady who arranged it was named Tara.  Get you a group and go!  You get a great (very naughty) time plus you can swim out to a cave with bats.  It was the kind of "3 hour tour" you want on a boat, not the Gilligan's Island kind of 3 hour tour.  lol

This year we took far fewer clothes.  Our first year we took 3 swimsuits and didn't use a single one.  This year we didn't take any!  Don't waste the space in your suitcase.

The nude pool is always fun after about 12 noon but be sure to take some time to just relax in a chair on the beach.  One key thing for first time folks, talk to people!  Even if you don't know them, introduce yourself and become friends!  You are all there for the same reason.  The resort is very body positive.  Forget what you look like and just go talk to people.  We saw some old faces and made some new friends this trip!

Going to H2 is like eating potato chips, you can't just go once.  It will be a staple in our vacation plans for years to come!

One Love,

T and C
