Our Valentines week trip this year went about the same as last year, Bubbly Bares were in the house with their band. We were happy to see some Hedo friends that we had missed for the past two and three years respectively. But of course, we missed some that we had hoped to see. Must have been at least 100 people we have vacationed with before. Hedo is truly home as we know more people there in a typical week than we do in our county.
We thought food was about the same as last year. About the same as most AI’s in the main dining room, but the Pastafari and the Prude Beach Grill were quite good. Nude Beach Grill was not so good, but maybe better than last year. We had plenty of bananas for the first time in three years, we had forgotten how good real dirty bananas and hummingbirds can be. As has been true the last several years, the resort seems to be rationing the more popular higher shelf liquors such as Absolute and Beefeaters as they were frequently not available.
Management declared the Prude beach and pool areas to be clothing optional all week. We understand that under consideration by SC is a policy change that would make it clothing optional whenever the guest population is predominantly nudist. Two nude couples camped on the prude beach most of the week because they enjoyed the solitude. As the week wore on about half of the guests there (total of about 25) were nekkid. As last year, none of the clothed guests voiced a concern about sharing the mostly empty prude beach with nudes. With HII’s reputation it is hard to imagine a real “prude” would be there. Eating in the nude (sitting on a towel) at the Prude Beach Grill was also OK. It was nice to have more variety and tastier food than offered at the Nude Beach Grill. Just hate to put on a wrap to go to the main dining room to have a decent lunch!
Public displays were quite slow the first few days; however, things picked up when 130-150 cruisers from the Bare Necessities Nude Cruise showed up in buses . Hedo ECs set up a table near the prude grill to sell sex toys to the cruisers and engineered some XXX rated activities. That seemed to stimulate more eroticism. What a surprise as many nude cruisers are rather uptight AANR members!!! We talked to several couples from the cruise and they said they had a good time, so maybe hosting the cruisers thata way was good for future HII business.
The piano bar was rocking with much participation by guests. A couple of ladies in our little group helped with the entertainment. I think it helped encourage participation when the announcement was made that no photos should be taken (and none were). Well, there were some photo shoots outside the piano bar on the Great Wall of Pussy. Other than when the cruisers were there, EC’s were seldom seen on the nude beach. At least this year they were not running around yelling and blowing whistles to get attention.
All in all… another great vacation and looking forward to going home again.
