Chuck & Jen - March, 2006

We just got back form our Virgin Trip to Hedo ll.  March 23-27th.

Arrival day- We got off the plane and it took about 30 mins or so to get through the 3 stages of arrival. We went to the Super club area and got a bottled water, which was nice of them, then we were whisked off to the shuttle. That was great since we didn't have to wait around. We drove through the crazy and busy towns. The day we arrived they had a Carnival Cruise ship that had caught fire, the driver pointed that out, that was sad. But we got to see how the life is in Jamaica and its kinda sad but that's how it is. When you don't have much you don't need much! We got our stop at the beer store and was ready to continue to the hotel. Our bus was full and only 4 of us continued to Hedo, it was kinda funny.

We finally got to the hotel and waited to check in. (not too long though) we got our room key and went to find our room. Which since we were 1st timers, it was a task. I guess we looked lost and alot of the staff pointed us the way, very pleasant people. (They should be proud of their housekeeping and grounds people, hard workers and probably not appreciated much) We finally found it, H-Block that was cool. Nice room and close to everything. We then ventured out and found a grill and it was the Prude side one, we had to eat since we had been on the plane off and on since 5am and it was almost 3pm. We formed a group before we went and everyone sent pictures and while were waiting for our lunch one of the group goers (Mikey) recognized us and we met (Sue, Jackie & George). That was great, I didn't think we would find anyone that quickly. But we did and I think Mikey should be hired as the official tour guide, he showed us around and got us to the "Dark Side" quickly. It was cool. We met alot of the others from the group and the fun started.

Room # 2138- It was garden view (didn't ever look at the window) but very nice, (mirrors are great) the shower was nice. We never had any problems of no hot water but the temp goes back and forth during your shower. No Problem Mon! We brought gifts for our housekeepers everyday and they always made something cute on the bed for our return. We put the clean our room sign out before we went to breakfast and 2 days it was done when we returned 30 mins later. Great SERVICE! Great location and never had any problems in there, well we didn't have an alarm clock, but we only needed a wake up call on the last day and the front desk did that.

Prude beach- We only hung out there once, but it was nice and relaxing. I didn't really like the vendors there so that's why I didn't like it over there. The prude pool was nice and pretty but not too many there. They had the EC's there one day trying to get people to do a game but no one joined in. I guess that's why it has the name "prude" not interested in anything! I think they should have the EC's over at the Nude beach more often. They would get alot more volunteers. We did the waterslide on our last night, at midnight that was fun. NAKED WATERSLIDE YEAH!!!!!!! We had some join us and got a good size crowd trying to figure out what all the yelling was for! It was fun!

Nekkid Beach and pool- Well I know everyone has their own story about these 2. What we noticed and liked and didn't like: There is more people there, duh but everyone was friendly didn't have any walls to brake down, no clothes no worries! Delroy's & Robert's areas were good. Always busy! They had plenty of rafts while we were there, we brought some and never used them. Never had problems with getting a chair. The pool ones fill up quickly but we liked the beach area better anyway. Our group mostly hung out in the corner between the bar, pool and steps so we had our own space. We did see alot of PDA but that was fine, there was only one rude person I noticed. A wally I guess they are called that just went and sat on the side of the hot tub in broad daylight and enjoyed himself alone while everyone else was having their own moments. But all in all it was fine, too small of an area they should switch them but oh well.

Dining room- The food was something, but I'm kinda picky so I would just find whatever I liked or didn't mind trying and ate that. I definitely didn't go hungry, we had jerk chicken everyday at 4pm at Robert's grill, so I wasn't too worried about that. We never made it to any of the other Restaurants since we were only there for 4 days, hopefully next time. The shows were okay, nothing stood out. The Blaze show wasn't too great, hopefully they won't be back while we are there. They actually had to ask people to clap. A couple of the guys were good but the show lasted too long and people were bored. The EC staff wasn't the greatest, they need to involve the guest more then trying to out do each other.

Extra trip- We went on 1 extra trip, we went to the Office of Nature. It was YUMMMMMMMY!!! The beach was beautiful and did I say the lobster was good. We had our trip guide Mikey with us so he dealt with the locals for us and we enjoyed ourselves. He put in our order and they went out to the water and caught it and cooked it over an open grill, that's the freshest lobster you can get.  Just ask the dive shack to take you there and they will come back at whatever time you ask. Local vendors are there as well, so bring some money and bargain for some gifts.

We had met some great people and I wanted to personally thank the Crazed Weasels for setting up the group site for us, it let us meet people before that we may have not while there. Everyone in our group was great, we only met a few since we showed up later, but we kept it going as they left and others arrived. We can't wait to return and make more memories. See ya all again soon!
