Trip Report for HEDO II - January 18-27th
Well--were do I start ?? LOL Arrived at
HEDO on Friday morning - stayed at a different hotel for the first night in
Jamaica - our flight arived late and thought it was best - so
at any rate - we arrived early on Friday morning - had a fast check in and
were ready and willing for breakfast !! Our room was not ready ( didn't
expect them to be anyway - because of our early arrival ) but they held our
luggage and told us to return after lunch ......no problem !!
We count wait to hit the beach - we had
left the cold weather behind - were it belongs and the sun was very welcoming
! Agustus was there in full form - full of his antics - not really
sure which is funnier - his antics or the new people who do not know how to
take him ..... though they do catch on pretty quick.
It was a full house - no empty rooms
so the place was hopping - nude beach and pool very busy and bustling -
had the usual January wait at the bar to get a drink - but its Jamaica - no
need to hurry--right ?
Loved our room -- we were in the
first building and had the very first room up from the prude pool - great
location - the room was very clean and had a great maid ........asked
for beach towels just once and then from there on - she ALWAYS left extras for
us every day.
I did have to wonder though -- were all the
EC's were hiding ........this was trip number 5 and they are usually buzzing
around -- getting fun and games going -- didn't see much of that on this trip
-- One of the things that we really missed - We even had a
hard time to turn our Hedo Bucks in - only saw them twice at breakfast all set
up for that...The usual Volleyball gang of EC's were also -MIA - they were
only around twice for that the whole time we were there .......my guess is
that they do not have enough of them to go around .......they were very much
missed - during the day and at night in and around the disco - they are
usually a big part of our trip talking and hanging around with them........ I
would like to say a special thanks to Mega - Dean - Jama and our favorite
Tease !
Loved the Friday night beach party - we
were there for 2 of them and both were spectacular - they had a similar set up
at HEDO III and we were glad they did it at II > everything was beautiful --
they really went all out > we were very impressed - it is about time they
spice things up abit - gets tired with the same shows year after year
.........
The talent show on Thursday
night was equally as nice > very nice turn out for the Toga party and the
staff did an excellent job with skits and the THRILLER dance routine
.............As always it is also nice to see the talent of some of the
guests ........
The food was good > same as on
previous trips - though there were a few nights that were slim pickings
for us > guess that's what happens when you do NOT eat seafood and/or curried
goat ..... though we did not starve - there was always something to eat >
Pastafari and Munasan were good as usual though very hard to get
reservations at a decent hour ( didn't like having to eat dinner at 10pm one
night ) The jerk chicken was just ok on this trip -- it was very dry a
few times and twice they completely ran out .......It is never as good as Mr.
Biggs jerk chicken down the road a bit anyway -- his is the best in Negril !
The CAT cruise to Ricks Cafe was
great -- had a great time and alot of great people on the boat > though the
trip from the CAT to Ricks in the dingy was a bit hairy > I really think they
need to work on that .......some of the people had jumped off the CAT to swim
to shore instead of taking the dingy- no problem right ? Wrong - the dingy got
to shore about the same time the swimmers did and they made all those people
who swam over ( in choppy water none the less ) wait to come to shore > not a
good idea ......they were already tired and had no idea when they jumped in
that they would have to wait and tread water until the dingy dropped a load of
people off.......other then that the trip was a lot of fun ......wouldn't have
missed it for all the tea in china -- especially Rasta Ralph - what a great
guy !
All in all we had a great week - the weather was
awesome everyday - couldn't have asked for better - we enjoyed every minute of
our trip - especially sharing it with some very dear friends -- it is always
so nice to get there and see the same smiling faces ! Already planning
for next year - cant wait !
