Sharon (Dr. Denny) - December, 2007

12/16 - 12/26

This was our first trip to Hedo II as well as our first time to Jamaica. Yes we were virgins. With that in mind we booked our vacation back in June 07 It is the only time we can go as my job is such that the only time I can go is in December. (I think that this time worked out great as the resort was not so packed and we were able to meet most of the guests.) I really don’t like large crowds. We had Northwest air leaving out of O’Hara airport Chicago. When we arrived at the airport it just started to snow and the temp was 20 degrees. Which made us want to get out even more. After a 1 hr delay and de-icing we flew to Memphis and just made our connection to end up setting in the plane for an additional hour before it left for Jamaica. Getting our bags was not a problem and we caught the shuttle to the resort. Upon the arrival at Hedo our room wasn’t quite ready yet so we took a casual walk around the prude beach and hung out for a little while. The room was ready at 12 noon and first things first TV on the Playboy channel and unpack. Things escalated quickly and we had to knock down the horns before heading down to Delroy’s. My wife was a little apprehensive as it has been quite a few years since we had been to a clothing optional place. However as soon as we got to the pool she and I felt right at home. The first day was really just getting to know the place, checking out the beach, Delroy’s, Dive Shop, Gift shop, and locating the Piano bar. All this was before hitting the showers and going to Dinner. The evening show was very good and we were very impressed at the talent found in the entertainment crew.  We danced and enjoyed the evening and ended up at the hot tub after just for a little while before heading to the room. End Day one.

It takes me about three days normally to calm down so I can relax on vacation and this was no different. Unfortunately I thought that drinking more would speed up the process. It doesn’t, you just get drunk.  I learned that this is not the thing to do and from then on things went fine.  We had 12 days at Hedo so I don’t want to give a day-by-day blow I would prefer to let you know what we found to be the highlights of our trip.

First the people, since we were there for 12 days the crowd that we met the first week had to leave and we ended up starting all over meeting new people the second week.   In both crowds the people were very friendly and out going people.  We met a lot of great people both virgins and regulars. The regulars (Hedobill and his wife, Loretta, Ben and his wife (thanks for the arm bands (cute idea), and others all were very supportive and made you feel comfortable. Others that were newbies were great as well as we had something in common. It seems the people that go to hedo all have the same outgoing fun loving personalities. My kind of folks.

The entertainment staff is fantastic. Over the time we were at the resort we got to know most of the entertainment staff very well. What a great bunch of individuals. They all worked hard to make your trip one to remember and they did for us.  We loved them and appreciated the fact that they seemed to sincerely enjoy entertaining the Guests. We look forward to getting back to see them again next year.

The food in my opinion was very good. Not quite 5 star but certainly not bad food. If you go hungry it’s only your fault.

Delroy’s, Well what can I say what a great place to be. Delroy himself is a hoot. I envy him. I think anyone would kill for a job that makes you as happy as his job makes him.

This being our first trip we never left the resort, as there was just too much to do there. We did not want to miss anything. Next trip we might venture out on some of the tours.

Overall we had a great time and plan to be there again next year same time. For those of you who read this and were there when we were thank you for sharing your vacation with us and we look forward to seeing you again
