Just back from our third visit to Hedo. We used the 700 for 12 promo plus a $500 repeaters coupon and booked the December repeat offenders rate for an amazingly affordable week at Hedo Dec 16-23. Noticeably more people in the airport with lines at customs and crowded baggage claim. I used the bus from JTL as the last two times (Nov 2020 and March 2021) we used them. On those trips there were not many people travelling and we had no wait time for transport. Lesson learned, people are travelling again and it is crowded in the MBJ airport. The bus waited for almost 1.5 hours after our arrival to get more people for the ride to Negril. Will always book a dedicated car in the future. On the bright side we had red stripe and meat patty’s on the bus while we waited. Hedo was visibly getting back to normal. On our last visits staff was very much reduced, this time as the bus from the airport pulled in to Hedo we noticed the employee parking lot was very full and this was a welcome sign that Hedo is returning to “normal”. Many staff members have returned and many new ones as well. I would guess the place was 50-60% full. A few groups and lots of repeat guests. Except for Flame resto everything is as we remembered it. Of course, flame burned, pretty bad looking fire. Flame’s menu is now being served on the main pool deck. Theme nights changed as of Jan 1 2022. See the web site for the new themes. The catamaran ride is on Thursdays. We thought it had been on Tuesday last March. Sadly, as Thursdays were our travel days this trip we did not get to go to Ricks on the Catamaran. We saw several people we knew from previous visits. Played Bocce each morning to add to our collection of Hedo bucks. We are up to $240 now. Plan to use them for massages when we return in December 2022.
Our only complaint was the sign maker down by the nude pool. In March we paid for a sign to commemorate our two previous visits during Covid. He had it mostly finished but said he was unable to hang it in the nude pool bar before we left in March. He was to send us a picture of the sign via our email but never did. This time we looked for our sign and it is not hanging. He did not know anything about it of course. Don’t pay this guy until you see him hang the sign. We won’t use him again.
