This was our third trip to Hedo and our second time to be there when the Bubbly
Bares were there.
The trip down was event filled. One
of the things we wanted to do on this trip was to get our scuba open water
certification. We completed the classroom in Louisville and were going to do the
open water at Hedo. In order to save $ we flew a charter airlines (Pace)
from Louisville to Atlanta. The price was right but the old adage about
getting what you paid for was true. They lost a bag which contained our
classroom certification and my scuba specs (eyeglasses in a face mask) without
which I cannot dive or even snorkel because of poor vision. We got to Hedo on
Sat and our bag arrived on Thur. DO NOT USE PACE OR VACATION EXPRESS for charter
flights.
Air Jamaica and Hedo helped us
recover our bag and there were no problems with Air Jamaica.
In fact the trip was great except for
baggage problems with Vacation Express.
The food was good, the food at Pastafari was excellent.
We had great fun with the Bubbly Bares-
they know how to party. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mardi Gras parade and
marching into the other resorts. Pirate night was fun and we won a prize
on pajama night when we dressed as cowboys. My whip was a hit.
We went one night to the piano bar and it
was awful, we did not go back but enjoyed the shows at the main dining room a
great deal.
We went off campus once to eat at Norma's
at Sea Splash. It was very nice, good food under the moonlight on the
beach. They will send a car for you and it is free although we tipped the
driver.
We did attempt one dive after we got our
bags but it was so rough that the dive master aborted the dive after we got in
the water.
We were there for the champagne induction
for the Bubbly Bares and my wife and I represented Howard and Louie at their
trial. We didn't stand a chance with those two. Any one know where I
can send my bill to Louie? The Bares were gracious and fun loving and we made
some new friends.
All in all it was a great trip and we will
go back. We had fun planning our costumes this year.
On the way back baggage disaster struck again.
This time Vacation Express lost all of our bags. We arrived back on a
Saturday and our luggage arrived on Tues. of the next week almost 10 days
later. At the risk of repeating myself DO NOT USE VACATION EXPRESS.
