We went to Hedo II Nov 17 -22 2008
Travel went well from Ohio. The Sangster Airport has grown and grown and is
much more efficient than previous years. More jetways, better customs
area, baggage area. We decided to take Tim Air once again.
The prices for Tim Air have almost doubled,it cost 410 round trip. They have
reduced the number of planes and pilots. I doubt we will use them next
time, since the roads are better now.
Check in: We had booked thru the internet. All we had was a print out of the conformation letter. We showed
it to the desk clerk, and he said we were on his list. Ok...then he told us
our room was on the prude side. We had paid for the nude side. So we had to
get management involved, after about 45 mins we got a nude garden view
room..2152..across from the work out area. The resort was about 50 to 60
percent full,so finding us a room wasn't that hard for them.
Monday the weather was windy and overcast. It was about 3 pm before we
actually got to the beach. Easy to find chairs. We only had about 1 hour of
on and off sun,but that's the chance you take coming down in the fall or
winter.
Monday was to be a beach party, and all food for dinner was set up on the
prude beach, but mother nature had other ideas, just as we sat down,it
thundered and started to pour, big time. we grabed our food and headed for
shelter..Since we had been up from 4 am,we called it an early night, rain
continued most of the night, with a lot of wind.
Tuesday: The rain stopped, but no sun yet,we went to the main dinning room for
breakfast. breakfast was as we remembered basically. Charlie is still the man
to see for an omelette. there were a few shortages, like no cream cheese for
bagels, but overall good. Tuesday was our 35th wedding anniversary,so we
wanted to have a special dinner,so I went to the tour desk to book the
pastafari restauraunt. We found out that the policy for reservations had
changed. In the past you could only book the current day,but now people could
book the entire week at one time, making it difficult to book that morning. We
did find a early slot available,so we took it. I think this is a bad
policy, especially for people that come in the middle of the week. We headed
for the nude pool after breakfast, found towels easy to get. It was too cold
to get in the pool, but had a good time talking to people in the hot tub.
We got a chance to get a good look at the entire property on tuesday, Hedo is
in real need of a sprucing up. Almost every thing needed repainting or
replacing. They are not spending money as they did when Joseph Smith was
there...Little things like the pool tables are falling apart, the hot tub is
missing many tiles,TV's that are inoperable, show the lack of Maintenance. Many
of the improvements done in the late 90's are showing there age.
Dinner at pastafari was excellent, they have done a little redecorating and
service there was good.
After dinner we did the PJ party thing. We competed in the couple category.
We had fun,and danced until about 1 am...a few more drinks and a visit to the
midnight buffet, and it was time to turn in.
Wednesday, we woke up about 7 am..to a bad odor in the room,...I
investigated, the was raw sewage seeping from the drains into our room, commode
overflowing, backed up...we called the front desk, that frankly took too long
to investigate. After tracking down a maintenance person, they told us we had
to change rooms, due to a main break, and the whole block of room were shut
down. So we change to 2203,ocean front.
This room was in better shape then the first..TV worked, had hot water, and a
Semi-working CD player.
We went to the repeaters party at 6 pm,in the piano bar,a little crowded
,usually held in the disco,we were hoping Kevin Levy would give a speech but
did not, usually the GM tells of future plans for hedo Weds is fetish night,so
my wife dresses in a naughty school girl outfit..sexy..One thing that was a
little wierd, was the guy that goes around with a "cock" ring.all day and
night. It's a little weird standing in line for dinner next to a guy with a
woody...I think it's a little over the top at dinner..We did eat at the
Japanese restuarant. Very good, better than I remembered The band played at
dinner and after, always good, then we went to the piano bar,the new guy there
is good, people had a great time. My wife did piece by piece, and then did
YMCA,with her legs,a riot!!!!
I think we stayed up to 2 am that night..
Thursday SUN SUN SUN.....it cleared up alot, and spent most of the day at the
pool and beach.
It was toga night,we brought togas with us,and wore them, but only about 40%
of people wore them, the management didn't provide sheets in the rooms as in
years past.
Friday..More sun...nice day less wind. our last day...we just relaxed and
grooved ...dinner was the grand buffet, all resturants closed..there was a
martini bar set up. very yummy..no lobster in sight, shrimp was the preferred
main course. they had a guest entertainer, and singer, she kept the crowd
dancing, then about 11 we went to the piano bar for Karaoke..a good drunken
time..lol...since we had a flight in the morning we had to limit ourselves to
about 1 am...
Over all the experience was great, its just time to spend on upkeep in the
grounds and buildings
