Hedonism II Trip Report - Jim & Marie: Mar 2021

We just returned from our second visit to Hedo and absolutely loved it once again. So much so we are considering cancelling our October trip to Desire Pearl and going back to Hedo. We were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and boy did we.

Arriving in MBJ is different if you have not been out of the country during Covid. Military people are everywhere instructing you to spray your hands and have your temp checked. You may not notice but there are many automatic sensors checking your temp as well. I have used Club Mobay the last two arrivals and on our most recent departure and I have to say I think the departure service is far better. I would still use again though. Used the bus service this time for the drive out to Negril and we were the only passengers. No problem.

Arrival at Hedo was great they quickly got us checked in. This is when you schedule your Covid test for the return to the US. Ocean View nude side. Room was great. Got in just after sunset. Had dinner at Flame and it was good. The next day at lunch though we found that Flame had a much wider menu offering and frankly liked it better for lunch than dinner. The nude pool grill is great and all staff there and the nude pool bar are wonderful. This is where we spent the majority of our time.

For those not ocean savy I recommend having a box of baking soda in your travel bag (Don’t put it in a baggie unless you want to have a fun conversation with the authorities lol) It comes in  handy if you get stung by a jelly fish or sea lice. This is not a regular occurrence but growing up on the southern US coast I learned this trick. Apparently I forgot it because I got stung on the first day walking out of the water on the nude beach and did NOT have my baking soda. Got me on the top of my foot. Glad it was not elsewhere. I just walked up to the kitchen and asked for baking soda. They gladly gave me a paper cup with about a cup of baking soda. Made a slurry of this and rubbed on my foot leaving it in place for about an hour, all good. Did not try the old one about peeing on it LOL.

The resort has changed a few things and I think for the better. Toga night has changed to Asian night. The EC’s costumes for this night are cool and their show was great. They did an Asian buffet around the pool. Roasted Suckling Pig, Plenty of Sushi and a variety of Asian dishes and it was all great!

The shows in the evening have also changed and they are fantastic! The entire EC team works so hard and produce great shows. I don’t know how they do it but their performances are great! Repeaters party was fun and we won $500 for a return visit. If we combine that with the 12 night discount we get a great rate for a return! Won almost $100 in Hedo Bucks playing bocci and other games in the nude pool. Note to others when they scan your bag in security in the US Hedo Bucks will draw attention. There is metal in them and so in the US they had to see them.

Harry, (the owner of Hedo) was in residence, we did not get to meet him on our Thanksgiving visit. Great guy and he has been offering the “Chairman’s Cruise” A free for all Catamaran Cruise. When we were there it was the 3 or 4th week in a row that he did this. The EC’s join on the cruise. Harry’s only requirement to join is that you wear no clothes. It is great! Sailed to the reef and the caves. Partied like crazy. So very nice that Harry has been doing this. Even if he does not continue this for free the Catamaran ride is a must do. The Catamaran ride was the day of my wife’s birthday and the EC “boys” did their best to make sure she had a great day. That evening we had dinner at the Italian resto. I arranged for a cake and Champagne. Our server was wonderful and even brough the cake and champagne to a table in the main dining area so we could enjoy it after dinner along with the show. My wife is a near expert dancer and I have two left feet. The EC’s and even Harry all danced with her to be sure her birthday was well celebrated. In fact they danced with her every night. Hedo is such a blast.

Piano bar was a lot of fun. The piano player is a great guy and pretty sharp! The party after dinner on the lawn around the chess set is a DJ party. They set up a Pole for dancing several nights. There were some real pro’s there. The playroom is in the old spa area. It was open every night, but we never saw it terribly busy. We preferred the playroom by the nude pool.

Mid-week we had to go have our CoVid test for returning to the US. Hedo covers the cost of the test. They set up two Med Techs on the patio of the Piano Bar at about 10AM. They schedule your appointment on arrival. The test takes all of 5-8 minutes. Went after having breakfast. No problem, nothing to it.

We had a sign made to hang in the nude pool bar area. Can’t wait to get back to see it. We visited twice during CoVid and can’t wait to return. Thinking October for MY birthday! Thanks for your help Denny P!
