George, Jackie, Sue - March, 2006

First trip - March 20 - 27, 2006

This was our first trip to Hedo II, and will not be our last.  We had a wonderful time!

Arrival Day - We flew Air Jamaica from Atlanta GA to MoBay with no problems.  Customs was a breeze and we found the Super Club area with no problem.  We hit the bar in the airport while waiting for the bus, which actually caused the bus to have to wait for us, LOL, but they were very patient.  With drinks in hand we begin our ride to the resort.  A short stop for Red Stripe and our first taste of jerk chicken (we were hooked), and on to the resort.  Nothing like two fisting beers on a bus ride through Jamaica. Check in was a breeze for us (George and Jackie) but Sue's room wasn't ready on arrival.  So after dumping our luggage in our room we apply the sunscreen and head for the nude beach.  We chose to stay on the nude side and paid extra for the private hottub on our patio overlooking the nude beach.  So all we had to do was walk outside the patio door to the beach.  Very nice set up and worth every penny.  The room was nice, a few broken handles, and the shower leaked, but overall very nice.  We always had hot water for showers and the AC worked well.  We also had a refrigerator in our room which was nice for late night drinks.  For all newbys, report anything you find broken on checkin to the desk so that you don't get charged for the damage a previous traveler caused.  "Words of wisdom from our newest best friend Mikey, the turtle bite king".  Sue never made it to her room during the week, for different reasons, LOL, but she was still charged for the phone use from that room.  Seems like one of the staff made use of the room anyway, which was disappointing.  But the charge was not enormous, so she paid the fee on checkout.  We had all wondered if getting nude would be a problem for us, but found that several drinks and beers on the way from the airport helped get us over the nervousness of the first experience.  And everyone is right, "Life is short, just get naked and enjoy it!"  After the first time, we didn't want to put clothes back on at all.

Occupancy - The resort was only half full during our week at the resort.  But still full of fun loving, incredibly nice people.  We were told that the spring breakers had been there the week before, therefore, alot of the staff were off and they were on very short supply of top shelf liquor.  Next time we plan to bring our own.  I'm a Patron girl myself and don't care for many mixed sweet drinks.  But after experiencing a Hummingbird, Ray Ray Specials and Dirty Banana, I made do.  LOL.

Nude Beach VS. Prude Beach - Both beaches were beautiful.  The first afternoon we lounged around on the nude beach and in the ocean. Most afternoons we spent time around the nude pool and nude hottub and Delroy's bar.  Jerk chicken at 4pm at Delroys was an everyday event.  We did spend some time on the prude beach which was also nice.  There were plenty of chairs and floats since the resort was at half occupancy.  On the second day we met Agustus who cleans the sand on the beach.  I'll always remember him saying "No butts on the beach, only naked butts on the beach."  Amen.  Towards the end of the week, there was more seaweed on the beach due to storms out at sea, but overall, the beaches were beautiful and nicely kept.  We noticed on more than one occasion that people drifted over from the prude side to the nude side still clothed.  Security wasn't all over them as I thought they would be, but no one seemed to mind.  And believe me, you do get more stares if you are clothed when on the nude beach.  The prude pool was never used, what a waste.  Very nice area.  And we don't want to forget to mention "Naked Water Slide".  What fun!

Vinnies/Wallies - We did observe a few of these during our trip.  A couple of them decided to set up camp near a couple enjoying themselves on a chair at the beach and in the hottub and take care of their own needs while watching the couple.  Security did not stop them, and neither did the couple.  I guess they did not mind.  One vinnie decided Sue was easy pickings and we had a hard time getting rid of him the first day, but with George there, the guy was kept at bay.

Excursions - We took a trip to the Office of Nature by boat with our newest friends and had a wonderful meal of fresh lobster grilled on the beach.  Mikey, you are the man!  He set up the whole trip and then took care of ordering the lobster for us when we arrived.  We swam in the ocean and bought gifts to take home with us from some of the locals set up on the beach.  While we were enjoying ourselves, our lobster was caught and grilled on the beach.  With Red Stripe beer to wash it down, it was probably our best meal while in Jamaica.  This is a must do activity!  We also took the Catamaran cruise to and went snorkeling, and a couple of crazy people in our group (George and Sue) jumped off the 40 foot cliffs into the ocean.  George and Sue, you two are the shit!  It was great fun.  Mikey got to steer the Catamaran on the way back to the resort, and of course Rasta Ralphie was there to entertain us.  This gentleman must be older than the island itself, but he can move.  We were blessed by Rasta Ralphie before we left the boat, a very nice touch.  And last but by no means least, we did some shopping at the bazaar down the street from the resort.  Mikey was again our man and made sure we didn't pay too much for our purchases.

Extra Fun Stuff - We participated in the PJ/Toga night and Mardi Gras night which was quite fun.  Our candy bead outfits on Mardi Gras night were a hit and thanks to Lauren we had blinking necklaces to add to the fun.  George won a bottle of rum for the best dancer on Toga night and got alot of attention for his goose g-string on PJ night.  It was alot of fun planning what we would wear and then seeing what other people had planned and worn.  Much fun overall.

Piano Bar/Disco - We were not impressed with the piano bar, a little low key for us, but the disco bar was very fun.  They had plenty of good tunes and it was always busy in the evenings.  One evening, some of our crazy group decided to do naked water slide and entertained the guests in the disco by spashing the window of the disco that is directly beside the pool at the bottom of the water slide.  Much fun to watch and do.  The water slide isn't usually open at night, but if you ask an EC, it can be opened up.  They just have to have supervision there for us kiddies.

Food - We mostly ate at the main buffet for breakfast (if we were up that early) and never went hungry.  The food was good but not excellent.  But plenty of it.  We did try one of the restaurants one evening, having made reservations before hand, and had a very good meal.  Sorry, can't remember the name at this time.  And don't forget the jerk chicken and fries at Delroy's every afternoon at 4pm.  Just like clockwork.  Delicious.  We bought jerk seasoning home with us that we purchased in the airport before leaving and have jerk chicken at least once a month and dream of being back in Jamiaca.

Friends - On the second day at the nude beach, we met up with our new found friends the Equinoxers.  John and Carol  thanks so much for organizing the web site group.  We made many new friends, and you all made my Birthday celebration by the nude pool extra special.  Chris and Lauren just down the road in TN.  Thanks for the extra goodies on Mardi Gras night.  Maryann and Jim, Patrick and Donna, Chuck and Jen, and Erol.  We enjoyed meeting and partying with all of you.  We hope to see next year at Turtle Bite 2007.  And last but by no means least UPS Mikey.  You are the shit!  Thanks for taking us under your wing and making sure we had the best vacation ever.  Love you guy!

PDA - there was plenty of PDA around the nude beach, pool and hottub.  Mostly between couples enjoying a moment together and occasionally between several couples.  Only saw one instance stoped by security, not sure why since everyone else was doing the same thing.  And of course we had our own moments in our private hottub on our patio outside our room.

Overall Rating: 10 out of 10.  We'll be back next March for the Turtle Bite 2007 week.  Can't wait to see you all there!
