Promise to keep it short & sweet...
This was our 5th trip to Hedo 2...third time for third week
in Jan...the ultimate party week!!!
As normal...No Vacancies and they over booked 5 rooms one
nite.
Took us five trips but we finally walked the beach past all
the resorts....can't believe we waited soooo long to do that...the beach is
absolutely beautiful.
We also finally did a catamaran sunset cruise over to Rick's
cafe....and yes...did the jump....it was a blast.
Service at the resort was greatly improved...actually saw
ladies collecting & delivering drinks at the beach and poolside during the
day.
The food in both the Italian and Japanese restaurant seemed
better then last year.
Significant improvements to the desserts in the main dining
room....many where actually pretty good...especially liked their cheese
cakes.
Nice change was that there NEVER seemed to be a shortage of
towels even at nite...imagine that?
All the "public" bathrooms have been renovated (and look gr8)
they where also kept clean and well stocked all week...
They even built a new ladies nude bathroom by the hottub....wow...it
was long overdue, but still can't figure out why they only put 2 stalls?
The resort was installing 17 televisions a day...and one day
we went for dinner and returned to find a huge tv hung from the
ceiling....playboy has arrived to H2..wow!!! We only watched it once while
in the room changing....we don't go to hedo to watch tv :-))
Anyhow...things appear to be improving in many areas and the
changes & improvements are long overdue but there are still alot of things
that need tweaking....
Example...shouldn't take a whole week to get a light bulb
replaced.
New management has been a good thing, they know the
competition is getting hot and heavy for our travel dollars...
That being said...sounds like our Canadian group is looking
for a change next year and we'll probably be checking out Desire in Mexico.
Sad news, rumours have it...Dave from the Piano bar...has
left...apparently resigned Jan2...didn't go to piano bar the whole week...no
reason too!!! :-(
Previous reports about security are correct...new security
company has been hired and things need to be locked up at all times.
Also had a few g/friends tell me about some "mild" staff &
security guard harassment...nothing serious, guess a few guys figured it
doesn't hurt to ask?
Finally, just want to say it was another wonderful holiday
thanks to all our new & old American, Canadian & UK friends (you know who
you are....)
