Mike & Betty - February, 2004

I feel obligated to post our trip story on DennyP's site because I gained such valuable information on our trip before going.  I hope this helps some other adventuresome couple.

My girlfriend and I visited the Hedo II for the first time February 20-28 and enjoyed our deflowering immensely.  I'll present this trip as much as I can from memory in a diary format.

Prior to Leaving:  Betty, my girlfriend, wants to go to Jamaica and just vegetate on the beach with a drink in her hand.  I am much more into vacationing in a northern latitude with more history and sites to see.  However, I had heard some scintillating rumors about a place called Hedonism and started investigating.  From all of the info I garnished from travel books and websites, I was a little apprehensive.  It sounded like the place was a juvenile party for swingers.  Everyone seemed to be ranting about how "cheap" the rooms were and mediocre the food was.  I began watching several of the discounts sites and had the opportunity to choose Grand Lido which is next door at the same price as Hedo, but there just didn't seem to be much spark to the resort.  My sister had spent her honeymoon at the Lido and talked about how refined and nice it was.  She also had mentioned the "wild bunch" she had encountered that were staying at the Hedo, and this sounded more interesting.  Since I wasn't going to Europe like I had planned, I decided we would head to Hedo.  My girlfriend was happy to go anywhere that we could just "layout and drink" and truly relax.  Well, that pretty much describes Hedo, so I booked the trip.  She still didn't know a lot about the resort.  At Christmas she mentioned where we were going to relatives of hers, and they goaded her about going to a nudist resort.  After that, I wasn't sure we were going to use the tickets I had bought after all.

All I heard was that "she was not going to take off her top and don't even ask.  She was going to stay on the prude side and if I ventured elsewhere, she should go home without me.  This was not starting out to be a relaxing adventure.

In spite of her trepidations, we began to pack a month in advance of the trip.  We both work very hard and could use the time away for the two of us to be alone (we both have kids from previous marriages).  I had tried to encourage her to buy some risque outfits, pajamas for the Pajama Party and toga for the Toga Party I had read about, but to no avail.  She was not going to participate.

Secretly, I sent off for two togas, Victoria's Secret and some other odds and ends and just packed them when they arrived.  I also bought the "Naked Truth" book about Hedo and gave it to her for Christmas.  In many respects the book made her more nervous about going but at the same time she began to understand more about what to expect.  I believe this desensitized her in some respects because she was trying to find something to wear to the Pajama Party and planned on wearing a well-concealing sheet to the Toga Party (but at least she was going to the Parties now)!  Right before we left I presented her with a set of sexy silk "Betty Boop" Lingerie with a matching robe, and she seemed to be very happy that she "finally had something to wear."  She said that it was the best present that I had ever bought her.

Day 1 (Friday):    The next day we were to leave, and we were up at 3:30 AM and at the airport by 4:30 AM for a 6:30 AM departure flight from Dallas.  We were there before the ticket booths opened.  Around 5:30 AM the booths opened and we were able to check our luggage.  We each had 6 sets of shorts, 2 sets of pants, 8 shirts, 2 pair of shoes and virtually every possible medication and cosmetic a person could buy because we had heard that they were hard to obtain in Jamaica.  We were prepared to live somewhat Spartanesque after reading all of the info.

Our flight arrived in Charlotte, NC for a 3 hour layover and we were on our way to Jamaica.  After another 3-4 hours we finally landed in Jamaica.  It was rough coming in and the airport is a little rough.  We made it to baggage claim and found all of our bags and then did a quick run through customs (no problem).  As we emerged from customs we were shuttled quickly to the Super Clubs area and were separated into Hedo II, Hedo III, etc.  There were quite a few more Hedo III than anything else.  We were assigned someone to handle our baggage, and he took us straight to our bus.  There was only one other couple on the bus so we were able to spread out a little.  We tipped the baggage guy $5 and boarded the bus.  The bus was a clean, air-conditioned well-maintained bus and our driver was very friendly.  I was surprised to see a Burger King shortly after we left the airport, but the area was very busy and traffic was congested.  It might be a little easier if we had arrived at another time because everyone seemed to be getting off work.  In fact, we stopped and waited for about 5 minutes to pick up a local that was hopping a ride to the resort.  The rest of the ride was pretty much uneventful except for the throngs of people that seemed to hover at the very edge of the road as our bus whisked past.  I was always afraid our mirrors were going to take out some innocent bystander.

