7th Hedo Trip Report

Body, Mind, Spirit, and Soul

Yes, this was trip #7 and just as fantastic and just as fast as the six prior.  Still, a far cry from the numbers many of our friends claim.  This is a different trip report.  I thought about writing the typical version and just couldnt.  You know, sometimes I get tired of the negativity in real life and on the message boards. . . the crabbing, the complaining and the judging of others that does come out from time to time.   That is what we try to get away from in real life.  We need to go to Hedo more often to put things into perspective.  Were there PDAs ?  Absolutely.  Was the resort full?  To the max!  Did we have fun.Oh Mudda! ;)

The music from Delroys is still playing in my head with spots of sporadic laughter from every corner of the resort competing with the ringing in my ears from the plane landing and images of nekkid people laughing, playing and crying tears of love all silhouettes against the Jamaican sky as we buzzed the beach to say farewell.

This is about the people.  People from all over the world escaping their world of reality and coming together to a little tropical paradise for a week or so of renewal for the mind, body, spirit and soul.   People of all different shapes and sizes.  People of various backgrounds, races and religions coming together for a common goal themselves.  Not in a selfish way mind you, because as each individual does for themselves, another is affected whether they realize it or not.  Its about people offering you their book to read and telling you to keep it if you dont finish it before you leave.  People who give their rooms to old friends to shower after a long plane ride in and new friends who offer their rooms to those leaving so one can squeeze the last bit of what little vacation they have left.  Its all about the people.

I can still see the couple renewing their marriage vows on the point after only just four and one half years of marriage.   A first timer, easily could look at this odd gathering of people; a minister, a scantally dressed bride with a crown of flowers matching her bouquet with her groom,  bridesmaid in full gown and naked guests looking on as a bit surreal only to miss the bride wiping away tears of happiness as the grooms eyes brim full of love.   The couple kisses sealing their commitment to each other as a beach of a hundred or more friends they may not have known they had, applaud.

One of the couples new friends, who was at least 20 years older than they were found out age is relative after meeting a veteran Hedonite 20 years his senior at 86 years young who not only got Hinnied he also had chocolate sauce licked off him.    Age is all in the mind.   The newbie is in awe of the veteran and is both honored and perplexed that the couple actually invited him to their renewal ceremony.  He looks on in pure amazement.  After all, they had only just met a couple of days before in the hot tub chatting and had exchanged smiles, waves and had just light chit-chat the past couple of days.  Yes, that constituted friendship.  Watch out, it happens in a blink at Hedo.   After finding him curled up asleep in front of their door, with just his towel, they had almost called security until they saw who it was.  Once they saw it was their new friend, they helped him up, walked him to the front desk to find out what his room number was as the key on his wrist held no clue.  He had become disoriented, lost his way and was tired after overindulging just a bit.  Friendships form fast.

Then there are the professions; from white collar to blue collar,  business owners, the support staff, the clergy, the medical field  and critical care givers, the self employed and the unemployed, service men, parents and grand parents all naked, laughing and behaving like the children they once were.   People with stress levels we do not want to even know about dressed in Togas and forming a conga line.  The winner of the sexiest toga contest by overwhelming applause of the full house is the newbie gentleman who had gotten lost.   He is convinced it was a set up. He doesnt have the body, he doesnt have the youth. He really thought he was too old for this.   How could he have beat out that young buck he was up against?  Attitude.  Hedonites have a way of making you feel special even if you think you are not.  Its not the body that counts.

Delroy is singing and dancing in place as he happily makes drinks at the nude bar with Scumba and Grace  all smiling and filling drinks as fast as they can treating each guest like they are the only ones.  Mirroring their nude bartender peers, Anna and Alicia are in the main dining room bar catering to the prudes and the endless new arrivals that have spent thousands of dollars to be there, making each guest feel special.   At shifts end they drive hours to their homes and put in a few more hours to clean their house, feed their family, and water their parched gardens with water from buckets that gathered water spilling from the hillside because its too expensive to have piped water into their homes.  The next day they return, happy to see us and do it all over again.  What spirit!

It is so hard to leave the friends youve made.  More friends arrive and it is so great to see them and you dont want to go. Youre exhausted from the past week and it is so hard to leave it almost hurts.  You can feel the power of it all as it swirls around you pulling you to stay and you can feel it deep in your soul

Then one of the staff smiles and reminds us, If you dont leave, you cant come back.

Irie,

The Sunlovers
