Hedo 2 Nov 6 - 13 2004

My buddy Mike and I flew out of JFK on Air JA on a sat. Easy check-in at the airport and no fuss with security. Good flight down,on-time and smooth.Got to Mobay, into the terminal and ran into a huge line. We jumped the line as I thought it was a flight waiting to board only to find out it was going into the immigration hall. Seems like a few planes had landed around the same time and with only 4 people on duty, the line was out the doors and down the halls in both directions. Took us 45 mins to make it out of there, during which time they did add a few more people on duty.

Moral of this is : if you arrive at Mobay around the middle of the day be prepared to wait.

Now its down the stairs to find the luggage and there was 3 - 4 plane loads all over the floor, unsorted. Finally found our stuff and time to face the customs lady. After some hard looks and questions about why are you here? do you have any gifts? Whats in the bags? we got through and went looking for TimAir. They were waiting as I had made an advanced reservation request.

Minor screw-up at the desk as Mike was going back on the 14th and I was returning on the 13th .The plane was waiting so they said fly and we will sort it out in Negril. No big deal.

Bottom line: $140 r/t pp with at least 2 in the plane. Easy flight , quick cab ride($6 now)and smooth check-in.

After that everything got a little fuzzy for the next few days. LOL

Mike had booked GVN with one agent and I went with ROH through another and hedo put us together in 2110 which is classed (barely) as OVN. Par for hedo.

Im not going to do a day by day, lets just say it was a great week. I got to meet so many fine people I only knew through the various on-line boards and yahoo groups I cannot name them all here. Chris and Liz and the Bosum Buddies. Val and Brent of the newly formed Vals Pals crew were a riot. For first timers, they went all out and definitely made an impression.

Nued Mike,Rasta Bill,Jack,Kenny,Tim,Rodger were fun, especially at breakfast. We celebrated Jacks birthday at pastafafi one night and Mr.Bourke came in and just looked. Nuf said.We did Brents birthday in the dining room on weds and since it was Pimp & Ho night Val showed up with wide brim pimp hats for everyone at the table. Fun stuff! Wild Bill & DeeDee, Keith & Chrystal, Brian & Tris(?) You guys were great!! I did say things got a little fuzzy so if I screwed up some ones name Im sorry.PJ party was in the Disco where it belongs. Good crowd, great outfits. Passed out glow sticks for anyone who wanted some and folks got creative with them. ;) Missed most of toga due to not taking a nap and too much fun the last few nights. This trip was my first time seeing Danny playing in the piano bar and he was pretty good. His playing was ok,but I cant say if it was him or the piano that was off-key. He can sing and seemed to do better when the place was not very full. Winston and Arthur were helping out on different nights but for the most part the crowd died early and the energy was not there. It was still worth hanging out there for some of the talent.

Did the Tues morn booze cruise on the cat and had a good turnout. 70+ mostly nude. Stopped at sandy shore reef to snorkel, but it was too windy for my taste. Then went to pirates cove where it was a bit calmer. Snorkeled there while some folks jumped off the cliff. The slide off the cat is great!!!

Ive rambled enough. The weather was great,Hedo looks great, the staff is doing fine and were as nice and gracious as ever.

One Love, John