I should note that by the time we made it to the bus, we had actually been offered ganja at least 5-6 times.  Over the whole 8 days, we were offered pot in excess of 100 times, but all you have to do is just say you are covered, and the dealers really don't bother you.

In about an hour we arrived at Hedo II, and I was very pleased to see a very nice resort.  We tipped the bus driver and made sure our bags were unloaded and then proceeded to check in.  I had heard tales of this taking several hours.  We gave them our name and were pointed toward the Orange Juice and Champagne--not bad at all.  Within 5 minutes, I was handed our room key and assigned Michael to see that we made it to our room.

We were assigned a Garden View Room which was expected because we had received a super discounted price.  I didn't mention it at the time, but I recognized the number to be one on the Nude Side of the resort.  We and the other couple were led to our rooms.  Incidentally, the other couple had been coming to the resort for many years as part of the "Bubbly Bears" and we were given a good indoctrination on our bus trip.  I'm not sure what her moniker was, but Stewart called himself "Bad Bear."

As we led through the grounds, I was surprised to see a very lush, tropical setting that was quite beautiful--not Spartanesque at all.  When we split off from Bad Bear and his wife, they bid us adieu and said that we would be seeing "a lot more of them" at the beach since we were "ON THE NUDE SIDE"...  With that I saw Betty's jaw drop as a nice, completely NAKED man jogged past.  We quickly went up the stairs and went into our room.  From everyone's comments, I had expected to be housed in a Motel 6 style room but actually had quite a nice facility.  There was a huge king-sized bed with a simple tasteful decor, Large overhead TV and omigod "A HUGE MIRROR OVER THE BED."

The room was absolutely fine and was comparable to any Holiday Inn.  The rooms seemed to be a little small (much like a college dormitory in size) and we had a faucet that leaked.  There were never any problems with hot water, and they had plenty of soap, lotion and shampoo along with a good hair dryer.  We definitely wasted packing space bringing these items.  I do wish that the bed had been a little more comfortable.  It was actually two twin beds fastened together and had a tendency to leave my back a little sore.  Floors were tile which is probably a lot easier to clean than carpet when people are tracking sand in all day and night.  Betty was absolutely fascinated by the mirror, and we had a good time eyeing ourselves in the mirror as we changed into something a little more tropical.  We were exhausted, but we were told there was an orientation at 7:00 PM in the Piano Room.  We found enough strength to head toward the Orientation, but it took us quite awhile to actually find the room.  The buildings really were not marked well for Newbies arriving.  When we finally found the Piano Room, there was one other couple there, and we had a nice conversation introducing ourselves; however, no one ever showed to "Give Us an Orientation."  The bartender didn't seem to know about the Orientation either.  We finally left--it would not be the first time we would be puzzled by the Resort not following their own schedule.  We were ready to eat dinner.  It was already dark, and we made our way to the tables and quickly found the buffet line.  Again, I had heard a lot of complaints about mediocre food, but everything was wonderful.  There were a number of items to choose from for an entree from fish to lobster creole to several different local dishes.  There were several hot vegetables and a carved roast from which to choose.  There was a large salad bar with many different cold salads and a nice selection of fruit, breads, cheeses and a couple of soups.  There was also a large variety of desserts.  One note, in spite of all of the desserts looking great, Jamaica just has not mastered chocolate.  On our whole trip, we never found any chocolate that was much more than just edible.  We were served our choice of red or white wine or we could choose almost anything at the bar.

