Paul & Bo
This was our fifth trip and arrived at the tale
end of the Miss No Swimsuit Contest. Rumors were it was quite mild
compared to the contest a year ago. We only saw the last day and
crowning of the new winner this year. The winner appears to be the one
with the most club visitors during that time as there were some excellent
looking younger bodies that didn't even place in top three. This was the
most common comment we heard during the trip. So, perfect body or
not isn't a factor like one thinks.
This was our first year going on a Friday to beat
the wkend rush at Montego Bay. Our flight was Air Jamaica out of Chicago
which flew directly to MoBay. We checked in quite smoothly and fast.
Nothing like past years arriving on Saturday. We flew TimAir & had it
paid ahead of time. You do not have to do that as people were paying on
the spot for one way. The short flight was very smooth and fast. We
highly recommend TimAir anytime even if one way back to MoBay. You get
more time at the resort soaking in those last hours of paradise. The
only downfall arriving on a Friday was the room we wanted wasn't available
until Saturday. We always stay in Block 1 next to nude pool. We
did change the next day to another room in that block but not our first choice
but was fine.
Room had hot water whenever we needed it.
One day, Thursday, the management sent a note out to all about no hot water
between 10a.m. to 4:00p.m. in order to conserve their water supply. This
didn't bother anyone as we were already out of the room. It was not an
inconvenience.
The only major inconvenience was lack of towells
poolside. We would go days without towells. Word was the laundry
was not getting done as some people had days off that usually do it done.
One of the pool guys we knew helped get us towells. Whenever a shortage
appears you have to get double what you want in order to have some for the
next day. So, if everyone is doing that no wonder there were never any
towells.
The theme nights were fun but only a few seemed to
actually wear costumes. PJ night and Toga night were the two most
popular. Mardi Gras night had a few show up in costumes.
Food was okay. This time we noticed it
wasn't anything spectacular. Some days it seemed the same thing over and
over. It's so relaxing getting up early to eat breakfast then walk on
the beach. Even if one stays up all night...get a few hours sleep and
make yourself get up. This is what we did as we averaged 3.5 hrs.sleep
each night. You can relax and sleep throughout the day. The energy
level just keeps you going.
ECs were always trying to get something going.
Gavin was always around & is so much fun. Rae Rae & Foxy were neat to
see again. They know so many people & have so much fun it seems.
Some days they were dragging but still make you feel like good ole friends.
Delroy's Bar makes the best drinks. Vodka
Slushes went down too good as Paul's Red Label Scotch did, too. Scumba
got us hooked on their bar rum cream. We bought six bottles at airport
before we left as it was so smooth compared to the one we always bought in
past. Scumba told us to get Lillifield and he was right about the taste.
Only problem with bar area was the lack of music. We finally had to get
ahold of management ourselves it was such a nuisance. Chubby would bring
a key to the bar and open up the stereo box. We asked why they didn't
trust Delroy enough to have the key himself in order to keep the music going.
All we got out of it was employees steal the CDs. So, that needs to be
addressed and let Delroy be in charge of it. It got old having to call
the front desk or actually get dressed and go to the front desk demanding some
music.
The weather was great!! Actually, got too
hot but keeping things in perspective, we loved every minute. We
would lounge on the beach or get a float to be on the water. Then after
too much heat we either got spots under a tree or headed to the pool.
The pool area seemed to have a breeze more than the beach area. We would
lounge in the wading pool or hang in the bar/pool area. Didn't see as
many 4:00 games as in past. Was looking forward to those but this year
everyone just enjoyed talking/drinking.
Of course, there were PDAs all around the pool.
Nothing really offended us as we've seen much more. It's amazing how
comfortable people feel publicly displaying affection to each other.
The nightlife at the hottub was it's usual pace.
We would get there after 1a.m. and stay till 5a.m. Lots of action at
times. Lots of vinnies/wallies, too, but they didn't bother us.
Our group just told them to get away. Once in awhile someone would ask
to join. I will say the women's restroom is not a safe area at night.
I wish they would never have moved the restroom. It's hidden behind the
bldg. making it hard for our boyfds/spouses etc. to keep an eye on us.
One night my girlfd and I went to restroom, and I heard voices. Right
away I knew this wasn't anyone we knew. There were two guys looking like
they were eyeing our restroom and trying to decide what to do. I grabbed
my girlfd as we washed hands and told her to get out of here NOW. As we
quickly walked out a third guy was walking right at us...the other two were
behind us. This could be nothing but is not a good feeling being
surrounded like that esp if you're 'nekkid'. Our own guys were watching
the one coming towards us not realizing there were two already back there.
Our guys were just getting out of the water when we hurriedly showed up.
The management really needs to fix this hidden spot making it safer for us.
I wonder how many women have been approached but never said anything.
When we had to leave our paradise and head back to
reality, we flew TimAir where Patrick is so accomodating. He manages
TimAir and makes you feel very at home...nice gentleman. Once in MoBay
we bought the rum cream Scumba recommended and took two boxes with 3 bottles
in each. Being on Air Jamaica we had no problem getting on plane
with our loot and arriving back home. The direct flight is the only way
to go. Altho, we did have a 3 hr. late plane flight and had to wait more
as we were all boarded on plane for the fuel engine problem to be fixed.
There was a chance AJ was going to have board us up for the night but luckily
that didn't occur. Flying out was easier than getting back.
We had a great trip once again. Also, made
another set of new close friends. Every year we meet more and more
people who are like soul mates. It's hard to explain. Thank you
Denny for arranging our plans. Everything went smoothly.
