Hedonism II Trip Report - Lyle

Trip Report
Hedonism
09 – 21 September 2019

I visited Hedonism 09 – 21 September 2019.  Following is a brief summary of my observations during my trip.

Travel to Jamaica originated in St. Louis to Charlotte, with a connecting flight to Montego Bay.  The flights and connection in Charlotte were smooth and as planned.  Immigration and Customs were as expected and there was minimal delay, despite a lot of passengers arriving at the same time.

I booked ground transportation with Rocky’s Taxi & Tour Service and they were waiting for me upon arrival as planned and the trip down to Hedo was smooth and with minimal delays for traffic.

My room was in good condition and maintained well by housekeeping during my visit.  The grounds and beach were also in good condition and it appeared the staff were vigilant in taking care of both daily.

The WiFi in my room was better than I’ve ever experienced at Hedo.  I was told they’ve changed their internet service provider and it appears to have been a very good decision.  Once logged into the system, you’re logged in for your entire visit and don’t need to log in again for the duration of your stay.  I had no connection problems and the speed of the connection was very good.

The food and bar service were both good during my visit. I thought the food was good and there was a good variety available.

There were a couple fairly large groups in house when I arrived and they left a few days after I arrived.  We had a couple fairly quiet days, then folks arrived for a Tantric group, a Jerkfest cooking group, and a bunch of young models and photographers in another group.

The first couple of groups were no problem at all.  The models and photographers seemed to complicate things a bit, but a relatively minor problem overall.  One particular issue, however, was one of the photographers operating a drone over the resort.  Security talked to him about it several times, and he continued to operate it.  In fact, operation of drones over Hedo is prohibited by the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority in document FSN-GN-2015-1, Revision 2, Dated 14 April 2019.

The weather was better than I’d expected for a September trip, with some periods of rain sometimes in the afternoon or evening.  Overall, however, the weather was better than I’d anticipated.

The beach front premium rooms on the nude end were in renovation and the crew appeared to be working hard in long days.  These are the buildings with the ground floor hot tubs and some of the upper floor rooms were having balconies added from the appearance of it.  All things considered, I didn’t think it was much of a disruption and only minimal annoyance.  The resort is saying the rooms will be done by the end of this month, but I suspect the effort may extend into sometime next month, but I could be wrong about that.  I didn’t notice much other upgrade activity while I was there.

Return home was from Montego Bay to Dallas Fort Worth, with a connection to St. Louis.  I’d received a Global Entry card earlier this fall, so entry at Dallas was my first experience with using it for Immigration.  It was GREAT!!!!!

Upon arrival at Dallas, we followed the signs to the various lines for immigration.  There’s a separate line for Global Entry and I followed it to some automated kiosks, most of which were not in use so there was no line and I walked right up to a machine.  Touch screen to start the process.  The prompt told me to look at the camera and press a button to take a photo.  I accepted the photo and it gave me a receipt and told me to proceed to the exit (no questions, or any other actions required).  I walked to the exit and an Immigration officer looked at my receipt, looked at me, looked at my passport and then asked if I had any plants, animal, food or alcohol.  I responded ‘no’ and he told me to have a nice day and proceed to Customs.  Didn’t look at my form or anything.  I collected my bag from the carousel at Customs, proceeded to the re-check for American, and I was on my way!  With the Global Entry you also receive TSA Precheck for all flights, so I walked up to the first TSA checkpoint, walked into the Precheck line, right on through security and I was done!  I was very impressed with how smoothly and quickly it all worked.

All things considered, it was a good trip and I enjoyed all of it very much……….