With dinner, we had a nice floor show of various circus-style acts which weren't Sigfried and Roy but did pass the time.  I would say that we were a little too enthusiastic trying to drink everything at the bar and should have paced ourselves a little more.  After dinner we walked down to the beach and enjoyed hearing the wave lapping at the shore--a bit of change for this ol' Texas Boy.  No Sand Fleas, No Mosquitoes---Just the moon, a million stars, and ocean and my girlfriend.  We had an adventuresome time just trying to sit down in the hammock there on the beach, and after our drinks were gone, we made our way back to our room (Careful to avoid the Nude Beach).  After such a long day, we hit the bed hard and slept all night.  The alcohol probably helped.

Day 2 (Saturday):  We awoke with a little jet lag but were able to get ready (shorts and polo shirt with tennis shoes) and head to breakfast.  We arrived about 9:30 AM.  We had our choice of Bacon or Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, several Jamaican Dishes, or the chef would prepare an omelet.  We never did go for the omelet because there was always such a line.  There were also fresh waffles, cereal, porridge, and plenty of fruit and juices.  I would say in hindsight that with tennis shoes and a polo shirt, it would be pretty easy to tell that we were fresh from the planes.  Somewhere around Day 2, everyone loses the socks and finds there sandals.

We made it back to our room and enjoyed the Overhead Mirror quite a bit, that is until the Maid Service ended our play.  Out of all of the things that I have read that people complain about, I have never heard of my number one complaint--it seems that every day no less than 10 people enter each room when most people are on the beach.  They seem to bring towels, washcloths, etc one at a time.  The girl who makes the bed is not the same girl who brings the towels.  We were there for 8 days and were interrupted at least 7 times while enjoying the Overhead Mirror.

With our play at an end, we decided to head for the beach.  We quickly changed into our bathing suits and made a bee line for the Prude Beach.  On the way, we stopped by the vendors on the beach and made a mental note of the items we wanted to buy.  It should be noted that there were different vendors 6 of the 8 days that we were there.  The vendors were always willing to negotiate, and I never paid more than half of what they originally asked.  I learned that while most of the vendors do make some of their goods, all of them buy some of the best goods at the Craft Market in Negril or at the Craft Market accross the street and then bring them to Hedo to sell.  After eyeing the merchandise, we grabbed a drink from Paulette at the Bar next door and headed to the Prude Beach.  I quickly noticed that probably close to half of the women were topless on this beach.  And then I discovered that there were a few naked men that had obviously wandered off of the nude beach letting it all hang out.  I have decided that the beaches should really be described as "Clothing Optional" and "Buck Ass Naked."

Betty was rather taken back by the nudity; however, we found chairs and were soon relaxing in the sun.  We spent probably 6 hours on the beach soaking in the rays--I also acted as the errand boy bringing "Vodka Slushes" from Paulette's Bar to the far side of the Prude Beach.  I wish we had brought along the large insulated cups that I had set out but had decided to leave behind.  They would have saved me a lot of time.  However, the small cups that Hedo offers did cause me to pace myself a little more than I would have.

It was on one of my many errands that I noticed at the very end of the Prude beach, that there was a group of completely naked couples laying in a circle and enjoying themselves to the extreme.  I pointed this out to Betty, and while she was at first shocked, we both enjoyed this voyeuristic encounter.  I might also mention that within 50 feet of me I had 3 other topless women and 1 bottomless man.  We called it a day and went back to the room to shower, enjoy the Overhead Mirror again and head for dinner.  After dinner, we headed to the Piano Bar and watched the entertainment for a while.  I had heard a lot about how great Dave was and had heard the Brouhaha about his departure.  However, unless he is a heck of a lot better than his replacement, the argument is not worth the trouble.  We were totally bored with the Piano Bar.  There were a few girls in pretty skimpy outfits here this evening, and we were offered Coke a couple of times; however, one Jamaican there made me laugh when he offered Betty and I the opportunity to share in his manliness for just a few dollars.  We quickly passed on this idea and decided to stroll down by the beach.  This time we took a little longer stroll and walked the length of the Nude Beach as well.  It was after dark, and we were fully dressed, but we wanted to say that we had been there.  Back to the room--More Overhead Mirror Action.

