Nick & Frances - March, 2004

3/13-3/18

Hey all, just got back from our first Hedo experience and it WAS AMWESOME! First let me thank all the people we met via denny's board for making us feel welcome: Todd and Tocha, Troy and Olive, Bo and Paul, Chris and Julie, you guys were great at making newbies feel at ease, and we will forever appreciate it. Now, onto the report:

Flight In:

All went smoothly, Air Jamiaca staff was very friendly and the serivce was great.

Check In:

Problems here. Got to the Superclubs desk at MBJ, and we weren't on the arrival list--called resort, said our travel agent had cancelled our reservation. Got on bus to Negril, arrived. Check-in staff puts us in a room and said we could sort out the travel problems on Monday (turned out to be a system error....a different "Archer" cancelled.

 Sunday:

Went to the nude side to bask in the hot, hot sun. Met up with people from the borad. Interestingly, neither of us were that uncofortable with the nudity, guess reading the Naked Truth "primed" us as to what to expect. Spent most of the day at the beach and pool lounging and chatting, save for when a shower came in and we retired to the room. Danced at night in the main dining hall.

Monday:

Back to the beach, more pool, more chat, lounging around. Another shower. Disco at night. Drinking, Drinking, more drinking. Karaoke at the piano bar. I sang "Sweet Child O' Mine" from GNR, which earned me the nickname of "Axl Rose" for the rest of the week!

     Tuesday:

Glass-bottom cruise in the morning. The reef was beautiful, and it was especially cool to see the fish come to the surface to eat the bread staff members fed them. Beach, pool and raft lounging. NAKED WATER SLIDE! Led by EC Winston and signal caller Troy, we "raided" the prude side for a water slide race! PJ party was a riot! I dressed as an 80's rocker, and got refferred to as "Paul Stanley"  by several people. Frances wore a sexy Fredrick's piece, which, oddly enough Andrea (another person we met on this board) was also wearing. They ended up winning second place for best couple.

        Wednesday:

Beach and pool again. Body painting-Frances got a lovely flower. Live piano bar at night. Sang "Satisifaction and "Hard Day's Night" which earned great rounds of applause and comments.

Thursday: The dreaded eviction day. Said our goodbyes, packed, had the last drink for the road. Hugs from the staff. Bus ride back was uneventful. Flight out of MBJ was late arrving, and we misssed our connection in ATL. Delta put us up in a local Ramada. Returned today to the cold and snow of NH, freckled, tanned, and slightly burned, yet happy and rested from our amazing experience.

      Staff:

All friendly and courteous. Special metions on EC's Winston, LaToya, Foy and Ray Ray for all their enthusiasm and humor.

          Food:

Not bad, certainly better than anything at a college dorm. Pastafari was excellent, particularly loved the Chicken Carbonara.

          Misc.

Drinks were excellent at all bars. Once again, I'd like to thank ALL the people we met down there, They were all friendly and great to talk to, and gave alot of great advice.

        Will We Be Back?

Absolutely! We're going to save our pennies so we can book even earlier next year. Really, it was one of the best times we've had in our lives both personally and as a couple.definetly stay the whole week so we can take advantage of the other activities the resort has to offer. We hope to see some of you all back down there again next year!

Sincerely,
Nick A. and Frances L.
