Pete & Cheryl - January, 2004

Pete n Cheryl - 1/26/04 - 02/02/04

Well, here we are, back from our first trip to Hedo II and here we are now, writing our very first trip report. Wow. It still doesn't seem possible that we have been there and are home again. For several years we have pondered going to H2 and have ended up at another resort in Jamaica, upset and disgusted with ourselves for missing the "party" at H2. We are basically a shy and conservative couple and we had a lot of fears and insecurities!

1) What if someone finds out we have been here!
2) What if people laugh at our over-weight nekkid bodies.
3) What if we don't fit in.
4) What if, What if, What if!

Needless to say, all of our fears were unfounded and we had a great time!

Getting There

We live in the KC area, so you would think that flying out of Kansas City would be fairly reasonable when compared to other airports in the central states.... WRONG, Flying out of KC was over $500.00 higher than flying out of Chicago. So.... we booked our flight out of Chicago O'hare on US Airways. The night before we were to head to chicago, we heard that KC was supposed to get hit with an Ice-Storm. so we leav't before the storm was due in. We drove to Chicago and checked into our Park-n-Fly hotel and waited till the next morning, only to find out that Charlotte was also hit with an ice storm. Needless to say we were both on edge, as we didn't know if we were going to have our flights canceled or what. The morning of our flight, we packed up and headed to the airport. Luckily the flights to charlotte weren't canceled as we had feared. The flight from Charlotte to MoBay was delayed though, No biggie! We arrived in MoBay at about 4:40pm or so. Went directly to the SuperClubs desk after going through customs & immigration. (BTW - Customs asked for a Marriage Licence - Never had this happen before, luckily we brought all the paper work with us!) Within 20 minutes we were on the bus and headed to Hedo II. Thanks to Dennyp's website, we knew to sit on the right side of the bus if we wanted to enjoy the view. Saw a little of the ocean, and several villages, before it got dark. We were the only ones on the bus, and the driver made a red stripe stop at the half-way point. From what I could tell this side of Jamaica is much nicer than the north side and the roads much smoother, but more congested with traffic.

Arrival at Hedo II

When we got off the bus, it was almost dinner time. Check in was a breeze. We had booked a gardenview room on the prude side, but hubby asked nicely about the possibility receiving an upgrade, and to our amazement we were given an oceanview nude room. We couldn't have thanked them enough! A nice young man helped us with our baggage and showed us to our room.

Day-to-Day Stuff

I know, I know.... Everyone warn's of the pitfalls of drinking to much the first night, needless to say, after dinner, we headed to the lobby bar, and guess what....Yep, We drank way 2 much. Cheryl has sugar problems (hypoglycemia) and was pretty out of it the next day.

Our days basically settled into a routine, consisting of Breakfast in the dinning room at 8:00am. We both got hooked on Charlies Omlets, the bacon, sausage, french toast, potatoes, breads and fruits etc. After breakfast we would head back to our rooms, grab our mugs, beach bag and head to the nude beach!

We spent most of our time lounging on the beach or on rafts in the ocean. It was great visiting with people next to us. Everyone was very friendly and talkative.. Around 11:00am or so. We would then head to Delroys Bar for our first drink of the day. We got hooked on the Vodka Slushies, Diry Banana's and Rum and diet pepsi. We usually just spent the remainder of the entire afternoon, enjoying the freedom of being nekkid and not having to worry about anything other than what you wanted to do next.

Around 1:30pm or so, we would head to Roberts grill and have either Grilled Cheese sandwiches or Cheese burgars and fries.... Man I can almost taste them still. IMHO there was nothing better than sitting on the beach enjoying a Roberts burgers and fries!

About 4:30 or so, we would usually head back to the room, take a quick nap or just lay around and talk. (Something we havn't done in a long while) Get dressed for dinner, and head to the lobby bar and dinning room. Dinner was usually pretty good, not great, but then we didn't come to hedo for the food. We usually ate, sat by the pool with our drinks, and then visited with more people while we were watching the nights entertainment.

After dinner, we were usually pretty well toasted again, so we normally headed to the beach, to try and walk some of it off. If not we usually just grabbed a beach chair and relaxed by the ocean. We aren't the Disco type and after one creepy experience our first night there in the Hot Tub (another story) we usually ended up in our room around 11:30pm or so and called it a day.

The Staff

Everyone was great! No problems or complaints in that department.

The Food

The best meal of the day would have to be breakfast, followed by lunch at roberts grill. We weren't impressed with the food at the dining room. Having been to several other AI resorts in jamaica we both thought it didn't quite measure up. The exception to this would be Pastafari though. Both the food and service was excellent!

PDA & PDP's

Yep, they were there, and in abundance to ;-) Some were even enough to make you hurt just watchin...LOL! We ended up in the hot tub on the first night we arrived only to find it was kinda creepy. There were to many single guys swimming back and forth, going from couple to couple and getting within a foot/touching distance or so. After that first night we never braved the hot tub again.

Resort Atmosphere

There was a drastic change in the overall atmosphere while we were there. We arrived during the last week of the lifestyles tour. Before the week was out, they were leaving, and the energy seemed to go with them to be replaced by what I would call a typical resort atmosphere.

Would we go back?

Hell yeah!. We both enjoyed the nude aspects of the resort and the freedom that went with it. Everyone there was great, It was easy to meet people and have fun. Granted we werent much into the party scene this trip, but hey... next trip we will know better what to expect!

A special thanks!