DAY 3 (Sunday):  Much the same as Day 2; however, Betty did let the straps to her bikini slip down to improve her tan.  She also undid her top and laid on her stomach.  On the way back to the room, I suggested that we walk back along the Nude Beach (daytime).  Betty said that I would have to drop my pants, and if I did, she would drop her top.  By the time we had made it to the Dive Shack, I was carrying my shorts, and she had freed her puppies.  We made a quick walk along the beach, all the way to the Jacuzzi and back to our room.  We had GONE NUDE.  Back at the room, the exhilaration carried forward to the Overhead Mirror, and after a couple of hours, we finally went down to dinner.  We did have to scoot the bed back against the wall--it had inadvertently "walked" about 2 feet.  This evening we were walking back from dinner, and I spied a couple on one of the gazebos near the pool tables.  She was going down on the guy not far from the main dining hall.

DAY 4 (Monday):  In the morning we ventured over to the Craft Mall across the Highway from Hedo.  You simply walk to the gate.  Let the security guard know what room you're in, walk to the resort entrance and past the Lido entrance and cross the highway.  Within 300 yards, you'll find the Craft Market.  We went through all of the stalls eyeing all of the different things:  wood carvings, beaded bracelets, etc.  There was much more from which to choose than on the beach, and prices seemed a little cheaper.  You could also watch some of the carvers under the trees carving some of the items.  We bought quite a bit of stuff here and did a lot of negotiating...."Won't you come see my nice things..."  Absolutely everyone accepts US Dollars.  I am sure there are more Dollars than Jamaican Money circulating on the island.  I did find that they seem to want Jamaican a little more than dollars but I believe that is because they try to negotiate an exchange rate higher than what is offered at the airport or at the hotel.  Also, sometimes it is a little hard to obtain the right change if you don't have exact dollars.  Bring lots of 1's and 5's.  I brought $100 of each and could have brought more.

We made it back to Hedo in one piece.  However, just in the short walk back, we were offered a "taxi" at least 6-7 times with many more taxi's slowing up near us.  I was told that the hotel takes up to half of what each driver is paid for the right to come to the hotel.  Just outside the security gate, there are other taxis that pay the security guard 20% of what they are paid.  The travel guides say to watch for the official taxi symbol, but much better deals can be obtained by getting off the hotel property.

We changed into our bathing suits and headed back to the prude beach.  This time when we arrived, Betty quickly took off her top and laid face up.  She had me rub suntan lotion on the important parts which was a highlight.  I made several trips back for drinks and on one trip I picked up a set of snorkel and fins.  Betty and I took turns snorkeling in the shallow water.  The seas were calm and there quite a few fish and corals to see.  I decided to drop the trunks and burn my buns while snorkeling.  I picked up quite a few seashells and saw several starfish and at least 30-40 different kind of fish.  There were virtually no currents and visibility was at least 20 feet.  I really had a good time watching Betty frolic in the surf topless.  On our way back to the room, we walked the Nude Beach, and this time Betty dropped all of her bikini.  We stopped at Delroy's Bar and had a drink.

Delroy's is quite an unusual spot.  It seemed really strange being totally naked in line at a bar waiting for a drink.  The girl behind me brushed up against me, and I didn't know if I should thank her or not.  Later, a guy brushed up against me, and I jumped.  We stopped off at the Jacuzzi and decided to sit a spell.  There were several couples kissing rather amorously, and we finally toweled dry and walked with towels around us to our room.  We went on to dinner, and after dinner, we decided to head back to the Nude Jacuzzi to relax a little.  It was after dark, and we both wore only towels around us back to the Jacuzzi and met several nude couples on the walk along the path there.  I didn't know where to avert my eyes, but we survived and Betty sank into the hot water while I went for drinks.  By the time I got back, Betty was eager to tell me that across the way, there was a man receiving oral from his wife, girlfriend, whatever....  Overall, this was the most surprising thing of our trip.  If you go to the nude Jacuzzi after dark, you will certainly see all types of sex occurring.  It was fairly rampant.  I would say that at least 80% of couples experience some type of sex here.  And quite a few were really interesting to watch.  This is truly a very large Jacuzzi (at least 25 feet across), but everyone is still in pretty close proximity.  Betty and I stayed a couple of hours watching the antics.  After 8 drinks a piece, 2 sexual water ballets, and at least 10 BJ's, we headed to the room.  While Betty and I had only fondled each other in the Jacuzzi a little, we let loose in the bedroom that night.

DAY 5 (Tuesday):  We were up pretty early and caught a cab outside the gate and went to the Craft Market in Negril.  It was probably a 15 minute ride.  We were there for 3 hours, and we stopped at a convenience store on the way back and bought Rum Cream.  The cab cost $15 each way including the time he waited for us.  Incidentally, the Rum Cream was just slightly cheaper than what you could buy in the Gift Shop at Hedo.  We really had a good time meeting all of the locals at the Market and bought quite a few souvenirs.  There is quite a variety of carvings to choose from and everyone was very friendly.

After we made it back to the hotel, we quickly undressed and wrapped towels and headed straight for the Nude Beach.  Incidentally, you can obtain the large yellow towels from the Main Pool Area and at the Dive Shack--no one tells you this.  You just kind of figure it out.  Well, we spent the balance of the day  laying out totally naked under the Jamaican sun.  It looks like those trips to the tanning salon paid off--I didn't burn any tender spots.  We stayed at the far end of the Nude Beach (nearest the Prude Beach) and a little away from the loud activities by Delroy's Bar.  This day The Bubbly Bears were having a Mardi Grad Parade that was quite entertaining.  I was amazed by the many sizes and shapes of the naked bodies all around me.  Everyone just let it all hang out.  We watched the sun set out on the point on the Nude Beach and walked Naked back to the room--no towels this time.  We went to dinner and after dinner we decided to head to the Nude Jacuzzi.

When we got there was only one other couple in the Jacuzzi, and the water was very hot.  I grabbed several drinks and sat down on the edge of the Jacuzzi, avoiding the hot water a little.  Betty and I soon noticed that the other woman in the Jacuzzi was going down on her man, and Betty and I watched for several minutes.  I leaned back looking up at the stars with my drink in my hand and before I knew what was happening, Betty was taking care of me as well.  I can't explain the rush that comes over you in a public place like that but it is very unique.  I believe that both couples finished at about the same time, and I settle back into the water because several other couples had arrived and were watching.  Betty and I made love in the Jacuzzi later that night and repeated this each night.  It was amazing how we had started out as Prudes and gradually eased along to this point.  We walked back to our room sometime after 2:00 AM knowing that we had experienced something unique in our lives.

DAY 6 (Wednesday):  We spent most of the day on the Nude Beach, and I discovered that you could buy lobsters at the very end of the Nude Beach for $5-10 each.  The fishermen came up in canoes with the fresh caught live lobsters and you picked the one you wanted and negotiated the price.  They would kill them and cut them in half and you took them to the grill where they finished cleaning them, washed them and grilled them with butter.  They were about as fresh as you could get.  Incidentally, all of the food is good at this grill.  You can order cheeseburgers, hot-dogs, grilled chicken or turkey, grilled cheese, etc.  They also start cooking platters of Jerked Chicken that are fabulous.  At 1:00 PM we headed back to the room, and at 2:00 PM we took a bus to Rick's to watch the diving.  We paid the hotel $15 each to ride along with 4 other people.  If we had gone outside the hotel, we could have all ridden for a total of $30 round trip ($5 each).  Apparently, one college had just started Spring Break because there were 200 kids lining up to jump from the cliffs.  Divers actually climb up into the trees and dive 100 ft to the water below--pretty amazing.  Incidentally, drinks and food are a little high here.  We bought the Red Stripe, but we could have went another 100 yards down the road and bought the same beer for 1/3 the price.  Since we had arrived there at least 3 hours before sunset, I walked down to a little thatched hut bar on the cliffs and bought Red Stripes for $1 and had a large platter of Jerked Chicken for $3.  We met our bus at 7:00 PM and headed back to the hotel.  We rested a little and soon headed back to the Nude Jacuzzi where we repeated the previous night's activities with me going down on her as well.  Things were pretty wild that night.  Later on, I heard one young 19 year old girl exclaim "I can't believe that my first Lesbian encounter is going to be in public."  With that, she and another girl went at it wildly.  Right before we left, we also saw two couples joining in together and trading off with each other in the Jacuzzi.  Amazing.

Day 7 (Thursday):  We took a quick tour of the Grand Lido in the morning.  Betty commented that everyone walked around like they had a stick up their assIn Hedo, they would actually have a STICK UP THEIR ASS.  We spent the balance of the day at the Nude Beach.  We actually saw one of the Bubbly Bears posing with a champagne bottle up her butt and several guys smiling for the camera.  Neither Betty nor I wore anything more than Sandals today.  We ate at the Nude Grill and drank at Delroy's Bar.  We were very frisky today, and Betty went down on me in daylight on the Beach.  Another First.  We watched the sun set again and headed back to the room.  This was Toga Night, and when we got back to the room, I broke out the togas that I had bought, and Betty had no problem wearing her skimpy little outfit.  I saw some extremely revealing outfits that night.  One toga was completely see through.  Another woman had one breast exposed, etc....  The entertainment that night was good, and we really enjoyed the dancing at the end.  After dinner, many folks headed to the Disco in their togas.  However, Betty and I decided to head back to the room--walk the bed a little and then head back down to the Nude Jacuzzi.  It seems everyone was in the Jacuzzi this night and everyone was having sex with their significant others.  We made it up to our room at 3:00 AM and slept soundly.

DAY 8 (Friday):  Our last full day.  We decided to spend the whole day at the beach naked--no clothes all day.  A funny thing happened.  While I really didn't care if people walked through with clothes on much as we had done at first.  One guy sat down near Betty and I with clothes on and continuously ogled Betty.  He made us both feel very uncomfortable.  We encourage the security crew to shoo him away.  Later we laughed because we realized that we had been saying that "the Pervert wouldn't take his pants off."  Yes, things are different at Hedo.  It seems that we fondled each other all day on the beach, and went to the room several times to walk the bed.  That night we made love twice in the Jacuzzi and came back later that night and met several couples and had a real nice conversation.  I had heard that it was the people that brought everyone back, and I can understand now.  It was fascinating meeting people from different walks of life and no one worrying about their bodies--all on an equal plane.

DAY 9 (Saturday):  We make love one last time and set our bags out by 10:00 AM to be picked up.  Our flight doesn't leave until 3:30 PM but our bus leaves at 11:00 AM.  We strolled the beach one last time and kissed passionately on the beach.  We noticed several familiar faces and butts too, had one more drink at Delroy's and headed to the bus.  We noticed several people arriving, and I envied them.  I struck up a brief conversation with one guy.  He was there alone and wanted to know how pretty the girls were.  I told him that the prettiest ones are the ones that you bring with you.  He wanted to know where the action was, and I told him at the Nude Jacuzzi.  He said that he didn't think that he would be dropping his pants, and I could only laugh because I didn't think that I would either......
